1. Version History

Version 1.0, 14/08/2009
Now the walkthrough is completed. I just put the missed maps in the
Weapons setion and it's ready, now it's all done and I just need to post
this walkthrough on. Finally.

Version 0.95, 13/08/2009
It's been awhile since day 10. That's because my computer got locked up
and I haven't fond the glitch. Anyway, I just completed the Weapons
setion by putting the maps where each weapon is found. Even the
Redeemer, which has its own setion, I had to put. It took me a long
because I needed to play all the maps to grant where each weapon is.

Version 0.78, 10/08/2009
Today was a good day because I made up the setion Weapons, Support
Items, FAQ and Greatfulness. It took me much time, but it's worth a good
work. Also, the great Redeemers Location setion has been done. Have fun
of it.

Version 0.12, 09/08/2009
I began to do the walkthough, and for awhile only the title, content
chart and introduction were in. I wasn't waiting for the Basic setion,
it got ready also in this day. Good, I really like to finish my
walkthroughs as early as I can.

3. Introduction
========================================================================

For a long time Unreal Tournament had been my favorite PC game because I
could distract me for hours of ammusement. After the crappy Unreal
Tournament U letter icon ASCII art, I have to say this an in-depth guide
which will tell about all the items of the game, also my first in-depth
walkthrough. I chose this kind of file because after typing Pokemon
Mystery Dungeon Rescue Red Team I wanted an easy job, so I chose this.
This is my first purely English walkthrough because up to now I've done
walkthroughs in Portuguese and translated them into English only. Any
Grammar or unfamiliar expression should be explained due that. Have fun
with the info within!

4. Basic
========================================================================

Basically I divided the items in three groups, the weapons, the ammo and
the support items. Weapons are items used by you to kill other players
or bots while the ammo allows you to use the weapon. Support items are
like medicinal items or any other shield-looking function.

Every weapon you get in the game is shown at the bottom of the screen.
There should be space for ten weapons, from number 1 to number 9. You
can change your weapon for the next one by press the = key or just
choose straight the weapon you want by pressin its respective number.
More than a weapon may occupies the slot 1 and 0, so you have to press
the keys twice.

To turn off the pictures of the weapons and your health just keep
pressing - key until they go off. If you want them back then you have to
press the + key. I like to have them showing up to me how my health is
and also the current weapons I have. It's very useful once you can know
if you need ammo, and also other things like the rank you're classified.

To get a support item just touch it. Weapons are also on the same way,
however when you touch a weapon that you don't have and it is better
than the current weapon you're holding, then you set up it as the new
weapon. No problem, just take back the weapon you get by pressing its
number. Getting a weapon you already have will just add some ammo if the
weapons in the map were set to disappear when gotten.

It isn't the purpose of this guide teaching you how to control weapon,
but the basically I can say is that there are two kinds of fire you can
execute. One is by pressing the left mouse button, which is the primary
fire. The other is by pressing the right mouse button, which is the
secondary fire, maybe better than the left one. This is what makes
Unreal Tournament so cool.

5. Weapons
========================================================================

You can see an explanation about the weapons by clicking at "Options"
and after in "Weapons" so. But here I'll make my own monolog about each
one of them, and even in what maps they're found. Each weapon info I did
is based in the model below and they're in the order they're shown at
the bottom of the screen:

Name of the Weapon: [the name of the weapon]
Primary Fire: [you get it by pressing the left mouse button]
Secondary Fire: [you get it by pressing the right mouse button]
Techniques: [a trick to use it, no cheat and no code]
Number Slot: [what number you have to press if you want it]
Maps: [the maps where you can find this weapon]
Explosion Hit: [if its fire may hurt yourself if you're too near]
Power: [per fire I give a mark from 1 to 5 to its power]

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name of the Weapon: Impact Hammer

Primary Fire: Hold the trigger down and touch opponent with this pistol
              to inflict a massive damage.

Secondary Fire: Damages a bit opponent at close range and has the
                ability to deflect projectiles.

Techniques: Shoot at ground to jump extra high. The game suggest this
and I've already applied this a lot of times, but you'll
            get hurt, though.

