"Proof that Link is the best Nintendo character!"

Super Smash Brothers is the best multiplayer I have ever played, beating even greats like Mario Tennis, Mario Party and Goldeneye. The pure greatness of beating out Mario with Link or Fox with Samus is enough to make this game worth a 10, but it goes on to have even more great things about it. So, what exactly are these great things? Let's find out, shall we?

GRAPHICS (10/10)
2.5D at its best, the graphics are 2D characters on a 2D battle field with a beautiful 3D background. The characters are well drawn, with good looking attacks. Some characters were introduced to 3D at their finest, such as Kirby and Samus. Some characters were brought beyond the limits of old games, such as Mario and Fox Mc. Cloud. The levels are beautiful as well (Kudos to Kongo Jungle for its deep, dark effect!). There are NO FLAWS to the graphics here, besides occasional slowdown withf our players.

SOUND (10/10)
The themes of the characters are back, many being introduced to the Nintendo 64 in new quality. Almost all of the themes have never been heard on the Nintendo 64 before, and are perfectly brought on! For example, the Zelda theme, though remixed in Zelda 64, was never heard on a N64 Zelda game, but on Super Smash Brothers they have it, in all of its glory (along with some new drum effects!). Also, Metroid's theme was greatly remixed. Overall, all of the music has great points. The sound effects are great as well! Link's sword clashes on the wall greatly. Ness's PK Fire repeatedly hits the opponent, with very little slowdown. Pikachu's Thunder sounds more real than most video game thunder. It's awesome!

PLAY CONTROL (8/10)
This game has great play control, with one very notable flaw. First, the good things. Once you learn the controls, you will never forget, and it will be second nature to you. You will know when to use the up C to jump and when to use the up joystick to jump. You will know exactly what attack works in what situation from pure instinct! The only flaw with this Play Control is the fact that all the C buttons do the exact same thing. I wanted more moves on the C-Buttons, but nope.

GAME PLAY (10/10)
Perfect! The battles are usually very fun. No two battles will be even comparable, so it never gets repetitive. There are enough levels and characters to have an all new experience each time. You will find good levels for certain characters (I find Donkey Kong good at edge guarding, which is easy on a level such as Hyrule Castle). The battles themselves are fun and insane. There is plenty of cool stuff you get for completing the game on different features (NESS!).

MULTIPLAYER (12/10)
Insanity. Perfection. Everybody who plays will enjoy kicking each other's butt. You may play in multiple setups (I like two-on-one-on-one the best). Each battle will be insane in its own way. You may want to secretly team up against one person. You may want to bash a computer on a team. Heck, you can jump off the battlefield! You can do whatever you want, sometimes by accident, making for a unique experience. You act in instinct in this game, so you do things that you may not mean to do, making for different other things. The thing that makes multiplayer in this so great, though, is truly the random insanity. You have little control over what EXACTLY you do. You have very little knowledge of what your partner is giong to do. You can't predict anything. It's awesome!

OVERALL (10/10)
The specs are great, the multiplayer is great, the game is great. Even the price is right. Go out and get the game!
