1. Introduction <ID>
==============================================================================

First of all, I just want to say that this is my very first FAQ ever, so don't
expect to be all that good, OK? Now, let me explain the keywords after each
part in the contents. They are there to make it easier for you to find what
you're looking for. If you read this on the net, press Ctrl+F to bring up a
search window. If you have copied and pasted it into word, press Ctrl+B. Then
search for the keywords. But do include the brackets. If you search for IL for
example, you will be taken to all the places I have mentioned Willow. If you
notice a mistake, even if it is just a little spelling- or grammar-mistake, or
if you got any questions, or a comment about the FAQ, please e-mail me at
bzero_99@hotmail.com. This FAQ is completely spoiler-free, unless you are very
spoiler-sensitive, and don't wanna know the name of the last boss, or the name
of the swords you get and such. Anyway, I hope you find this FAQ helpful in
some way, and that you enjoy the game as much as I did. So, is that enough
rambling to call an introduction? I hope so, cause I don't got anything more
to say right now...

6. Walkthrough <WT>
==============================================================================

********************
<I>Nelwyn <NW>
Recommended level: 1
Items: Long Sword
Magic: Magic Acorn
********************

We start our story outside Willow's house in a small village called Nelwyn.
The world is ruled by the evil queen Bavmorda, and your job is to find her,
and kill her. If you ever need to refill your HP, you can visit your home. Now
you should go right to visit your neighbour, Aldwin. He'll give you Magic
Acorns. If you need to recharge your MP, talk to Aldwin.

Go all the way to the left, then two screens to the north. Go into the house,
and you'll get a Long Sword. Now go two screens to the right and then north.
Remember to equip your sword and magic. In the forest, just follow the path
and kill all the enemies along the way.

********************
<II>Dew <DW>
Recommended level: 3
Items: Wood Shield, Gold Statue
Magic: Healmace
********************

Once inside, head south two screens and go right. Go inside the house to heal
your HP and MP. Then go to the house in the South-West corner of the town, to
get the Wood Shield. When you get the shield, you can get Healmace by going
all the way north, then enter the second house to the right. Now go right and
north to enter a forest.

On the first turn go left, then south, then left again. Then just follow the
path and you'll get into a mini-boss fight. Actually, it's just a normal
enemy, but you have to fight it, and it is kinda hard so I'll call it a mini-
boss.

#Hit him once, then run back to avoid his magic. Do this over and over, until
you've beat him. Use the Healmace if you need it.#

On the next turn go left, follow the path and take a U-turn, and you'll get
into another mini-boss fight. Use the same strategy on this guy. When you beat
him, continue on and you'll get a Gold Statue and your HP will be healed.

Go back to Dew to rest. Then go back to the forest, but this time just follow
the path, and you'll get to a skeleton guarding a cave. Talk to the skeleton
and go inside.

********************
<III>Bogarda's Cave <BC>
Recommended level: 3
Items: Ring, Battle Sword, Small Shield
Magic: Flowing Fire
********************

Just follow the path south until you get to the first turn. Here go south, and
also go south on the next turn. Then go left and south again. Follow the path
and go right. Now you should see an entrance in the northern wall. Go in here
to get a Ring. Exit this area and go left and north two screens. Then go right
and follow the path until the road splits into four. Here go north one screen
and pick up the Battle Sword. Now go south and follow the path to a boss
fight.

#Try hitting him once from the front, then run back to avoid the thing he
throws at you. Then run up to the side of him and hit him in the side. Then
run back again and repeat this over and over until he goes down. This fight
should be easier than the 'mini-boss' fights in the forest.#

After the fight you get the magic Flowing Fire, and you will be healed. Now
head back to Dew. Here go all the way to the left, then two screens to the
south. Head left and south to get to a rocky area. Follow the southern-most of
the two left paths until you see a cave. Inside here, there's only one way to
go, so follow the path and pick up the Small Shield and equip it. Now head
back to where the road splits into four. Now, go down the stairs and go south
once more. Here, chose the bottom-most of the paths going left. Go left again
and follow the path. Talk to Kchil, and cross the bridge to the Death Forest.