Number Slot: 1

Maps: This weapon isn't found in any map. You always have it unless you
had selected Chainsaw Melee as a Mutator to use.

Explosion Hit: You get hurt if you use primary or secondary fire at
close range of almost everything that isn't a player.

Power: In general this isn't a powerful weapon in spite of you can
cause a great damage on foe by using the primary fire.

Impact Hammer will be you standard weapon whether you have no other
weapon or if you run out of ammo. It has the primary fire which is good,
but requires very close distance once you have to touch it on foe, so if
you're too far of a foe player it may use an Impact Hammer as well or
kill before you get near enough to this weapon works.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name of the Weapon: Translocator

Primary Fire: It lauches the destination module. Throw it to where you'd
              like to teleport to.

Secondary Fire: Activates the teleport and you're teleported to the
                location where you threw it.

Techniques: You can kill instantly any enemy by teleporting into its
body. You just need to launch your destination module under
it and press the secondary fire. Also, when you use the
secondary fire just press the primary fire to the last
weapon used by you returns automatically. Destination
module when placed can get off its place if an explosion
            occurs near it.

Maps: Practice Mode allows you to select whether each player will
have this device at start of the match or not.

Number Slot: 1

Explosion Hit: No explosion, neither primary fire nor secondary fire
will hurt you whichever way you use them

Power: Although you can use it to kill instantly any enemy, I won't
include power here because that's not the purpose of this weapon.

Very useful if you want to reach high places like crates, pipes and
several plataforms that lies support items. Using this teleporter
requires many experience because it's lauched in a rectilinear line, so
a curve is done and the far you want to reach, higher you have to aim
and the higher you aim, higher it'll go but closer to you though.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name of the Weapon: Chainsaw Melee

Primary Fire: Hold the trigger down to cause damage sucessively until
              opponent health is dead.

Secondary Fire: The blade is swung horizontally and depending on
opponent's body part you hit it may die instantly.

Techniques: It's recognizable loud can avoid opponents to hear audio
cues where you probably are located or moving on.

Maps: This weapon is given to you instead Impact Hammer if you select
      it at Mutators.

Number Slot: 1

Explosion Hit: No explosion, using this weapon is very safe

Power: Not powerful, nor too weak, power 1 so

Chainsaw Melee sucks, I prefer Impact Hammer, though. It doesn't matter
if Impact Hammer may hurt myself, I can take some medicinal items so. If
you're a good dodger, then avoiding opponent's shots is the only
requirement you have to hit it with this item. Also, try to use the
secondary fire once killing it instantly is better than sucessively.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name of the Weapon: Enforcer

Primary Fire: It is accurate and its instant hit firing is slow.

Secondary Fire: Sideways mode, it's twice as fast and half as accurate.

Techniques: Collect other Enforce and you can use two in the meantime.

Number Slot: 2

Maps: No map, you always have it

Explosion Hit: No explosion

Power: Very good weapon, mostly if you have two Enforcers instead one

Where get more one Enforcer? At the beginning of the match or if a foe
has just appeared after dying, probably Enforcers are being used by
players intead the Impact Hammer (or Chainsaw Melee), so try to kill an
opponent foe and get the Enforcer it drops off when died. I strongly
like to use two Enfrocers, but I prefer better weapons than using it for
the cooler it is.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name of the Weapon: GES Bio Rifle

Primary Fire: Wadds of acid (I think that's it) is thrown at medium rate
              of fire.

Secondary Fire: Hold down the trigger to launch a lagger wad of acid
that will burst into smaller wads.

Techniques: Every acid wad won't burst before glueng a surface unless
it hits an opponent before. So you can cover a wall or a
corredor with them, making that a dangerous place.

Number Slot: 3

Maps: DM-Barricade AS-Frigate CTF-Command DOM-Cinder

      DM-Liandri
      DM-Peak
      DM-Phobos
      DM-Pyramid
      DM-Tempest
      DM-Turbine

Explosion Hit: Firstly if you shot at a wall the wad will glue it, and
that does not hurt you. A little time after the wad will
explode and that hurts if you're too close.

