"SWEEEEEET!"

Who says the NES went out with a whimper? This was one of the best platform/action games I have ever seen! Let's break down the story: 1. Huge spaceship bursts out of the moon. 2. 'Toads find that Dark Queen and Shadow boss control ship. 3. 'Toads team up with Billy and Jimmy Lee. 4. Butt-kicking commences. Hey, for an action game, the story doesn't get much better than that. What rocks is the GAMEPLAY, preserved from the original Battletoads in all of its animated glory. You thought the huge fists and feet were cool? Watch what the 'Toads and Dragons do when they get their hands on a Walker Leg! This is besides all of their enemy-specific attacks(some of which are funny, but so brutal to watch that you know Tradewest only did it because this was one of the last games for a system that most younger children wouldn't buy. Just check out how the 'Toads and Dragons beat up on the women with whips...I won't spoil it for you, but it's VERY painful to watch.) The music is less muted than the original, as is the dialogue. You will really enjoy listening to Prof. T. Bird verbally abuse the bosses after you beat them-that bird's got a "fowl" mouth! (Okay, okay, bad pun.) Graphics put less emphasis on detail, more on color. The levels are well designed and creative-one where you fight the Dark Queen's ship deserves a game of its own. This is the sort of game you play, beat(unlike the friggin' hard original) and then come back to about a month later for a nostalgia fix. Oh, and in this one you can EFFECTIVELY play with a friend, unlike the first, where both players had to practically be game gods to avoid killing each other. This game should most definitely be played with a friend. It WILL spark dialogue. Very creative and colorful dialogue. Buy it, or, more likely, download the ROM now! I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
