Paper Mario
Review by wdg8
"A very fun RPG, made of 100% paper."
Opening
This is one of the best RPGs I've ever played. It has every thing I'm looking for, it's fun, it's a little hard (but not hard enough that it gets annoying), it has good graphics and sound, and best of all, it has Mario. This is, despite what it looks like, a basic RPG. It has a great Mario based cast, with lots of new characters, which include: Goombario the Goomba, Kooper the Koopa Troopa, Bombette the Bob-omb, Parakarry the Para-Trooper Mail Carrier, Bow the Boo, Watt the electric spark, Sushie the fish, and lots more.
Gameplay 9/10
The gameplay is just as you'd expect in a Mario/RPG game, you play it just like an RPG only with the controls of a Mario game. Just like any RPG, in battle you can attack, use FP for magical attacks, cast a star powered spell, use an item, or run away. If you press a button (usually A) at just the right time, you can block or increase your attack power. All of the characters have there own special abilities. Goombario can give you lots of information, Kooper can get item that are far away, Bombette, as you might expect, can blow up walls that are weak, Parakarry can carry Mario and deliver mail, which way get you a reward, Bow can make Mario transparent (to hide from enemies and go through some thin walls), Watt can light up a room, and Sushie can give Mario a ride across the water.
Graphics 8/10
The graphic are basically 2d characters in a 3d world. Every one is made of paper, so when they turn around you see them as a straight line. The graphics are similar to Yoshi's Story (I rated it 7/10).
Sound 7/10
As you can expect in a N64 game, there are no voices, but the music is made up of classic and new tunes. The sound effects are just as in all Mario games, like the classic ''BING'' sound when you hit a ? block.
ESRB E, Everyone
This game very little violence, I recommend this game to gamers 5 and up. It is fun for all ages, but you need to read English to enjoy it.
Closing
This game is worth the $50 it cost. If you want a big challenge in an RPG, get a different one, this one's not real hard, just hard enough to be fun.