Power: This weapon is powerful, poor accuracy, though.

The curve way made by the acid wad of this weapon is the only bad
critical point you have in. In close combats this weapon should be very
good, but the wad isn't a fast "bullet", so a good enemy could escape of
it. Most of the players should consider this a good weapon, but it's not
and once you have to get near foe to hurt it its wads may hurt yourself,
what happened with me a lot of times.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name of the Weapon: Shock Rifle

Primary Fire: Instant laser hit.

Secondary Fire: This is large fire, but slow.

Techniques: Hitting the secondary fire with the primary fire will resul
in a immensely powerful explosion. I've used this lots of
            times.

Number Slot: 4

      DM-Zeto

Explosion Hit: Only the secondary fire will hurt you in case you're
too close of the target it hits.

Power: This is a normal weapon damage

The best thing on this weapon is that its primary fire is very fast, as
fast as I never saw any opponent getting out it by now. I strongly don't
recomend to apply its technique once it requires many idleness. What I
mean is although the secondary fire is slow, it's not an easy target to
hit though using the primary fire so if you want to cause generate that
explosion the best you could do is stopping to move yourself and fire
only.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name of the Weapon: Pulse Gun

Primary Fire: Medium sized, fast plasma balls are fired at fast rage of
              fire (like a machine gun).

Secondary Fire: A bolt of green lightning is expelled for 100 meters.
It'll hurt any enemy that touches it.

Techniques: Firing and keeping secondary fire's lightning on an opponent
            will melt him in secons.

Number Slot: 5

      DM-Stalwart
      DM-StalwartXL
      DM-Tempest
      DM-Turbine
      DM-Zeto

Explosion Hit: No explosion and no damage

Power: Not very powerful, not too weak

Pulse Gun is a good weapon while you don't have anything better. Once
it's secondary fire won't hit any foe out of 100 meters range, so it's
limited for you. The primary fire is good, but not fast enough to hit a
opponent that likes to jump and to move from left to right and such. The
best you can do with this is melting a foe, so narrow fields are said to
have this weapon as good choice of better weapon.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name of the Weapon: Ripper

Primary Fire: Razor sharp disks are launched at medium rate of speed.
Shots will ricochet off of any surfaces.

Secondary Fire: Explosive disks are launched at slow rate of speed.

Techniques: Aim for the necks of your opponents.

Number Slot: 6

      DM-Peak
      DM-Phobos
      DM-Pressure
      DM-Tempest
      DM-Turbine
      DM-Zeto

Explosion Hit: The primary fire may hurt yourself if the launched disk
ricochet off a surface back to you. The secondary fire
will hurt you if you touch the explosion.

Power: Very good

I prefer this weapon than some other considered good, like the Minigun.
You just need to aim in the head of opponent and one disk will instantly
kill it. Do you want any thing other better than this? Using this weapon
requires attention because if a wall is behind the foe you're trying to
kill the disks launched by the primary fire may back to you, even your
neck if you don't fire them carefuly.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name of the Weapon: Minigun

Primary Fire: Has good accurate and bullets are fired at a medium to a
              fast rate of fire.

Secondary Fire: Fires twice as fast and half as accurate.

Techniques: At close range you have no better option than using the
secondary fire. But it's faster so lots of ammunition will
            be spent away.

Number Slot: 7

      DM-Pressure
      DM-StalwartXL
      DM-Tempest
      DM-Turbine
      DM-Zeto

Explosion Hit: No explosion

Power: There's no how judge only one fire of this weapon once the real
damage you cause on an opponent is the total of the bullets you
spent, so I consider this a medium weapon once each shell is as
precious as long as you keep firing on foe.

I think the only reason for this weapon be in this game is that a first
person shotter style game like this ought to have a "fast shells shotter
weapon", so I have nothing to explain about once nothing special is in
the weapon. Neither the primary fire is so far different from the second
fire. Surely it's better than the Enforcers.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name of the Weapon: Flak Cannon

Primary Fire: The kind of fire this weapon uses is shotgun-style. White
hot scraps of metal are sprayed forth.

