Name of a game?

Is there an NES game where you walk around on a yellow or gold brick road or path & you have to eat food or you die??? I think I played a game like this years ago but don't remember the name & would like to have it if it exists & can find it.

Sounds a bit like Ultima: Exodus, but not enough for me to be sure of it. Gauntlet may be another possibility.
