The Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Mutants
Review by Hiryuu
"Bart must stop the space mutants from taking over"
The Simpsons have went on to be one of the most successful cartoons of all time. They've been going strong for near a decade now, and they show no sign of slowing down, so it's not surprising to know that there have been a few Simpson games released down the road.
Bart is the only person who knows about the Space Mutants plan to take over the world, so he has to stop them. In each level, the Space Mutants need to get a different thing to power their machine. For example in the first level, they need purple things, so Bart has to spray paint, cover up, or just destroy everything that's purple. In the second level it's hats, in the third balloons, and so on. Bart has X-ray glasses he uses to tell if the people walking the streets of Springfield are human or alien. If they're alien, Bart can jump on their head and earn a letter of that level's family member. If he spells out the family member's name, he/she will help Bart in the fight against the boss.
The graphics are ok, but I've definately seen better. Bart looks like Bart, but he looks choppy too. The characters have a Groening-ish look to them, but aren't recognizable from the show. The sound also get repetative after a while, and you may want to reach for the mute button.
The challenge factor is definately abundant in this game. It'll take a long time to get through this game, especially because Bart controls so poorly. It's good for a rent, but probably not to buy. If you have a friend with this game, ask him if you can borrow it. It's worth a play at least.