********************
<IV>Death Forest <DF>
Recommended level: 4
Items: Herbs
Magic: n/a
********************

Right after you enter this forest you'll meet up with Franjean and Rool. Talk
to them and go on. Go north and left and follow the path to a house, where you
can rest and get the Medicinal Herbs. When you're done, head right and then
right again. Follow the path and go right, then north. Here, choose the right
path and keep walking until you come to a rocky part again. Here, you should
go left, then keep going north until you get to another cave.

********************
<V>Matanda's Cave <MC>
Recommended level: 4
Items: Gold Shield, Flame Sword, Dragon Scale, Bracelet
Magic: Ocarina
********************

In the first part you can just follow the path. In the second part go south at
the intersection. If you now follow the path, you'll stumble upon the Gold
Shield. Head back to the path and walk directly to the right for a while to
get the Flame Sword. Continue to the right and follow the path to get a Dragon
Scale. Head back to where you found the Flame Sword. From here go north and
right. At the next intersection, go south to meet up with the dragon, Matanda,
who will give you a Bracelet. Head back up and go right at the intersection.
Go in the entrance and follow the path. You'll get to an enemy that blocks
your way. It looks like the ones you met in the forest north of Dew, but he's
much easier to beat. With the Flame Sword equipped, he'll go down in four
blows. You can also walk through him, but that will cost you 40 HP. Anyway,
keep going and you'll meet up with Po, who will give you the magic Ocarina.
This magic allows you to call Po when you're on the world Map (not in a house
or a cave). Then Po can take you to all the places you've been before. Now, go
back to the entrance of the cave. Now, the wall that blocks your path will
disappear. Go to the left and exit the cave.

********************
<VI>Lake Cheef <LC>
Recommended level: 4
Items: Devil Eye, Key, Necklace, Seed of Wakka, Dragon Sword, Dragon Shield
Magic: Magic Cane
********************

Once you get out of the cave, you'll get the Magic Cane from the fairy
Cherlindrea. Go on. When you get to the screen where the road splits, just
keep walking north. After a while, you'll come across a chest with the Devil
Eye inside. Up north, you'll meet Madmartigan who asks you to find the key to
release him. And as the caring person you are, you will of course do so. Go
all the way west, two screens down, and all the way west again to find the
key. Head back to Madmartigan to get the Necklace. If you go north and follow
the path, you'll get to a tavern where you can rest. When you're done talking,
head back to the forest. When you get to the place you met Madmartigan, head
all the way east, and south to meet Kchil, of the Nail Clan again. Talk to
him, and he'll give you the Wakka Seeds.

Before you go any further, you should level up to at least level 13 in the
forest. For that, you need 39340 EXP. I recommend that you level up on the
egg-shaped enemies. They will hardly get the chance to hurt you, if you're
careful, and with the Devil Eye equipped, they'll go down in two blows. You'll
get 80 EXP from them, which really isn't all that bad for being so easy to
beat. Where you can find them, you ask? From the place where you found
Madmartigan, go all the way left. Two screens south of there, they almost
always appear in pairs. The same with the screen to the left of there. So,
just go back and forth between those two screens. When your HP gets low, use
the Healmace. You'll probably never run out of MP, cause when they're
defeated, they'll drop little green things that will refill 10 of your MP when
you touch them (Healmace costs 20 MP). If your MP still gets low, go rest at
the tavern. It takes a while to reach level 13 but believe me, it's worth it.
Besides, you have to be at level 13 to be able to turn Fin Raziel back to a
human. Just be patient. At least, it's not really hard (just time-consuming
and boring), and the game will be so much easier afterwards.

When you're done, head back to the tavern to rest. Before you go any further,
use the Ocarina to get back to Dew. Here, go to the house where you got healed
the last time you were here. Give the Dragon Scale to the old man and he'll
give you the Dragon Sword and Dragon Armour. Equip them both and 'fly' back to
the tavern. Go inside to refill your MP, then go right and talk to the old
lady. Continue on, and walk over the lake. On the other side, go inside the
cave. Here, you'll meet Fin Raziel. If you're level 13 or higher, you'll be
able to turn her back to human with the Magic Cane you got from Cherlindrea.
Now, you'll be able to defeat the last boss, Bavmorda, with the Magic Cane.
Now, continue north and enter the cave.

