1.1- The Cemetary
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Leave the tavern and Kain will be swarmed by assassins.  You can attempt to
fight them off but they will simply keep coming until Kain is dead.  After the
scene in which Kain is reborn as a vampire, you will be in a mausoleum.  To
proceed, there is a green switch on the north wall of the room that will open
the door to the west.  In this room you will obtain the Sanctuary Spell, which
will return you to the Cemetary at any time if you need to retreat.

Walk North, where you will find a Crypt Keeper.  Simply attack him until he
starts to sway, at which point you can replenish Kain by sucking his blood.
This also unlocks the room to the East, where you will find the a Heart of
Darkness, which restores Kain's health.  Push the boulder North to continue,
where a green floor switch will unlock a room to the West.  This room contains
Health Vial #1 to extend Kain's health, a chained human to feed on, and another
floor switch.

Walk to the now-opened Eastern room, where another human is chained and Glyph 
#1 lies, which extends Kain's magic.  Go back to the center room and push the 
green switch in the Northern corner to proceed North.  Kill the Skeleton and go
East to save your game if you so choose.  Go back and proceed North, where you 
should follow the path to outside the Mausoleum.  Go south, following the dirt 
path until you come to another crypt.

Enter it and follow the only path, killing Skeletons and Crypt Keepers.  Be
sure to collect Health Vial #2 and Glyph #2 in plain sight.  Continue North to
anothe area of the Crypt.  Here, press the green switch near the spikes to
allow passage to the West.  Press another green switch to continue and follow
the path where three green switches are aligned on the North wall.  Press the
left and center switch to remove the spikes and proceed West.

There is an invisible switch near the door that will open it where Kain will
receive the first Flay, a useful weapon.  Continue North to the next area of
the crypt.  To the East of this first room is a coffin that can be opened to
get a Heart of Darkness.  Continue along the path to find another coffin with a
Flay in it.  Push the boulders to the West and kill the Skeletons to proceed
North.

Here you will find a chest on the right that contains Glyph #3, along with a
Heart of Darkness in the other right chest.  Continue to the West to enter the
4th area of the Crypt.  Here you can save and proceed south to enter another
part of the Cemetary.  Follow the dirt path out of the Cemetary and Kain will
encounter his assassins.  Proceed to kill every one until Kain goes into some
more dialogue about how he can finally rest.

1.2- The Pillars of Nosgoth

The Necromancer will inform Kain to seek out the Pillars.  Proceed East to find
the town of Ziegsturhl.  Here you can kill and feed on many villagers.  You can
enter houses to find items inside barrels and such.  Eventually you want to
head south out of the town and follow the path to the Northern exit to the next
area.  Follow this path to a teleporter, which takes Kain to the Pillars of
Nosgoth.  Approach the Pillars to witness a scene with Ariel.

It is now your quest to restore the Pillars, the first of which will be the
Pillar of Mind.  Use the other teleporter to the West and activate the Bat
Beacon, as well as acquire the Bat Form.  Enter the crypt along the path, which
will be known as the Light Crypt.

                               ---------------
You can save your game to the West of the main room, then go East.

| Secret #1 \

| Simply walk in the Southeast corner of this room where you'll see a purple  |
| aura.  It reveils a small room with Health Vial #3                          |
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Follow the path and don't forget to get Health Vial #4 to the left of two
roaming Skeletons.  Enter the next section of the Light Crypt, where Kain will
find the Light spell.  Give it a try to light up the whole section for a
limited time.  Continue North and in the last part will be a green switch on
the Eastern wall to open the door to exit this section.  In the next section,
follow the path and press the red switch near two Skeletons to proceed South.

Walk around the spikes in this room and find another red switch on a North wall
to proceed West to another section.  Here, there are 3 invisible floor panels,
one near the purple orb, one along the path of the floating spike, and the last
near a southern door.  Also, press the red wall switch to the North to unlock
the souther door.  In this section to the right will be Glyph #4.

| Secret #2 \

| Go South and there will be a column near a coffin that is glowing red.      |
| Walk near it to unlock two rooms on either side, where you will find a      |
| Heart of Darkness, Flay, and multiple chained humans.                       |

Continue South through this section to find yourself back at the entrance.
Exit the Light Crypt and go West to another section of the forest.  Follow the
path West and you will see a sign for Nachtholm.  Enter the cave to the North,
which will be known as the Lupine Cave.  To the East you can save if you wish,
then proceed North.  Keep going North and you will get the Lupine Form.  Switch
to it to be able to jump across the spikes to the West.

Jump South, kill the human, and follow the path to a switch.  Go back and jump
North and follow this path to a door.  Continue South to the outside.  Here,
jump up a series of ledges, as well as over water to find the entrance to
another cave.  There are some Flays and a Heart of Darkness to the East as
well.

