"RC Pro Am in boats!"

Cobra Triangle almost seems like a sequel to Rare's RC-Pro AM. Your objective is to guide your speed boat through several different stages ranging from the fun boat race to the strangely difficult waterfall stage. In fact, the waterfall stage is extremely hard because you get pushed along by currents, usually right into the deep void. This stage is the only real bad part of the game. Other stages include: target practice, saving swimmers from Alien abductors, and avoid the logs. It sounds a little weird, I know...
Anyway, if you were a fan of RC-Pro-Am then you will most likely dig Cobra Triangle. The play control is similar and it is a pretty challenging effort. A password would have been nice.

Graphics=8.0 The boats look good, though the backgrounds are rather uninspired. The bosses have a very Wizards and Warriors look to them ( such as the giant crab and the dragon). This is not bad thing! Nothing mind blowing, but nothing looks bad except for maybe the swimmers that the aliens abduct.

Sound=6.5 A step up from the normal RC-Pro AM tune, but still not that great. Rare (the company) NES games tend to not rely too much on music (Wizards and Warriors excepted.)

Challenge=9.2 Curse the waterfall stage!! %^#@#&!( Nothing ruins a perfectly good game like a sloppy unpredicatble stage right in the middle!

Story=? You drive a boat and save people and fight crabs and jump waterfalls...I think this is a skill game more than a plot driven adventure.

Play Control=8.5 Your boat is easy to manuver and outside of the waterfall stage, is a blast to drive!

Overall=7.4 Cobra Trianlge suffers from the bad stage syndrome, but other than that it is a pretty good game that is strangely addicting. A good challenge.
