"Ugh!"

I thought Narc was gonna be a decent game, but I was wrong. This game has the crappiest graphics, the dumbest gameplay, and the worst control ever (aside from Heroes of the Lance of course).

Well, when I started, it skipped right to the mission briefing. No story, no intro sequence, and no clue as to why the heck I'm supposed to be killing people. From the looks of the control panel, it appeared to be a decent game.

When it got to the actual game, I was first resisting the urge to quit and delete the rom. The graphics are wayyy worse than even Duck Hunt. The characters look like blobs of red or blue or brown, and when an enemy is hit by a rocket, he explodes into several ugly chunks.

Well, I figured that the graphics were just the effect of being an NES game, and that the gameplay certainly received more effort. It certainly did-in making this game ultra-hard.

You either shoot enemies with a machine gun or rocket launcher or walk up to them to bust them. When you're touching an enemy, he'll raise his arms, but if you twitch away, then he'll start shooting again. There are so many enemies and they're so trigger happy that you'll probably take in 50 bullets before you get close enough to bust someone. Speaking of which, the enemies shoot as if they're trying to shoot each other rather than you. So, you end up shooting everyone, which isn't very hard to do. Very, very lame.

And now to the control (ugh!). You either hold a button or tap it to perform an action. If you hold B then it fires a machine gun, and if you tap it then you fire a rocket. A either makes you crouch or jump. Who thought of this stupid system anyway?

Crappy control, crappy graphics, and crappy gameplay. I forgot all about the music just trying to bear with these three bad things. This game is probably the worst beat-em-up (or rather beat-em-up by shooting-em-up) game I've ever played.
