Resident Evil 2
Review by K0LDSTeeL
"A very good port of a PSX game!"
What Nintendo did here was a good port of an already class Playstation game. One aspect is a physical thing, the catridge is a lugger (it weighs a freaking 2 pounds or something). Hey, I am not weak, it is just heavy for a catridge, due to the 512 megabit catridge (insert eye-popper and vulgar comment).
Graphics 9/10
Since the Nintendo 64 has much more features on their Graphics Processing Unit, such as bilinear filtering and alpha-blending. One of the downers is that the movies are a little bit blurry (if you say it is extremely blurry, you got crap for a tv), but I understand due to the huge amounts of video compression.
Sound / Music 7/10
The sound was not great, but average. It is the standard fare of gun shots and zombies trying to bite you soft fleshed head. There was barely any music, which was good for game looking for a good mood (I like mood in my games), they would only use music in a situation, such as when you encounter Agent T-00 or the first Licker.
Control 7/10
The control was good enough for me, but for some(SMcFadden especially), they just hate it. If you use the first-person control scheme (which I recommend), either character is easy to control.
Gameplay 9/10
It was really satisfying to play this game in all the modes available and both characters. It was truly enjoyable to be able Clair Redfield and kick a zombies head off:)
Replay 10/10
You can really replay this game by playing as either Leon or Claire, in either normal or hard. After beating either characters scenario A, you will go to the other characters scenario B (am I confusing you yet).
I usually rent for a while, and this one I would buy if I felt like it. I would recommend you to buy this if you don't own a PSX, but want to play this game that your friends were talking about.
