    1: Introduction
    On each level, Goemon must collect three passes to leave each town;
one he must buy, one he has to go into the maze to get and the other is hidden underground.
The price of items rises with each passing level so, be careful. Buy armor and some red tags
to protect yourself on the later levels!

NOTE THAT THIS WALKTHROUGH ONLY COVERS THE FIRST FEW LEVELS. THERE ARE 50 LEVELS IN THE WHOLE
    GAME!!!
IF I CAN GET PAST THE WATER TOWN STAGE THEN I WILL ADD MORE TO THIS! I HOPE TO UPDATE THIS
    WEEKLY! THIS GAME IS HARD!!!

    2: Characters
Well, there's only one main character in this game... Goemon! You run around using his pipe
and coin-slingshot to knockout policemen, and whenever he picks up a Speed Booster he runs
faster. Everytime he grabs a lucky cat, Goemon's pipe upgrades to slingshot. Jump over pots to
collect money, and you can use money to play games, enter the maze, gamble, and buy items.
On each level you must BUY one of the entry passes!!!

    4: Walkthrough

This is a general guide on how to get through the first few levels and get the stage passes!

    STAGE 1: OEDO TOWN
From Your starting position, go right, jump over rocks and boxes to get money and power-ups.
Go in the first building you see, the woman inside is selling a candle for 30 coins, so buy it.
Then leave. Keep heading right until you find what looks like a staircase in the ground.
Stand on it to go to a secret underground area, and explore and pick up the dumplings inside.
The exit to the surface is on the right. When you come out, you'll see a building. It's the inn,
but only stay if needed... it costs 70 coins if you need it. From the inn head right until you
find another staircase. Go inside for the secrets, then exit to the surface on the left.
You'll re-surface at the beginning of the level, so go left from the starting position to find
another staircase, and then go right (you'll need to make diagonal jumps to make it through),
and the exit is on the right. You'll re-surface in front of a building, so go in and buy the
pass and the candle, The pass costs 150 and the candle costs 60.

Leave the building, and the next building is the armor shop, but only go in if needed. Go into
the building after the armor shop, and enter the dungeon maze for 50 coins. Find the pass then
exit the maze. Exit the dungeon and you'll find that there is a staircase in front of the
Dungeon shop. Go into staircase to go into the final secret area where the last needed pass is.
Jump over the rocks to get it. Exit to surface from where you came in. Now when you re-surface
just run to the far-right to the exit of the level.

    STAGE 2: FOREST TOWN
Go left from your starting position, and the first hut you come across is a store which is
selling some armor, a helmet and the slingshot. Buy them if needed. From the hut keep going left,
and the hut afterwards is also a store, so go up into the next part of the forest. From here go
left, and the first hut you come across is the gambler's hut. The one after that is the dungeon,
so enter the dungeon for 100 coins, find the pass, then exit.

Head left when you get out into town and the next hut is selling an entry pass for 250 coins, so
buy that and also buy a candle for 100 coins. The next hut after this one is selling a protective
Red tag, so buy if needed. Go left and then head upwards, then go to the right and you should
find a staircase, so go down into secret area where the last pass is. You'll need to jump
diagonally to get the pass. Leave where you entered from and you'll re-surface
in town. Now just run right and you'll find the gate to exit.

    STAGE 3: VOLCANO TOWN
From where you begin, the first house you see is the gambler's house, and the next house
afterwards is the dungeon. Enter the dungeon for 180 coins, find the pass, then exit. Back in
town go right and follow the path up to the first gap. Jump over the gap and a secret staircase
appears where you jumped from, so jump back into staircase to go to a secret cave with an entry
pass inside it. Leave the cave from where you came in once you get the pass. Back in town, jump
over the gaps, but beware of falling rocks and the Tengu monsters! Go in the next house, and buy
the last pass and a protective tag if needed. Now sprint to the right and leave the level before
    the Tengu get you!

    STAGE 4: WATER TOWN
From your starting position, go right and jump over rocks for money and power-ups. Jump over the
water to next island and a staircase will appear in the water. Jump into the staircase for the
secret area, then exit to surface is on the right.

I couldn't get past this stage yet, but I am still trying my hardest, so this walkthrough will
have constant updates. I hope to cover at least up to level 9 or 10, and maybe ALL 50 levels.

    5: Tips
ALWAYS have a candle, these will lead you to underground areas which are usually loaded
with all sorts of nice power-ups.
Armor and helmets are very handy to keep around but be careful as they become extremely
expensive around level 3 and onwards. Money pots always regenerate in the same place so get
money from the area, leave and then come back for the money again, which eliminates high-price
problems, but don't spend all day getting money as your are under a time limit.
On harder levels ALWAYS keep a set of Riceballs handy, especially for levels with the
    Tengu birds hanging around!

I suggest you take visit to...
    http://www.page.sannet.ne.jp/s-koshi/misc/goemon.html
This site covers some of the folklore legend but it also has more info and help on this
Goemon game in particular. It has a complete item list, and list of enemies.
It's a very interesting site, and it helped me alot when I was writing this walkthrough.
