Dragon Ball Z: Kyoushuu! Saiyajin
Review by Son Michael

You'll literally spend as much time training as the characters do in real time!
DragonBall Z: Attack of the Saiyans. Or as picky traslaters would say, "DragonBall Z: Attack of the Saiya-jins." Based one of the best series, in my opinion, of all time! So DBZ fans will not be disappointed with this game.
Story:
You start out as Goku and Piccolo just after Radditz has kidnapped Goku's son. You must seek revenge against Radditz and rescue your son. If you succeed you will then go to Snake Way as Goku and attempt to train with King Kai. Wait there's also a bonus that wasn't in the show during this time. Back on earth, Piccolo, Gohan, Krillen, Tien, Chaot-zu, and Yamcha are training as well. They also must go up against Garlic Junior and his cronies(from the movie DBZ:Deadzone). If you succeed there you must face the Saiyans Nappa and Vegeta!
This game receives a 10 out of 10 for story. Is it not one of the best series of all time? What can I say?
Gameplay:
To get around you must choose your card and you can move as many spaces as the card allows in a vertical and horizontal fashion. Its basically a huge board game. Sometimes you may end up in a fight, or sometimes you may not. If you keep your character's together(atleast 1 space away in any direction including diagonal) they will fight in your battle if you would happen to get into one. There are also symbols on the cards during the fights that help you execute an attack. Some may even allow you to execute a kai attack. You have a set amount of HP and BP but there are healing stations as well as training stations spread out across the "board". Although the game may take up MUCH of your time, the gameplay was probably as good as it could've gotten.
This game receives a 7 out of 10 for gameplay.
Difficulty:
The game isn't as much difficult as it is with having patience. The bosses should have more HP or BP or something. The battle just seem to fly. Maybe its the overwhelming amount of training that makes it seem like minutes, but it is worth it. Because you spend countless hours playing this game, the difficulty is very very high.
This game receives a 10 out of 10 for difficulty.
Graphics:
Looking at this game it was better than I imagined it would be, not as glamorous by any means compared to Hyper Dimension, but I found a satisfaction in this area just because it was the first DragonBall Z game I had played. The Kai attack are satisfactory and yet you are left wanting more and more. Sometimes you must train your character to a certain level before they can execute the attack, those attacks are worth waiting for but really don't make up for the countless hours at this thing. It could've been worse and better but this was NES.
This game receives a 7 out of 10 for graphics.
Sound:
The sound effects during the battles was halfway decent. But after a while you may want to turn the sound off if you spend a certain amount of time where the music is all the same. In battles and training areas the music is different if you want to get away from the music played while your traveling. Once again this is the magic of NES, it shouldn't bashed to harshly but not complimented too greatly either.
This game receives a 6 out of 10 for sound.
Replayability:
I have only gotten through this game 1 time. That is correct 1 time. After writing this review I'd have to say that I'm actually going to dig out this game and play it again from the beginning. It will probably be one of those things where you wonder what it was like playing it and get hooked again. But since it does take a lot of your time away, this factor is different for everyone. Wanting to play this again just after completing it, doesn't sound very thrilling. Maybe one day when you get very bored.
This game receives an 4 out of 10 for replayability.
Buy or Rent?
If you can find a place you can rent this game you probably aren't in the United States, but I could be wrong. If you can find this game I'd suggest you buy it. It is worth any price because it is so rare.
