NFL Quarterback Club 2000
Review by Ommie
"An excellent representation of the real thing and only the dreamcast version is slightly better because of the enhanced graphics"
Gameplay: 10
This is a totally brilliant game and I think it has the perfect speed for this kind of game, but as the other two reviews say with an expansion pack the speed is upped by about 5x so if you have one then do not use it it does not make the graphics any better. The game includes loads of attacking plays and quite a few defensive ones and also many people will argue that the new catch button is frustrating but it is just an interesting touch to make the game longer besides you get the hang of it after about 2 hours (I did).
Graphics: 10
These are the best graphics I have ever seen on an N64 game and at some points, especially during the replays the graphics could be real people! I don't know how acclaim have done it but this game is almost as perfect as an arcde machine could ever be.
Controls: 9
This is one of the coolest bits of the games especially the tricks parts although some of these are just crap. 4 of the buttons are quarterback throws but that is pretty standard, B is a tackle and Z is the most used button for kicks and for most passes. As I said the tricks are the best part you can do left and right hand offs these prove useful and I used them in my first 90 yard gain and score. You can do a spin which works hardly ever but sometimes when alunge is made at you and you spin they miss you. There is a dummy which is quite good, and finally the best ones: the sudden stop which if timed right can gain you lots more yards and the 2 dives, the first of which is a slow, high divethat you can use to score from far away to get closer to the line and it jumps high enough so that the oppositions tackles miss you and lastly, my fave move- the power dive which is best used about 5 yards from the line and whenyou have two or more men coming at you or when you use a quarterback sneak and you will dive reasonably far and knock everyone out of the way, cool!
Longevity: 10
You can play for ages with friends in 1-4 players mode and enjoy it for ever and also the most exciting part about this game is that the one player mode is equally as fun! you will be playing this game just as much in the months to come after you buy it.Also you can play as literally hundreds of teams including the best teams of past years, I think personally that the '89 Broncos are the best but I don't see why the '91 Broncos were left out. The best player of course is Elway. Finally I bet you don't need two guesses to find out who my team is!
Final summary: this is the best football game available and I do not understand how some one can ever rate madden or blitz higher than this simply on the fact that they are easier because after all they will not last you as long.
BUY THIS GAME NOW!!!!!!!!!
