"The sequel to Bible Adventures and the proof that third-party companies can make playable games without Nintendo's Seal of Approval."

I will warn you before emulating or buying this game: If Christmas is coming, either don't play it or turn the sound OFF! When you've heard ''We Three Kings,'' ''What Child is This,'' and ''Go Tell it on the Mountain'' about 500 times with 8-bit sound, you're bound to do something bad to those carolors who come around singing those songs! For your own and other's safety, PLEASE! Anyway, on to the game...

Graphics: Wisdom Tree does pretty well in this category, although the sprites seem a litte bit more cramped together in this one, probably to go for a more ''detailed'' look. Nevertheless, they animate decently, if choppily(it's a word now, I used it.) Occasionally, it's also hard to line up some of your shots on the enemy, due to rather odd hit detection. But generally it's all done well. I'm glad to see they kept the ''eye-popping'' effects for when you get hit. Oh, and if you want to see something funny, go to any screen where the little angel pointer is, and wait a while. The best grapics award is easily taken by The Three Kings, the worst by Flight to Egypt.

Music: YES! At least this time the music changes from game to game! And I do think that the opening rendition of ''Crown Him with Many Crowns'' is VERY good, in fact it almost beats out the actual hymn! Otherwise, though, it gets VERY repetitive, VERY quickly. But the sound is a step up from the previous title, with more differentiated clicks, whistles, and beeps than before. And the sounds used for counting items at the end of every level in ''The Three Wise Men'' are probably the coolest highlight.

Gameplay: Odd. Hit. Detection. Especially in Flight to Egypt(which, incidentally, was also the hardest.) But eventually, you should get the hang of how it's done. The control setup is surprisingly good, and the new feature of playing through on easy or normal(normal has more levels and more enemies...an actual incentive to play for once, just to see all the new levels...)is a nice addition. The challenge was upped considerably, however, with the new two hits instead of four for each energy unit, and besides this you actually have to answer biblical questions RIGHT to get the energy. (This was your punishment for not reading those verses in Bible Aventures, sucka!) King of King is a pretty fun little collection, all told, and worth the couple of bucks to buy used or the few minutes spent searching for and downloading the emulated version.

Nintendo Logic: Behold the ancient Biblical knowledge of the Wisdom Tree programmers! They have discovered routes unmentioned in my Bible translation! Thanks to them, I can appreciate the time spent by the wise men going through subterranean bat-filled caves, the ''short cut'' taken by Mary and Joseph through the North pole(on a trip from Israel to Egypt, no less)and the short sojurn into the psychidelically-colored spike caverns of...I don't know WHO made those caverns, but if Mary and Joseph were stupid enough to take a route that went through the North Pole on their way to Egypt, I can't really be surprised that they stumbled into those caverns when looking for Jesus later on. Wisdom Tree always gets high scores in this category.
