Disney Adventures in the Magic Kingdom
Review by Donald Love 87
"A Disney game, and it's good!"
Adventures in the Magic Kingdom
As I said in the synopsis, this is actually a good Disney game (wow, unusual)! Maybe a little too short, but good.
Graphics: 9 - Very good for a NES-game! Colorful and sharp! The sprites are very detailed and it doesn't get as ''blurry'' as Talespin and other Disney game.
Sounds: 7 - Oh my, I just can't get these tunes out of my brain when I've played this game! Maybe not so very good but at least they get stuck in your brain. The sound effects could be better, or what do you say about ''vrooo'' and ''wooosh''? But you can't do it much better on a NES...
Difficulty: 7 - Well, finally a Disney game that fits the age that Disney games are meant for! Not too hard (I've got Disney games in my collection that I haven't completed yet), not too easy (Well, it's not fun to complete a game 100% in two days).
Controls: 9 - The controls... Well, it's hard to mess up with a controller with just four buttons and +...
This game actually works good with just four buttons and +! All of the minigames are easy to control, just as the main park.
Long living: 2 - Well, no. This game is definitley not long living. When you've completed the game, that's it, no more! No highscore, no timetable. When Disney games isn't long living because they're hard, they're not long living at all. Absolutely no replay value!
Play modes: 8 - Well, I don't know if we can call it Play Modes, but let's go... There are five minigames;
1. Pirates of the Carribbean - Platform game
2. Haunted Mansion - Another platform game
3. Big Thunder - 1/4 chance to get this one right, it's a mine cart race!
4. Autopia - NES Racing, overwhelming... <-Sarcasm
5. Space Mountain - The closest thing i can call this for is a ''Simon says'' game.
You have to complete all of them to complete the game. You can access all of them from the start in any order you want. You can also answer to Disney-related questions on your journey through the park.
TOTAL: 8 - This is good, for being a Disney game that is. The most developers could make a much better game with this material. But it's worth an eight score because it's original, and is easier compared to other Disney games.
''What character is known as Musse Pigg in Sweden?''
- One of the questions in the game. Funny, I'm from Sweden