Secondary Fire: Fires forth a grenaded.

Techniques: Primary fire's damage is as high as closer the enemy is
            of the weapon.

Explosion Hit: Both fires will hurt you. The secondary one is said to
cause a bigger damage than first one.

Power: Powerful, mostly at close combats

Just keep distance of an opponent that is using this weapon once most of
it's damage depends on close combat as its primary fire undoes along the
distance it travels. I adore to use the secondary fire of this weapon
and the primary fire is used by me only when foe is very close. If
you're a beginner trainer this is a good weapon to you train aimming and
dodging strategies.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name of the Weapon: Rocket Launcher

Primary Fire: Slow moving, but deadly rockets are fired at opponent.

Secondary Fire: Throws rockets also, but they'll bounce off the ground.

Techniques: Keeping this weapon pointed at an opponent will cause it to
lock on and the next rocket becomes a homing rocket. By
holding down the trigger you can fire up to six rockets at
once. This feature can be turned off in the Mutators.

Explosion Hit: Both explosion will hurt you, and even kill you depending
on how much missiles you fired.

Power: Very much powerful. You can cause a bigger damage by firing
       more rockets.

This is my favorite weapon, and probably everyone that plays Unreal
Tournament will like it too. Close combats are not good, mostly if
you're using the secondary fire. Locking on an opponent takes a while so
I suggest you to fire more than one rocket because that's the sucking
feature of this weapon that no other has in the whole game.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name of the Weapon: Sniper Riffle

Primary Fire: Fires a high powered bullet. Can instantly kill any
enemy if it hits the cranium.

Secondary Fire: Zooms the riffle in, up to eight times normal vision.
Allows accuracy for hundred of yards away. Pressing the
secondary fire will turn your vision back to normal.

Techniques: Hit opponent's head to get a headshot.

Explosion Hit: No explosion

Power: Great weapon

Large maps should have this weapon and something like a tower to you
stand aimming. It's not good staying stopped in the game even to watch
an area but the great purpose of this weapon is that. I rarely went into
a match only with it because its speed rate of fire is slow, but to kill
a foe at away distance I've already used it lots of times.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name of the Weapon: Redeemer

Primary Fire: Fires a huge missile that moves slowly. Upon striking a
solid surface it'll explode and sent out a gigantic wave,
instantly pulverizing anyone or anything within its
colossal radius, including yourself and allies.

Secondary Fire: Take control of the missile and fly it anywhere. You can
use the primary button to explode it early.

Techniques: You can move your player while this missile is being
controlled. Also if an enemy manages to hit your incoming
missiles while it's in air, it'll explode harmlessly.

Explosion Hit: No chance of surviving if you're within its explosion

Power: Huge, very huge power

This weapon is as good as you've read above. When you swtich on just
notice how its size almost blocks your vision of what is at your front.
Beware on using it. A trick I give you is to fire it into places where
more players are matching, so you can kill more at once. You can't have
more than 2 ammo of this weapon at a time and also few maps have it.

6. Support Items
========================================================================

Support Items are not used to hurt foe, but they'll make your player
becomes protected by armors or healing your health up. They're very good
and I'll explain how they work based on the model below. Also, they're
in alphabetic order, even whether that helps or not you find the support
item you want to. This setion will not be so extensive like the previous
one.

  Support Item: [its name]
Appearance: [how you can recognize this item on map based on its
physical features, so I'll describe it for you]
Effect: [the benefiticiary effect it makes for you]
Location: [some of this items are far hidden, so I'll mention it]

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Support Item: AntiGrav Boots

Appearance: As the own name says, it probably looks like boots

Effect: The next three jumps you do will be very high jumps. Also,
you can fall from higher places without getting hurt. These
boots don't protect you from very much high places.

Location: Easy places. If these boots are on the map, there are
probably high places to reach or a good support item hidden
          in a high area.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Support Item: Big Keg O' Health +100

Appearance: A bag, or a can... Hard to say... It's the biggest item!

Effect: Adds +100 poins to your health whether you have a hundred
        points of health or not.

