"Wow yourself with this game."
Welcome to Thief II: The Metal Age. If you choose to play this game, be prepared. Be prepared for great graphics, sound, and action. This game is great, and if you like games with a lot of action and violence, get this game. If you do not like games with a lot of action and violence, do not get this game, because the whole game is based around action and violence.
This plot is fairly simple. You play the role of Garrett, who is a thief. Your job is to be a perfect thief, stealing from the local merchants, without being caught. If you do happen to be caught, you carry some weapons with you, to strike back with. Though this game is not about hurting people; it is about being the best thief you can be.
The sound on this game is great. From your sword hitting a chest, to your hands touching the goods that will soon be yours, the sound is there, and it sounds very realistic and clear. Though, you should be not making a noise, which is not good, because you must be silent in order to succeed.
The graphics on this game are beautiful. Every object, including bodies, is fully animated. Every image does not have any bumps or discoloration, and everything is in 3D. Make sure you have a 3D accelerated video card before playing, because otherwise, the graphics will look really odd and you will have a hard time playing.
Fun Level: 10/10
This game is very fun and full of action. Even if you play it for 10 hours straight, this game is still fun. It is so hard to be bored in this game, you can keep on playing it for months and still enjoy it.
If you are very sensitive to violence, you may not like some violent scenes in this game, which are somewhat graphic.
Buy vs. Rent
I would rent this game first to test it, and then buy it if I liked it, because this game is not for everybody. You should buy this game if you liked Tomb Raider, because both games are similar. You will also like this game if you like action filled games, because this game has a lot of action.
If you are a parent and your son/daughter is under the age of 17, think before you purchase this game for him/her, because it contains violence, and promotes ''Thievery is good to do''. Thus, it is rated ''M'' for mature by the ESRB.
If you have finished your task, you will still have fun to re-play it, because there are 3 different levels of game play, and you have so many choices in this game that you can do differently. You could play this game for a long time and still enjoy it.
Overall, I give this game a 9, for a great plot, excellent sound, brilliant graphics, and easy fun.
