"Yuck... the WORST superhero game I've ever played"

I always loved SuperMan. Those of you who saw Kill Bill remember the discussion they have about the glory of SuperMan. The concept of a super hero that's so amazing that he has to "pretend" to be normal is so cool, and totally differs from other superheroes, who start normal and become amazing (Or the X-Men, who don't try to fit in, but are proudly freakish.)

The comic, movies, and even the various shows were great. SuperMan simply is a cool superhero.

...However, leave it to the videogame designers to take a great concept and turn it into a video game. Superman is one such videogame, and it's one that you ought to stay away from.

Super Man takes the basic concept of SuperMan as you know it. You can assume the form of either Clark Kent or of SuperMan. There are few reasons to use Clark as opposed to SuperMan; Clark cannot fight to save his life, nor use any super powers. As Superman, you can fly, use heat vision, "Super Breath", and various other things.
However, there's something strange about SuperMan this time through; you are harmed by bullets, and you have VERY limited power. Flying all you want! No way! Yea, you can jump high, but you have to come straight back down. Full-on flying? You can only do that half a dozen times for short intervals before you run out of power.

Fortunately, killing badguys will refill your guage, but WATCH OUT for the kryptonite. If you touch that, you'll take damage! Why badguys carry super power and kryptonite, you ask? I'm not really sure...

The storyline follows SuperMan as we know and love him. You fight the criminals (and there sure are a lot of gun-blazing criminals, aren't there.) in the name of Truth, Justice and the American Way. Beyond that, there's not much to it.

Graphics were fine- the characters are ridiculously proportioned, but that's nothing new for NES, now is it? The bullets may be the size of your arm, but that's OK! If they were to scale, you'd never see them, anyway.

Music follows the movies, with allowances for the fact that it's NES, and therefore not great. Still, it's certainly a game highlight.

I'm a SuperMan fan, as I imagine you are. Still, I'd NEVER recommend this game to anyone; I'd hate to be responsible for wasting your time and money.