********************
<VII>Lake Cheef Cave <CC>
Recommended level: 13
Items: Metal Shield, Flute
Magic: Fleet, Renew, Terstorm, Bombard
********************

Follow the path and pick up Fleet. This magic allows you to warp out of caves.
Continue on and exit the cave. Go right, and enter the next cave. In here,
follow the path for a while. When you get to the intersection, go right, and
in the first entrance. Inside the next cave, go right at the first
intersection, then south for a while. Go left at first opportunity you get to
do so. Here you'll get the Metal Shield, which you should equip right away. Go
back right, and another screen south, then left to get the Book of Magic
(Renew). Go back right, then two screens up, and all the way right to get the
Demon's Feather (Terstorm). Now, go all the way south and right to enter a new
area. On the bridge, you'll meet Zhena, who will give you her Flute. Enter the
next cave and just follow the path to the next area. Here, go all the way left
and north to get into a boss-fight against Muzh.

#This fight is very easy! When he shoots things at you, don't do anything.
This way you'll be protected from your shield. When he moves around, attack.
You can win this fight without losing any HP!#

After the short scene you'll get the magic Bombard. Exit the cave and follow
the path to the two towers.

********************
<VIII>The Two Towers <TT>
Recommended level: 13
Items: Blue Crystal, Red Crystal, Crest
Magic: n/a
********************

First, go into the middle building and talk to Elora Danan. Now enter the
tower to the right. Just make your way to the top, where you'll meet the
spirit of the skies, who will give you the blue crystal. Now, you can walk all
the way back down or you can use the Fleet magic to warp out. Now, go climb
the western tower. After the two first floors, you should equip the Devileye
to deal with those magic monsters. At the top you'll meet the spirit of the
earth. When you've got the Red Crystal from him, walk out, or warp yourself
out with Fleet. Now, go talk to Elora Danan again to get the Crest of the
Spirits. Now head back to the first entrance to the Lake Cheef Cave, and go
north, past the cave.

********************
<IX>Mountain Maze <MM>
Recommended level: 13
Items: Tail Shield
Magic: Specter, Thunder, Healball
********************

First, follow the path for a long while. At the first intersection, go south,
then right. Follow the path again, and go right at the intersection to get the
Specter magic. Go back to the last intersection, and go south. Follow the path
to the next intersection. Go south, then right. Follow the path till you get
to a house. Here, you can rest, and you will also get the magic Thunder. Go
north of the house to get Healball. Now, I recommend you level up to level 15,
using the Thunder spell. Just keep close to the house. When you're at level
15, you'll have enough MP to be able to defeat Bavmorda. When you're done, go
right from the house, and go north at the first intersection. Now, ignore
three intersections, and go right at the fourth, then north to get the Tail
Shield. Equip it, and go back south to the last intersection. Here, go south,
then right at the next intersection where that is possible. Ignore the first
intersection and go left at the second. To get over the mouths in the ground,
use the Specter magic to turn yourself into a monster. After a while, you'll
see a cave. Enter it.

********************
<X>Mountain Cave <MO>
Recommended level: 15
Items: Wing Sword, Witch's Shoes
Magic: n/a
********************

Go south and right and enter the entrance in the wall to talk to an old man.
Continue right. Ignore two paths south, and take the third one instead. Go
right, then follow the path and go left to get out of the cave. As easy as
that. Here, you don't get much of choice about where to go. Just follow the
path, and go right at the first intersection. When you get to screens with
falling rocks, don't try to just rush through it. Stop for a while and try to
avoid them before going on. When you have walked right at the intersection,
you will see a bridge. You can't get over it now, though, so enter the nearby
cave.

When you have walked right for a couple of screens, you will meet Adik of the
Eagle Clan. He will give you the Wing Sword. It's really weak now, but when
you get to Nockmaar and talk to Abang, he'll turn it into the most powerful
sword in the game! Now, go south, take the second path left and enter the room
where you will meet an old lady. Now, get back out of the cave and back to the
last cave, and talk to the old man again. He will give you the Witch's Shoes.
Now, you'll be able to cross the bridge. On the other side of the bridge, just
follow the path to get to Tir Asleen.

********************
<XI>Tir Asleen <TA>
Recommended level: 15
Items: Battle Shield, Wonder Sword, Kaiser Sword, Powder of Unrequited Love,
Fury Shield
Magic: n/a
********************

Go a couple of screens to the left, then all the way north, and inside the
house to rest. Then go right and north. You can't get into the castle right
now, so go right instead. Also go right at the next intersection. Follow the
path for a while, go right, and keep following the path until you get to an
old lady. You can just walk through the monsters you meet, and use the
Healball to heal. You can restore your MP when you get back to Tir Asleen
anyway. When you have talked to the woman, head back to Tir Asleen, rest and
enter the castle.