Here you will have to go North to a closed door and then release both levers to
the East and West.  Go through the opened doorway to a teleporter, which takes
Kain back to the entrance of the Lupine Cave.  Exit and press L2 to view the
map of this section.

| Secret #3 \

| See the cave entrance to the Northwest (near the Bat Beacon)?  Using the    |
| Lupine Form, enter the cave to find the Flay Spirit Forge.  Enter and you   |
| can sacrifice most of Kain's health for 10 Flays.                           |
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Using Lupine Form, activate the Bat Beacon to the Northwest.  At this point,
there are several secrets that can be acquired by backtracking in the game.

| Secrets #4, #5, & #6 \
|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
| Use the Sanctuary spell to return to Kain's Mausoleum.  Exit the Mausoleum  |
| to the Cemetary.  Go South and find the first Crypt.  Do not enter it.      |
| Instead, change to Lupine Form and jump over the gate to the East where you |
| see a Flay.  Now, Jump over two fences to the South where you will see a    |
| Blood Vial.  Grab it and a zombie will appear.  Jump over the fence to the  |
| South of this one and enter the crypt to the Southwest.  Step on the        |
| teleporter and exit the building to find several zombies, as well as three  |
| Pentaliches Tarot.  This activates all three secrets.                       |

| Secret #7 \
|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
| Enter the town of Ziegstuhl and find the tavern where the game opened (it   |
| is to the West).  Change to Lupin Form and jump over the bar.  To the       |
| Northeast there will be a red aura.  Walk over there and hit it to open a   |
| door to the North.  Go through and step on the teleporter in the next room. |
| This teleports you back to the Flay Spirit Forge and activates the secret.  |
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Backtrack and enter the next section to the Northeast, where you will
eventually find a large crypt, known as the Energy Bolt Crypt.  Save in the
first room and go North to the next section.  Here, you want to be careful of
the missile-throwing Wizards and go East and up the stairs to the North.  Here,
Kain acquires the Energy Bolt, which can now make quick work of the wizards. In
the room to the North, kill the three Wizards with Energy Bolts and acquire
Glyph #5 at the center.

On the North wall, beyond several spikes, will be a switch with skulls on it.
Use an Energy Bolt to hit it and unlock the Western door.  Kill the Wizard, and
then hit the left and right switches with Energy Bolts to unlock the Southern
door.  Continue South and in the next room to the West will be Health Vial #5,
guarded by a Wizard and knife-throwing human.  Go up the only other set of
stairs and there will be a switch at the end.

Exit to the South and leave the crypt.  Continue through the forest to the
Northeast to the next section.  Follow this path until you see a ledge and
several wolves.  Change to Lupine Form and jump up the ledge to enter the cave.
Stand on the red corner of the fountain and drink from it to enhance Kain's
strength.  At this point you can obtain Secret #8... or skip it if you
wish.

| Secret #8 \

| Using the Sanctuary spell, return to Kain's Mausoleum.  Leave it and follow |
| the path to the first crypt.  Enter it and proceed through it until you     |
| find two silver boulders (not the granite ones that you could always push). |
| With increased strength, it is possible to move these boulders, which will  |
| open a door to the right, allowing Kain to get four Hearts of Darkness,     |
| three Pentaliches Tarot, and eight Flays.                                   |

1.3- Nachtholm to Vasserbunde
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Now you can push the boulder's blocking the way to Nachtholm.  In the town,
there are a total of five Flays and two Implodes for Kain, not to mention many
humans to restore his health.  It is possible (although not intended by the
game's programmers) to get another secret at this point.

|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
| Press L2 when in the town of Nachtholm to view the map.  See the cave to    |
| the North across the body of water.  Change into Lupine Form and run over   |
| to that cave.  You will get damage from the water but not so much that it   |
| will kill Kain.  Step on the teleporter in the cave to find yourself at a   |
| Stonehenge-like area with many many items, including a Slow Time.  You will |
| have to kill several Wizards to obtain the items, however.                  |
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

| Secrets #10 & #11 \
|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
| Again, press L2 in the town of Nachtholm and look to the East where there   |
| are a series of ledges and a cave.  Most likely, the cave entrance will be  |
| closed.  However, if you wait until there is a full moon, Kain can enter    |
| the Moon Cave and claim Health Vial #6, Glyph #6, as well as several other  |
| items.  There is another Cave very close by that you might as well get.     |
| Leave the town to the North and go East, then North to find a cave.  Here,  |
| Kain can feast on some chained humans, as well as get some more items.  You |
| cannot explore the cave fully, but it still counts as a secret.  You will   |
| come back later to get another secret.                                      |
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Leave the town to the North to enter the next section.  Enter the first cave
you see and drink from the fountain to become invulnerable to rain.  Leave the
cave towards the East, where there will be a small section with a new Bat
Beacon to activate.  Do so, and head into Steinchencroe.  In this town you can
find some more items, including two more secrets.