Location: Generally the location is hard or far of the central place
of the field, but as it is white and big, most of the times
you easily can notice this item.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Support Item: Body Armor

Appearance: It seems like an armor to your bust

Effect: Puts armor on your bust. If opponents wants to hit your bust,
firstly it must to destroy the armor on it

Location: Easy places, no trouble to get it

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Support Item: Damage Amplifier

Appearance: Two geometric figures that makes a "V".

Effect: For a short time all the your weapons have power doubled. Also,
your weapons' appearance becomes transparent pink-colored.

Location: Most of the times this weapon is in a visible place.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Support Item: Health Pack +20

Appearance: A box with a blue X on it

Effect: Recovers 20 of your health. You don't surpass the one hundred
ammount of points on healt if you get this item.

Location: Easy places, don't worry about its location

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Support Item: Health Vial +5

Appearance: Cylindrical tube with a blue liquid inside

Effect: Adds 5 points to your health even whether you have one hundred
        points on health or more.

Location: Places that you don't need to make a good effort to reach

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Support Item: Invisibility

Appearance: An strange black support with a transparent thing on it

Effect: User becomes invisible for a short ammount of time. Any opponent
will see a bit your body because you do not become totaly
        invisible, but somewhat very transparent.

Location: Most of the times on a accessable location

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Support Item: Shield Belt

Appearance: A white thick belt

Effect: By getting it you have 150 points of shield with should be like
150 more points to your health once to hurt your health first
the points of the shield must be taken down to zero.

Location: Behind doors, high places, strongly hard locations

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Support Item: Tight Pads

Appearance: Shin protectors

Effect: Puts armor on your shin.

Location: Usually in easy places.

7. Redeemer Locations
========================================================================

I wanted to create this setion because in some map youan find the
Redeemer, the most powerful weapon in the whole game. I think you have
found some or all the Redeemers, so take a look below and grants that
you found all them. The pair of letter before the name of the name means
its game type, so DM is Deathmatch while DOM is Domination, you got it.

DM-Barricade
On top of the castle you can notice three big towers. From anyone of
them you can jump onto the plataform where the Redeemer is located. The
right way to get it is by jumping with the AntiGav Boots, but in case
you don't have them, so this way I use is a good trick.

DM-Convenyor
It's hard to say where is the Redeemer because nothing special is in the
point where it is located. By going up the bigger mat of the map you can
notice it turns to left at top. Get the right way and follow the
corridor, you'll be in a place with vents above. Jumping onto the vents
stairs you can reach a tube where the Redeemer is.

DM-Deck 16 ][
In the lowest area of this map you can find an acid pool. Near it is a
teleport. Touch it and you appear in a narrow area, and at your front is
the Redeemer.

DM-Gothic
I couldn't imagine how a cave style map like this could have a Redeemer.
The room you find it is the largest room in the whole map, there are
three pilars on it and also two equal stairs at the side of each other.

DM-KGaleon
This huge ship has the Redeemer in the most logical place, on top of a
mast. The mast where you have to go up has a AntiGav boots right under a
blaze. Fire anything in that blaze and the elevador will come down, hop
on it and ride up to your Redeemer. I don't know any else way to make
this plataform go down when you're there up unless firing from above in
that same blaze. Tough!

DM-Liandri
This field has many corridors and rooms, so I'll say the floor where the
Redeemer is firstly. In the central area of the map, the big round room,
go to the entrance with five Health Vial +5 near it. The right entrance
is the nearer one that takes you to the room where Redeemer is located.

DM-Morbias
Very easy to find the Redeemer here. It is in the middle of the map.
It's hard getting Redeemer once the middle of the map is the central
area, where most of the players will be matching, so hardly you'll find
Redeemer on unless you keep watching for it.

DM-Morpheus
On the higher tower of the higher building. Easy to find, hard to get
due the low gravity. This map is one of the best to use the Redeemer,
just take a good view of where are most of the players and launch the
rocket!

DOM-MetalDream
There is a room with a teleport. Look for the one nearer the and you'll
appear on the highest place of the map, where a Redeemer is located.

