"Yipee ki ya! Another bad video game!"

Movies being made into video games. Where can we draw the line? Is there a line to draw? No. There isn't because we don't know if a movie to video game conversion is going to turn out well. If we decide not to make it we could have deprived the world of a great game. If we go through with it we could also unleash a disaster for the world to shun. Hudson Hawk is one of those disasters. Its a video game conversion of the movie Hudson Hawk, starring Bruce Willis.

Story
It follows the story of the movie which wasn't that good. Eddie Hawkins AKA Hudson Hawk is the best the cat burgerler in the world. Two villians, Darwin and Minerva Mayflower are trying to rebuild the Alchemy Project. This device can make gold. They want Hawks help in building the machine and will hurt his friend if he refuses. Hawks help consists of stealing vaulable paintings. 5/10

Gameplay
You control Hudson Hawk through 3 levels each split into different areas of buildings. Along the way you will have to defeat some enemies. Some being ridiculous in nature and something a cat burgerler would probably never see.
For example there is a guy throwing garbage repeatedly out of a window. The other thing you will have to do is complete tasks in the buildings to achieve stealing the item of value. Most of these are along the lines of climbing ladders and jumping on platforms. Other tasks deal with getting in doors. There is way too much of this. There are other things burgelers do but I guess the programmers forgot to put something else in place. It doesn't help this game with its little variation. Also in the game are an over abundance of annoying traps. There are way to many and it makes the game unfun to play when they keep killing your character. 1/10

Control
The controls are simple. Down does all down movements. Left moves you left. Right moves you right. A jumps but the jumping is way too short and should have had a wider radius. B button throws a softball and can used for punching. This was a bad combo. I've pressed B to punch and ended up throwing a ball on several occasions. 3/10

Graphics
Graphics look like they were made by an under experienced programmer with one of slug things in his brain from Wrath of Kahn. First mistake is the way the main character looks. You have what is supposed to be a Bruce Willis type character. He has a huge head and shrunken badly shaped body. He is an ugly orange color. Then you have the enemies. They look badly shaped with color thrown in to tell what they are to make for animation that couldn't do it. The levels look like blocks of dark color thrown side by side. Shading is amauterish and looks like black blobs thrown behind objects. 1/10

Sound
This game has deplorable sound. The sounds of punching and things getting hit sounds garbled and unclear. The music is annoying and cheesy. It tries to be cat like and mysterious but you get the image of a bumbly under achiever bank robber being careless. 1/10

Replay-Ability
None at all. Hudson Hawk should be one game that is not in your NES line up. I can't remember anyone ever saying to me. "Hey lets go play some Hudson Hawk for Nes!" 0/10

Final Reccomendation
Never play this game. Its garage sale material that sits next to old cassetes, and hats.
