Mario Kart 64
Review by KasketDarkfyre
"Heh...get over you stupid mushroom!!!"
-Graphics 9/10-
Good stuff, it's got the makings of a good racing game, big, wide open tracks, with great detail...racers with well drawn animations, it all comes together nicely for this N64 game.
An upgrade from the original Mario Kart for the SNES, this one shines, and boasts some of the better graphic quailities, and abilities for the N64 through Mario Kart. It does play fast, and it is intense, but everything hold together, no breakdown or glitches, and no slowdown either.
-Sound 8/10-
Pretty good I have to say. You can hear the rumble of the engines, and even the music in teh background, each stage, of course, having it's own little tune. It'll keep your mind on a steady pace and drone.
-Control 9/10-
Steering depends on the character that you use, all of them act, move, and steer differently. You shouldn't have much trouble with the controls here, it's all pretty straight forward and can be easily learned in one or two races.
-Gameplay 8/10-
Its straight forward racing using the Mario crew as the drivers. The game is fun, no doubt, and even comes with a couple of versus options to play, one in which you go against a friend, or the computer, and burst bubbles, the other is straight up competitive racing. Both are fun.
-Overall 9/10-
One of the best racing games on the N64, next to F-Zero 64, the graphics, sound, and control make it worth while, and the gameplay is fun too. You'll have many a good hour racing with the Mario Crew, and going against your circle of friends, to see who is the best of the best
