    1) This document is NOT a tier list or a movelist. It's a brief 
    description of the differences of Mortal Kombat Trilogy as
    it focuses on PlayStation, Sega Saturn, PC to Nintendo 64 
    so don't expect anything answered such as "Which character 
    is top-tier?", "How do you do this specific move?" or any-
    thing on doing certain combos. If this is not the information 
    you are looking for, please close this text now.
    
    2a) This document is protected by US Copyright Law, and

    is for private and personal use only--it cannot be reprinted 
    in part or inwhole or reproduced in any way or in any form

    Version Changes:

    Compilated on April 12, 2007 because it's been a long time
    I've made a difference FAQ. Finished on April 17, 2007.

    Differences:
    *NOTE: Majority of the time, PlayStation, Saturn and 
    PC versions are nearly identical. The focus is comparing
    those three versions to the Nintendo 64 version.

    -The Nintendo 64 version doesn't have loading times
    before the match and when Shang Tsung does a morph.
    Obvious guess comparing CD-Rom to cartridge.
    
    -The Nintendo 64 version doesn't contain the classic (or
    alternate) versions of Kano, Raiden, Jax and Kung Lao. 
    Those are always accessed in the PlayStation, Saturn 
    and PC versions. This was done due to the limitations
    of cartridge space that the Nintendo 64 cart holds.
    
    -Goro and Kintaro are playable in the PlayStation, Saturn
    and PC versions. These bosses are not selectable in the
    Nintendo 64 version due to...yes, cartridge limitations.
    
    -Each console has it's own secret character that has to
    be accessed via cheat code. For the PlayStation, Saturn 
    and PC versions, Chameleon is introduced. Chameleon is 
    a male ninja which rapidly switches movesets of Reptile, 
    Scorpion, Rain, Noob Saibot, Ermac, Sub-Zero (Classic) 
    and Smoke (Human). As Chameleon's stance is as similar 
    to Reptile, he switches color, not his stance. For the
    Nintendo 64 version, Chameleon is thereby, replaced with 
    Khameleon (hence the spelling). Khameleon is a female ninja 
    which rapidly switches movesets of Kitana, Mileena and
    Jade and is also a secret opponent. As she also switches 
    her movesets, she also has a storyline, unlike her male
    counterpart.
    
    -The Nintendo 64 version combines both the Classic
    Sub-Zero and Unmasked Sub-Zero into one convienient
    palette swapped ninja. This can lead to come confusion
    as it hads the Unmasked Sub-Zero's biography (without 
    the line "The ninja returns unmasked) and the moves but 
    had the Classic Sub-Zero's ending. This left some un-
    answered plot points of both of his story. You can thank
    Nintendo cartridge limitations for confusing the Mortal
    Kombat timeline.
    
    -The PlayStation, Saturn and PC versions doesn't have 
    the Hidden Portal and Noob's Dorfen kombat zones both 
    seen in Mortal Kombat 3.
    
    -The Nintendo 64 version doesn't have the Kahn's Arena
    kombat zone from Mortal Kombat II and The Bank kombat
    zone from Mortal Kombat 3.
    
    -The Nintendo 64 version has an exclusive kombat zone: 
    The Star Bridge. This kombat zone is basically the back-
    ground of The Pit II from Mortal Kombat II with a star-
    filled sky.
    
    -The PlayStation, Saturn and PC versions has a few exclu-
    sive background enhancements. Kahn's Arena from Mortal
    Kombat II no longer have the Kano and Sonya sprites. In
    Mortal Kombat II, they were seen chained in the background.
    The Living Forest from Mortal Kombat II doesn't have Jade
    and Smoke (Human) appearing in the background as they
    are playable in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Although I have
    sworn I saw Khameleon in the background when playing
    the Nintendo 64 version and a red carpet in The Bank kombat
    zone when playing the PlayStation version but I'll have to 
    check on that. Can someone confirm this? 
    
    -The PlayStation, Saturn and PC versions, Rain's stance is
    as similar as the common male ninja (every male ninja except
    Reptile) but in the Nintendo 64 version, Rain's stance is
    Reptile's.
    
    -The PlayStation, Saturn and PC versions have the same
    arcade-look of The Dead Pool kombat zone from Mortal
    Kombat II. For some reason, the Nintendo 64 version
    doesn't have the arcade-look, it's more of having the 
    Super Nintendo look of it. You could notice there are
    no chainhooks seen in the background and the similar
    color texture for some reason.
    
    -The Nintendo 64 version, The Graveyard kombat zone 
    has more random names on the gravestones near the front. 
    As well as the original Midway design team of Mortal 
    Kombat 3, names of the team at Williams Entertainment 
    were added. The date of death on the stones was changed, 
    from April 1, 1995 to September 30, 1996. 
    
    -The Nintendo 64 version has a few exclusive background 
    enhancements. Kahn's Kave from Ultimate Mortal Kombat 
    3. The sky seen from the windows contain animated clouds 
    and the floor adds a nice glow. The Lost Bridge also has 
    Blaze and Hornbuckle (from Mortal Kombat II's The Pit II) 
    seen random in the background.
    
    -The Nintendo 64 version, although Shao Kahn and Motaro 
    aren't seen in the character select, they are playable via 
    cheat code and they both have their own fatalities which 
    is considered an exclusive.
    
    -The music is different in some kombat zones. The Play-
    Station, Saturn and PC versions have music from Mortal
    Kombat II and Mortal Kombat 3 but many of the tracks
    don't play in their respective kombat zones for some 
    reason. The Nintendo 64 version only has music from  
    Mortal Kombat 3 due to...guess, cartridge limitations.
    
    -The Nintendo 64 version exclusively has a feature where 
    you can uppercut the opponent from Goro's Lair to The 
    Armory to The Kombat Tomb. This is the only triple-layer
    as all the others have double-layer (The Subway to The
    Street, The Bank to The Rooftop, The Soul Chamber to
    The Balcony and Scorpion's Lair (Hell) to Kahn's Kave).
    
    -The PlayStation, Saturn and PC version has an option
    for Free Play (infinite credits) whereas the Nintendo 64
    version, Free Play must be accessed via cheat code.
    
    -The Nintendo 64 version adds in an exclusive feature:
    3-on-3 Kombat. Same thing as 2-on-2, except it just adds
    in a 3rd person on both teams. Possible reason this wasn't
    added in PlayStation, Saturn and PC was most likely, due
    to long loading times.
    
    -The PlayStation, Saturn and PC versions of the game only 
    have twelve boxes for the Khan's Treasure Cave screen at 
    the end of the tournament, whereas the Nintendo 64 version 
    has well over twenty to pick from (the bottom row can only
    be chosen by beating the game under Champion Endurance
    Mode via cheat code). The Nintendo 64 version also has a 
    more cohesive "Supreme Demonstration" feature (which shows 
    every Fatality, Babality, Friendship, Animality, and Brutality 
    for every character) than the PlayStation, Saturn and PC ver-
    sions as the latter versions needed to load the fatalities and 
    cannot show every one in the allotted time. I'm not gonna go 
    into detail of this since I have written a seperate FAQ of it 
    and it's always available to be accessed at Gamefaqs via my 
    contributor page.
    
    -The PlayStation version and the Nintendo 64 version have
    their respective and differed number of glitches. I'm not going 
    to explain all of them because this is not a Bug/Glitch FAQ.
