Question from LynOfSacae
How to defend against Gas Dragons?
I foolishly sold my third Ribbon and thus my Ninja keeps getting slaughtered by Gas Dragons. Is there anything I can do? Will leveling up help? My party is level 28 right now.
My White and Black Wizards each have a Ribbon. I'm guessing that that, besides the Knight equipment, is the only thing that can provide protection against Poison? I will try grinding a little too.

Just one other thing that I would add to what des said. You mention that you have a White Wizard in your party. If you have a level 8 spell charge, you could use it to cast WALL on your ninja to simulate a Ribbon during your battle with Gas Dragons if you are really having that much trouble with them. If your team is only at level 28, however, you likely have only one or two level 8 charges, so you want to consider whether you might need them later for FADE (LIF2 can be achieved with LIFE and CUR4 if you need to conserve level 8 charges). I hope this helps.

If you have the misfortune of running into Gas Dragons, my only bit of advice is to treat it like a boss battle. That is, pull out all the stops - use FAST on knights and ninjas, use ICE3 if you have a red or black wizard, and make sure to keep your HP high before every battle in the Temple of Fiends Revisited. Your level may be a little bit low as well. I find that if you level up, even the smallest HP increase helps tremendously.
Also, if you have a Knight and have him equipped with the Aegis Shield and Ribbon, then you may want to move his Ribbon to the Ninja. The Aegis Shield will resist the POISON attack and it won't be quite as painful.
This may be unorthodox, but another good way to deal with Gas Dragons is to not fight them. Due to the way the encounter table works, if you do a power off/power on each time right before entering the ToFR (save with a TENT right outside), and then make sure to fight one battle before entering (either on the overworld or in the ToF before warping back), you will fight not face any Gas Dragons on the 3rd floor, provided you take a direct route and don't wander around needlessly on the first two floors. I believe you will fight two battles on the first floor (both Frost D's, both runnable), no battles on the short 2nd floor, and then some battles on the 3rd floor (can't remember what they are exactly, but they are not Gas D's). After the 3rd floor you never have to worry about Gas D's again.
