"A really fun game, and a great game"

Some believed that Rollercoaster Tycoon wouldn't deliver the goods when it first released on the PC, but it seemed that many of them were wrong. Rollercoaster Tycoon is a game that lets you develop your own amusement park, thus giving you total control over everything (cash, rides, staff, etc).

The graphics in the game are great, rides look real and superb. They are not rides which are used in real life, just fictional Rollercoasters, but they look great. All the rides look superb, from Merry-Go-Round to a Log Flume, it definitely gives you the feeling that you're owning a real park.

Your guests in the park are small, as you have quite a high-up view of your park, but you can see their faces and such. So, you can see if a person is nearly going to be sick, as he will have Green all over his face, thus making him/her look like Frankenstein.

You can hire staff, the staff members who you can hire are listed below:

Handymen: Clean the park, sweep footpaths, clean up sick, water plants, mow the grass, etc.

Mechanics: Fix your rides, if they have broken down.

Security Guard: Keeps the violence away.

Entertainer: Entertains your people, you can choose from a Tiger, Panda or an Elephant for his costume.

They look realistic, and you can tell who's who. I'm really impressed with the graphical sights in Rollercoaster Tycoon.

There is also tons of levels to play, each with their own objective for you to do. They look so real, especially the Deserts and the Lakes on the game. You can do nearly everything on Rollercoaster Tycoon, even build your own paths, each with their own slating, which looks good also. Everything looks great graphically.

Onto the audio. You can hear people screaming and going ''AHHHH!'' when going down a slope on a particular ride, which adds realism. It doesn't get that repeative either, which is good. Throughout your park, depending on how many guests you have, you will hear people talking and laughing, all of that. It's tremendously realistic.

If you build such rides as a Merry-Go-Round or Dodgems, music will be added to your park in the area where the ride is featured. Merry-Go-Round is a fun, calm and loud piece of music, while the Dodgems is a funky low piece of music. Sometimes the Merry-Go-Round sound can get really annoying, and you might have to turn the sound off. It doesn't bother you too much though, you'll be too addicted to cleaning up sick!

The controls are really simple, you just use your mouth. You can use the directional keys to move faster around your park, but all you need is a mouse basically. You can name people in your park, or name rides, or name your park to anything you want, so you will obviously need a keyboard if you want to name stuff. But, it's just regularly a mouse, and you'll be left and right clicking for a lot of the time.

Rollercoaster Tycoon is a really fun game, and with friends, it's also really fun. You can name people in the park, so maybe you can name a few your friend's names, which is quite fun. To develop your own theme park i thought was really excellent, i'm really impressed.

When you start off, the first level is really easy, but that's just a warm-up, you will soon move onto the more tougher levels, which last for about 3-4 years (Game time) and are really huge parks, so you will have to watch for sick and everything. But huge parks are mainly good, as you will get the ability to build tons and tons of Rollercoasters, which will keep the guests entertained at all times.

Onto replayability. Once you've completed all of the game, which will take you years, you can always replay levels as you get like a rating of how much your park was, so maybe you can replay the levels and try and get a bigger value. There is tons to do, but it will take you forever to complete the whole game, so don't worry about this just yet.

Overall, i think that Rollercoaster Tycoon is a fantastic and a very enjoyable game. You should definitely buy it, if you like to play fun games and have the task of owning a theme park at your feet. With tons of levels, loads of different rides, what more can you want? Buy Rollercoaster Tycoon!