OK, first of all, we'll pick up a couple of items; go two screens right and
two screens south and enter the door. Then enter the next door. From here, go
two screens right and south, and pick up the Battle Shield. Equip it, go all
the way north, then left. Take the third path south, then go left and south
again and pick up the Wonder Sword, which you also should equip. Go all the
way north again, then left. If you take the first path south, you should see a
door. Enter it, and also enter the next door, of course. Now you should go
back out to heal. The entrance is now two screens north, and two screens
right. When that is done walk all the way left from the entrance, then all the
way south, then left. If you didn't go out to heal it's all the way south, and
all the way left. Anyway, talk to Airk to get the Kaiser sword. Just keep the
Wonder Sword equipped, and go through the northern door to start a fight
against Eborsisk.

#Now, this is really easy. Just get up to the side of the boss, and start
hitting him as gets closer to you. When he gets too close, back off for a
while, and avoid his slow-moving flames. He'll go down real quick.#

After this easy fight, go through the northern door, and you'll find yourself
in a dungeon together with Madmartigan. If you step on one particular point on
the floor in the south of the dungeon Franjean and Rool will come to help. The
best way to find the spot, is the walk along the southern wall until you find
it. Franjean and Rool will give you the Powder of Unrequited Love. Step
through the hole in the wall. Now, go all the way south, then all the way
right and enter the door. Walk all the way north to get out of the castle.

Go rest if you need it, then go back to the castle gates. Don't enter the
castle again, but go right. At the next intersection, go left and talk to
Franjean and Rool again. Enter the secret cave. Follow the path and enter the
entrance in the wall. Follow the path and go into the next entrance. Again,
follow the path and enter the first entrance you get to. In here, you will
find the Fury Shield. Equip it, and exit this room. Keep going right and
follow the path (ignore the next entrance) until you get to the exit. From
here, go north (go right at both of the intersections) until you get to
Nockmaar.

********************
<XII>Nockmaar <NM>
Recommended level: 15
Items: Nockmaar Key
Magic: n/a
********************

When you get here, use the Specter magic and talk to the guard. He will run
off, and you can get in. From the entrance, go all the way left and all the
way south. Talk to Abang, and he'll make the Wing Sword the most powerful
sword in the game! Equip the Wing Sword, and go all the way back to Tir
Asleen. From the Castle gate (outside the castle), head left and follow the
path to a house. Enter it. The old lady will give you the key you need. Now,
go back to Nockmaar, and go to the place Abang was. From here, go right, north
and right again and enter the door. Follow the path and enter the next door as
well. Go all the way north, then right and enter the door. And the next one,
of course. Go right and north to talk to Sorsha and Madmartigan. When they're
done talking, go through the door. Go up and you will get into a fight with
general Kael.

#This fight can get hard if you don't know what to do. You can't just run up
to him and hit him with all you got. You have to be patient. Hit him once then
back off. Wait for him to get done whit his hits. Then you hit him once more
and back off again. Repeat. Whit this strategy, it shouldn't be a problem to
win without even losing one single HP. Oh, and don't try to go behind him, or
to his side. He will run towards you, and he will hit you for sure.#

Walk through the door. From here, follow the path and enter the next door.
Here, go south and left and enter the door. Now, you have to equip the Cane.
From here, you can just follow the path to the last boss, Bavmorda.

#This is pretty though. The Magic Cane is the only attack that will work on
her, so use that. On level 13, you can't miss once. On level 14, you can. On
level 15, you can miss twice, and on level 16, you can afford to miss three
times. Anyway, run around and avoid her and her fire. When she gets close,
shoot at her repeatedly with the Cane, cause she can't get away so easily, if
she is hit. But when you see that she is going to get away, stop shooting so
you won't miss. Repeat.#

After this battle, another battle with Bavmorda will start.

#This is easy. When Bavmorda comes towards you, just hit A repeatedly. She
will keep coming towards you, so if you hit A fast enough, she will be dead
after a few seconds.#

When you have defeated Bavmorda, you have beat the game. Congratulations!
Enjoy the short ending!
