Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
Question from mamagod
Asked: 3 years agoBoth The Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: the adventure of Link come in gold cartridges, which is really the best way to spot them out, But I was over at my friends house one day, and I looked at his copy of Zelda II, and rather than being gold, It was the traditional grey, like most NES games. I'm pretty sure that this doesn't change the experience of the game in any way, But I'm just curious to know why some are grey and not gold.
Any answers would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mamagod
The original production of both the orignal Zelda and Zelda II were in the gold cartridge. After they became extremely popular, they were re-released with slightly different packaging (saying something about how popular the games were and without the cutaway) and the grey carts. The grey counterparts are the exact same as the first release, although I believe they might be slightly more rare.

statusAll I know is that the grey Zelda I and II NES cartridges are less common than the gold ones, meaning the grey ones are uncommon, or rare.
I've never seen a Zelda I or II cartridge in any color except gold.
