"A great racing game with a high multiplayer value!"

GAMEPLAY - 8.2/10

This is a fun filled racing game for the family in which you can play as 8 different characters (Mario, Luigi, Toad, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, DK, and Wario). You can choose between 4 different cups (Mushroom Cup, Flower Cup, Star Cup, and Special Cup) and in each cup there are 4 tracks. You can race with 1, 2, or 3 other people, race against 7 computer opponents by yourself or with 1 other person, or do a time trial by yourself. There are items to stun your opponents ranging from simple bananas to massive lightning bolts. There are no glitches that I know of but there may be short cuts that are possible to do if you're an expert gamer. If you get all gold cups in each of the engine types (50cc, 100cc, and 150cc), you'll access a pleasant, fun, challenging surprise.

GRAPHICS - 7/10

Most of the courses have graphics that are just plain average but the graphics in the final track, Rainbow Road, are spectacular and deserve special mention. Glowing pictures all over the place of none other than your favorite mario kart characters!!

MUSIC/SOUND - 8.9/10

This music is not great but very good and catchy. You might even find yourself humming or whistling a tune or two from the game! This music is one of the great parts of the game.

CONTROL - 9/10

Pretty easy to control. The basic controls are using the ''A'' button to drive/accelerate, the ''B'' button to brake, the ''Z'' button to use an item, and the control stick to steer.

REPLAYABILITY - 10/10

Going through only one course and putting it away will never be enough. You might spend hours playing a track over and over to try and beat one of your best times in the time trial or try to get some more cups.

FUN FACTOR - 9.1/10

Probably one of the if not the most fun racing game I own for all of my systems. The multiplayer is exceptionally good because it's always fun to be a game character and race others around the course. Maybe even startle them with red shells in battle or maybe even a few shortcuts! heh heh heh!

CHALLENGE - 6.7/10

Overall, generally it's not that challenging once you develop the racing skills (learning how to power slide) You'll get a gold cup in almost everything if not everything and you'll access the real challenge - the course ghosts - to race against. (Course ghosts are semi-transparant characters that the CPU has saved. Accessing them is one thing but beating them is another!!

OVERALL - 8.3/10

A very fun racing game for the family that all should own. Definitely buy this game. Especially if you're looking for a family multiplayer game that all can play. Thank you for taking the time to read this review, and remember, this is only my opinion of this marvellous game!
