"An old classic that was the best game for its time, and is still great compared to some games today."

Gauntlet was a top down view action adventure game. It had everything that makes a good adventure. Four characters, a bunch of different enemies, different enemy strengths, and 100's of enemies per level. The four characters are a Wizard, with great magic but weak defense, an Elf, with blinding speed but really weak, a Valkyrie with good all around, and a Warrior who is big, dumb, slow, and weak with magic, but he packs one hell of a punch (well actually its an axe) There were also bombs used for clearing out the screen, secret exits, life upgrades, upgrades to speed, weapons, and bombs, 100 levels, multiple ways to go through the game and the list goes on and on. There were secret rooms that, if you collected a certain item, would give you a letter or number in a safe combo, and you need the entire combo if you hope to beat the game. The passwords are different each time. Another nice feature is the two player mode. It makes the game MUCH easier. You must also collect numerous keys. Many a time will you be stranded without a key, and will have to go find one somewhere in the level. There are also exits that bring you back a few levels.

Gameplay-(10) Everything about this game is great. The control is great, graphics are great, sound effects and music are great, and the challenge is INCREDIBLY HARD!

Story-(7) You have to save an orb from some demonic guy.

Replay Value-(8) Once you beat it, you might wanna try again as one of the other characters.

BUY THIS GAME RIGHT NOW!! It can be found cheap at Funcoland, and once you buy it, you wont put it down for about a month.