DM-StalwartXL
I got impressed when I found the Redeemer in this cave style map. There
is a garage door (there are on total two garage door in this map, this
one is near the red car). Open the door and go toward the corridor,
you'll find the Redeemer.

CTF-Face
Each team base has your own Redeemer location which you reach by going
into the teleport base. But that doesn't impede you to invade opponent's
base to get other Redeemer. It should be easier you wait for a while
other Redeemer appear in your own base to you have two, though.

CTF-Gauntlet
This crappy map has a Redeemer behind a door. This door is at the
central area in the map

CTF-LavaGiant
It is located in the left-most cave at front of red base (or red-most
cave at front of blue base). Be wary on getting it, there is a pit with
lava under the pole where it's standing.

DOM-Gearbolt
Hard saying where is it here because this map has not many special
areas. By going down the lift point take the right way and hugging on
the wall you can find Redeemer in the stair down. We could say at the
second floor of the room with four square pillars is where it is.

8. FAQ
========================================================================

Q.: At your support items setion is saying that some items may be found
behind doors. How I find those doors and how to open them?

A.: Not every door found in the game is a door to be open. But if its
door can be, probably is for a purpose, behind it should be one or more
items. To open a door that is hidding something just shoot the secondary
fire on it at close distance and it'll open. A good example to you see
this working is on Turbine DeathMatch map. There is a place in with
three doors, the middle one can be opened.

Q.: There isn't any setion about ammo. Why?

A.: It's no use putting this setion in here once the ammo most of the
times is near the weapon it belongs to. Also, a part of the name of the
ammo has the name of the weapon in most of the cases. So Rocket
Launcher's ammo is named rocket pack while Pulse Gun's ammo is named
Pulse Cells. It's an easy thing to record knowing the ammo of each
weapon. Only Redeemer does not have ammo, so if you want to raise the
ammo tube of your Redeemer get other Redeemer.

Q.: Is there cheat codes to get weapons for free?

A.: Yes, there are cheat codes. I have them and you can even arm up a
Redeemer with 999 ammo. Too much!

Q.: Won't you tell the cheat codes to get the weapons?

A.: Oh, no! This is an Unreal Tournament item in-depth guide, nor a
cheat code guide, but a in-depth guide.

Q.: What's your favorite weapon, Bruno?

A.: I have some weapons as favorite and I select using them depending on
the field I'm going to. Most of the times the Rocket Launcher and Sniper
Riffle are the weapon I use, and the Redeemer when I have it, of course.

Q.: You missed the weapon _____ in the map. And now?

A.: Warn me about it, send me an e-mail telling where it its and I'll
scan the map for the weapon. If it's really in it, so you deserve your
nickname in the Thanksfulness setion. This is valid also for the
Redeemer, but I'm pretty sure I didn't forget anyone of them.

Q.: Several times you said something about "Mutators". What is this?

A.: It's a button in the Pratice Mod screen. It brings you out to
another screen where you can change normal things in battle like the
Chainsaw Melee instead the Impact Hammer and a missile at once for the
Launcher Rocket, for example. Several things besides weapon can be
changed in it like no gravity and else.

Q.: In Weapons setion you located the map where each weapon is found.
Won't you do that with the support items?

A.: Some support items are not found in every map and I won't tell in
which maps they're found. Just look out for roofs, vents and else.

9. Thanksfulness
========================================================================

I got no help to do this walkthrough because I had the game and it gave
me all the support I need, so nobody to give credits, but I'd like to
thank you that read it, or just took a look. I would like to thank UT
creator and IdiotsOpposite for being my resource to ask about English.

========================================================================
10. Contact
========================================================================
Any doubt about any weapon just send me an-email, but I think nothing to
ask is left once you learn a lot more by playing instead reading this
guide. Also, don't ask me anything about Unreal Tournament 2003 and 2004
because this is an item guide for Unreal Tournament only. If you read my
walkthrough I'd like to receive an e-mail for just "Oh! I read your
walkthrough" because I don't know if people are looking for a guide like
this so once we have UT 2003 and 2004 out and at least in my country,
Brazil, people prefers Counter Strike.
