Gauntlet
Review by AzN SqUaLL
"I played this game when I was 6, and its still cool"
Wow, the memories. I remember buying this game at Ames when I was 6. Heh, I bragged about this game to everyone in school. This game is one of the first dungeon crawling game. It was good then and its still cool now. Ok, on to my review..
Graphics 7/10
Even though it looks ugly now, it was the bomb back in the days. Cool looking wizards, barbarians and monsters. This was one of the early games for the NES, and its still good. One of the cool looking games for the NES.
Sound 5/10
I dont really remember the music, all I remember is the sound effects of warping and shooting arrows. So I cant really give this a low or a high grade, so I'll just give it a 5. Its fair isnt it?
Gameplay 7/10
Cool, very cool. Its like a dungeon crawler. I think Vagrant Story is kinda like this game. But this game started it all. You can play as a Archer, wizard, barbarian and something else but I dont remember. But anyways you walk around killing monsters and collecting keys to reach new levels. If i could remember correctly its a two player game. You walk around killing monsters, colect keys to open doors and warp to places to collect hidden items. Very fun.
Replay Value 4/10
Once you finish the game you can play it again, but I doubt you will. It's very long and hard. This game for the hardcore gamer. Replay is for people who love this game and want to find all the hidden items. I dont think there was any ending for this game.
Overall 8/10
A very fun game, and one of the first dungeon crawlers. This game is rare to find nowadays, but if you have a NES and you wants some games for it get this. Its very fun, believe me.
