NFL Quarterback Club 2000
Review by segafreak
"Best graphics on the system!!!"
First of all I would like to say that this game has (on my opinion) the best graphics on the system yet, but only if you have the Expansion Pak with it. Also from now on I will be abbreviating the name of the game since it is so long to NFLQB2000. Ok, now let's get into the real review.
Gameplay
The gameplay in NFLQB2000 is really good. First of all, they have liscensed rights from the NFL. Second they have all teams plus the new Cleveland Browns. Also, like the other Quarterback Clubs they have teams from the past so you can play with Joe Namath. The Game modes in the game are as follows: Practice, Exhibition, New Season, New Playoffs, Histoic Sims, Custom Sims. In practice mode you can pick the offense part of a team you want (i.e. Denver Broncos offensive team). Also you can pick the defensive part of a team that you can face or try to stop the offensive team with. It also has where you can choose your field position (i.e. the 50 yard line). You can pick the hash mark you want to start at too. Then you can pick the offense teams playbook, the facility (i.e. indoor or outdoor), and the kind of weather if you are in an outdoor facility. It is pretty cool. On to Exhibition, exhibition mode lets you pick any two teams you want to face each other in and you can set up all the different options you want. In New Season mode you can choose a team to play with throughout the whole season or you can choose a lot of different teams to play with throughout the season. You can play with every team for every week if you want!!!. In New Playoff mode you can just pick a team to play the playoffs with. They also have an Historic Sims mode. In this mode you can play all the Super Bowls up to Denver and Atlanta. The fun thing about this mode is that they put you in the sticky situations with the team that is down!! That is really fun if you are a football fanatic like me. This game has a whole lot more gameplay options to contend with it would take up a lot of space to write them all down so I am just going to stop here and go on to the next category.
Sound/Music
There pretty much is no music in this game but there is good sound. The sound takes part with the commentating and the crowd. The commentaters are good to a point, but when they start repeating stuff that they have already said five times in one quarter than it gets realy boring. Believe me!!!!! The crowd is good too. Also it has its disadvantages too. I cant tell any difference in the amount of crowd yelling when the home team scores than when the away team scores!! Now how bad is that!!! Well when you think about it this game as alright sound.
Graphics
Here comes the best part of the game!!!! The graphics in this game are awesome. Thats all I have to say about that!! The framerate really stinks if you dont have an Expansion Pak. So if you dont have an Expansion Pak then I encourage not to buy this game. When you have an Expansion Pak then you are in for a ride!!! I will repeat it again. With an Expansion Pak this game has the best graphics out there from this system.
Control
The control is pretty good too. But the only thing I dont like is that it is hard to remember what all the C buttons do. But other than that the control is easy to remember and I especially like the passing system. I dont like the part about it were you have to press a button to actually catch the ball. That is very stupid.
Storyline
You thought that I would actually put in a storyline for a sports game. HAHAHAHAHA!!!
Replay Value
You can play against your friends and keep playing differennt seasons, but after that its pretty much boring.
Fun Factor
I love the play any Super Bowl mode. It is real fun and also the seasons. Playing against your freinds is fun too.
Buy or Rent or Blow the cartridge to pieces?
I would definetly buy this game if you love the NFL or sorts games. Rent it if you dont like the NFL or your just dont like sports games. This might get you likeing them!!!
Do I own this game? YES
Final Thought
Yes I might be copying off of Jery Springer just a tad bit but his Final Thoughts have nothing to do with games. This game is an all out fun game and now you know that. It is my all-time favorite sports game for the N64 system. Thanks.
