I dedicate this to Jeff Mousett. If you had never lent me this game, I
never would have got to enjoy this great old game. I hope you are not too
mad that I never gave it back, and I wish you well in whatever you are doing
with your life. I miss ya buddy!

Also, for Cougar, Howler, Koonce, and the nameless one. I miss you, and I
hope you are living it up in the afterlife as you did in this world. You
will always be in my memories, and you will never be forgotten.

----------------------------------Introduction------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) Well, leave it to Nintendo to come up with yet another innovative puzzle
game. In this game, you play as Mario, and you must twirl your four
piles of bad guys to match up falling enemies with a pair below to clear
your plate. You acn also unleash Yoshi from his egg for some extra
points, and even to help clear out numerous enemies in one quick move.
Are you smart, quick, and great enough to take the Yoshi challenge?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------Controls--------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

2) This section will go over all of the controls you will need to know to
prosper in this game.

UP-------> This has no apparent use.

DOWN-----> Holding this will cause the falling enemies to fall at an
increased rate of speed.

LEFT-----> Pressing these will move Mario in the corresponding directions,
which will change the position of Mario's hands on the plates.

RIGHT----> Pressing these will move Mario in the corresponding directions,
which will change the position of Mario's hands on the plates.

SELECT---> This has no apparent use.

START----> Press this to confirm your selections on the menu options, and
press this during gameplay to pause and unpause the game while
playing it.

B Button-> This will cause Mario to rotate the plates of enemies that he is
currently standing underneath.

A Button-> This will cause Mario to rotate the plates of enemies that he is
currently standing underneath.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------Points---------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

3) This section will list all of the ways to collect points in this game.

Goombas : A matched pair of these little fungis are a measily 5
points.

Bloopers : A matched pair of these jellyfish wannabes are a measily 5
points.

Pirahnas : These carnivorious plants will give you a measily 5 points
for a pair of them.

Boo Diddly : These white as ghosts...well, ghosts are worth 5 points a
pair.

Bottom Eggshells: If you pile one of these on top of another, you will
recieve 5 points

Top Eggshells : Match these to a pile with a Bottom Eggshell to get some
points through a Yoshi (see the next four Yoshis for the
points). Otherwise, these will dispaear as soon as they
hit another object (and give no points).

Small Yoshi : These are short and quiet Yoshis. They are worth a decent
50 points a piece.

Tall Yoshi : These are taller, but still pretty quiet Yoshis. They are
a good find at 100 points apiece.

Winged Yoshi : These are the same height as the Tall Yoshi, but they have
wings as well. These Yoshis will net you 200 points every
time you let one go from its egg.

Star Yoshi : Easily the biggest and loudest Yoshi of the bunch. This
gargantuan will bellow a loud roar as you collect a
whopping 500 points for his release!

Bonus Items : These can only be collected while playing Type B, they
increase in value as you complete each level. They start
at 50 points, and they cap at 300 points per item. You
get one each time you complete a level.

------------------------------Types Of Yoshi--------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

4) This section will give you the stats on what is required to get each type
of Yoshi. The diagrams with each type of Yoshi will show what each Yoshi
would need in a stack.

---------------------------------Menu Options-------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

5) This section will look at the menu options, and what each offers your
gameplaying experience.

o--------------------o
One Player Options
o--------------------o

a) Your first choice is between the game types of A Type, or B Type (see the
next section for in-depth differences between them).

b) Level is your next choice, and you choose to start at a setting of one to
five. The speed of the falling enemies are increased with every
increment you go up the scale on A Type. One means one row of enemies
when you start, two means two rows of enemies when you start, three means
three rows of enemies when you start, four means four rows of enemies
when you start, and five means five rows of enemies when you start for B
Type.

c) Speed sets to LOW (slower gameplay), or HIGH (faster gameplay).

d) BGM (Back Ground Music) cab be set to four different settings: 1) is the
mushroom setting, and it is a nice blend of bouncy sounds, along with
some serious scores, 2) Is a Fire Flower which is a more ominous tune,
3) is an Invincibility Star which is easily the bounciest tune, and
4) Setting the BGM to off so you can have complete concentration on what
you are doing.

o-------------o
Two Players
o-------------o

a) In this mode, it is you vs. another human player to see who can clear
their side the quickest, or to see who can stay alive longer (if both can
not clear their sides). The first one to meet one of these requirements
first will win the match. As of yet, I do not know of any play on one
players part to send extra pieces into their opponents field of play.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------Game Types-------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

6) This section will revies the game types, and what each entails.

o--------o
Type A
o--------o

This section s the one you play if you want to go on a marathon session of
play. You will see how long you can go, how high you can score, and how
many Yoshis you can hatch before your pile reaches the very top to overflow
the playing field.

o--------o
Type B
o--------o

This settings will start you with a stack of enemies already on the playing
field, and you need to clear them away to advance to the next level, where
it becomes more difficult. You will recieve a point bonus for your
advancing to the next level, and your goal to is to keep going till you get
stacked over the top.

The following is the progression of your bonus points (once the Pineapple is
reached there are no further gains in points):

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------Strategies-------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

7) This section will give you a few strategies for scoring well, and how to
extend your gameplay.

a) When you have a full stack, the top enemy can be taken away. Let us say
it is a Goomba at the very top of the stack, move that stack underneath a
queued Goomba, and voila, it will disapear.

b) You are better to keep clearing the Eggs, rather than building for higher
scoring opportunities. You will get your higher scores naturally, so
just let them come naturally rather than trying to force a bigger Yoshi
to happen.

c) Look at what is in the queue before you rush the current falling pieces
to the ground. This will allow to shift some of the stacks ahead of
time, which allows you an easier time with the next placement.

d) In Type B, always eliminate a pair, even if it means sacrifcing an Egg
Bottom pair.

e) Always try to keep one step ahead of the game. Move Mario to a position
where he will be able to make the next move quicker. and to do his moves
more efficiently.

f) As the game speed increases, try to keep your stacks lower.

g) Always try to keep as diverse of an enemy pool available for matching up
as possible. This allows you to not have your excess monster piles get
too large.

h) If you are forced to stack some double types of enemies, always check the
Enemy Queue first. This will allow you to plan ahead of time so you can
minimize the pile up being started by the excess monster piling.

i) Start out on a slower speed so you can get the hang of the game, and then
go up to higher speeds when you need a greater challenge.

j) You will notice that the Egg Tops and Egg Bottoms come in streaks. This
means that you as the player should recognize the start of a dry spot for
these eggs, and keep the egg stacks clean accordingly. If you fail to
recognize this pattern, you will quickly find your stacks becoming
unmanagable.

k) You can eliminate two enemies from one stack in a single pair. Eliminate
the top matching enemy (say it is a Boo), and then swing the stack around
to get the second enemy before it falls past the now lower stack (say it
is a Pirahna Plant). This is an excellent way to avoid having unwanted
enemies stack up on other enemies.

A great little puzzle game, that although very simplisitc in nature, it
has lots of subtle nuiansces to it. Easy to pick up and learn, hard to
become proficient enough to be successful at. I wish yuo a fun gaming
experience.
