"One of the greatest games of all time"

Super Mario Bros. 3. One of the great games in history. I remember playing it during my childhood, and even today it remains one of my favorites. It was a true follow-up to the original Super Mario Bros., another all-time classic. It features the return of old favorites, as well as incredible new features from the original. Mario is back, and he is better than ever.

Gameplay - 10/10

The gameplay is great in this game, and very simple and fun to use. It consists of the same jump and running of the original, as well as adding new features, such as swinging the Raccoon tail and even flying. All of it is easy to learn and extremely fun.

Story - 8/10

The evil King of the Koopas, Bowser(the main villain of the series, who was strangely absent in the American Super Mario Bros. 2) is back. He has brought back many of his old henchmen, along with some new goons, such as his seven children, the Koopalings(the mother remains unknown. I wonder if Peach is having an affair.....). Anyway, Bowser's target is not the Mushroom Kingdom this time around. Instead, he sends his kids to seven other kingdoms. Using the Magic Wands, the Koopalings transform the kings into animals. Princess Peach asks the Mario Bros. to aid the other kingdoms from this new threat. Even when the adventure seems to be over, Bowser has a nasty surprise for Mario.

Graphics/Sound - For an NES game, the graphics were great. The differences between each worlds adds variety to the adventure. The enemies and levels look better as well. The sound is great as well. A lot of catchy and memorable music in this game make it even more enjoyable. It matches the background of each world or stage nicely.

Play Time/Replayability -9/10 It should take a while to go through all eight worlds, as there are several stages in each. You do not have to complete all the worlds, and there are some secrets you may overlook on your first try. It is worth going back and looking more closely to try to find everything. Such as three secret Warp Whistles hidden in the game that can transport you to different worlds, but I am not going to tell you where they are. There are also plenty of fun addictive mini-games as well. It is worth checking out and giving a try.

Final Recommendation

BUY this game. It never gets old.
