Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
Review by BurnsU
"The best portable Tony Hawk ever made."
Wow. That's all I can say after playing this game. I've tried other portable entries, but none were nearly as good. This game is a masterpiece and is the "Ocarina of Time" of sports games. The newer console Tony Hawk games are good, but you should still get an N-Gage and play this game. You'll appreciate the entertainment it offers.
In this review, I will talk about the gameplay, the graphics, the sound, and the replay value. I may also talk about some other things if I feel it is necessary.
GAMEPLAY(10/10) - The most important part of a game is the gameplay. This game is everything you'd expect. There are plenty of locations, missions, and game modes, and they each have their own unique feel. From the streets to the garages and skate parks, you will never feel like you're just skating in the same places all the time. There are also a good variety of moves that you achieve by pressing buttons. Almost as many unique moves as the console games. You can also customize your skateboard and unlock additional ownage.
GRAPHICS(10/10) - The graphics are fantastic. The best I've ever seen on the N-Gage. It all runs at a smooth framerate and the environments are beautiful. They might not be PSP-level graphics, but they're definitely close.
SOUND(10/10) - The sound is great. The sound of grinding on rails and doing spins in the air sound almost exactly like they do in real life. It's almost as if I'm right there following somebody and watching them skate. Totally unparalleled sound here, folks. The music is also great, but music has more to do with personal preference, so I can't really rate that.
REPLAY VALUE(10/10) - A seemingly endless amount of missions will keep you coming back for more. It's also fun just to skate around in free mode. Some may also like to beat their high scores on certain levels. Basically, it's a perfect amount of replay value for a game such as this.
All in all, since the game is cheap, you'll get a good value for your money. Buy it if you like Tony Hawk games. If you don't have an N-Gage, get an N-Gage just to play this. This is assuming you're a die hard Tony Hawk fan like me. If you aren't then only get this if you happen to have an N-Gage already.