| Secrets #12 & #13 \
|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
| Inside the Big Horn Brothel, go to the center North room where you'll see a |
| chair.  Push it to reveal a doorway.  Go through it and step on the         |
| teleporter to be transported to the Implode Spirit Forge.  Enter it to      |
| activate both secrets.                                                      |
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Exit the town and head North to a gypsy camp.  The only tent you are concerned
about is the orange one in the Northeast corner.  Enter it to obtain the spell
Disguise.  Using Disguise, enter Vasserbunde where you can find some items in
the buildings.  When you are done, head across the bridge to the West into the
next section.  Enter the guardhouse, hopefully still with the Disguise spell,
and simply walk over to the lever to open the gate to the lake.

Follow the lake around to two caves.  Enter the right one to get a Slow Time if
you wish.  Otherwise, enter the left one to begin the ascent into Nupraptor's
Retreat.

1.4- Nupraptor's Retreat
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Save and go North to the first area of the Retreat.  Using either an Energy
Bolt or Lupine form, hit the glowing switch on the North wall near the fire-
spitting statue.  Kain can now travel safely East, kill the Blobs and collect
two Flays.  Continue South, where it is best to change into Lupine form in
order to avoid the traps on either wall.  Still in Lupine form, go south and
jump over the brown acid to the East.

Keep going East, jumping over the acid and head into the next area.  Here there
is a large purple Blob that must be killed.  Again, it is best to stay in
Lupine form for this section due to the fast wall traps that will do a lot of
damage to Kain in his slower Vampire form.  Simply proceed North to the third
section.  First, head North and change back into Vampire form to use an Energy
Bolt to hit the red glowing switch.

Back in Lupine form, head South to safely avoid the acid pits.  Once you start
heading West there will be an endless wave of Blobs so don't even both killing
them.  The Mentalist, Nupraptor, will just keep summoning more to slow Kain's
progress.  Proceed all the way West to the next section.  Here Nupraptor will
warn Kain to leave the Retreat.  It is best to be in Vampire form for this
part.

Kill Nupraptor's Wizards, who use a book to shoot flames at Kain.  Follow the
only path to the final room, where you can find three levers on the North wall.
Hit the left and right levers to unlock a door farther back in this section.
Keep going North and hit the red glowing switch in the last room to unlock the
door to the right, which leads to the next section.  Head North to the spikes
and use an Energy Bolt to hit the switch on the North wall.

Head East, then North to find a Zombie Summoner.  You should kill this enemy
before dealing with any of the Zombies because he will simply keep summoning
more.  Now you can safely hit the switch on the North wall and backtrack to a
now-opened doorway.  Head North to a room with many killed humans.  Kain is
disgusted by all of the wasted blood.  Hit the switch and go East, then North
to another section.

Here, head up the stairs and use an Energy Bolt to hit the switch across from
the spikes, which unlocks a door to the East.  Head through and you will find
two Zombie Summoners.  Dispatch them and head North to another section.  In
this room you will find both Health Vial #7 and Glyph #7 near the Northern
wall.  Now you can choose where to go from here, but you will have to complete
all of these "tests" before proceeding.


                               South West Test
                             -------------------
This room is filled with many many spikes, as well as several that retract into
the ground in pattersn, or waves.  Change into Lupine form and go West to two
floor levers.  Hit both to begin the test.  You must now run back East and
North, where there is a newly-formed path.  Beware the retractable spikes.
Jump West from here and hit this lever, then proceed farther West.  Navigate
this maze of spikes and jump West again.  Jump South twice and step onto the
teleporter to complete this test.


                               North West Test
                             -------------------
Here you will want to walk North, then head through the only open doorway and
approach the lever in this room.  It will unlock another room to the North, but
also summon several Zombies.  In the next room you will find the first Energy
Bank, as well as a floor lever, allowing Kain to go East.  Back in the hallway,
go South and East to another set of rooms, doing the same thing.  With both
sides cleared, you can head North to the teleporter.


                               North East Test
                             -------------------
Here, the light will dim once Kain reaches a part of the room and many Zombies
will come forth.  I suggest retreating back to the stairs and simply killing
the Zombies as they come at you.  Then simply go North to the teleporter to
complete this test.


                               South East Test
                             -------------------
Push the lever in the painting on the North wall to unlock the door and step on
the teleporter to be brought to a large "room" of darkness.  It is important
that you step only in the lighted areas and follow the path.  There are floor
switches (invisible) that will light up other parts of the path.  If you find
yourself always running into dark and being teleported, then simply slow down
and don't run aimlessly.  At the end, there will be a teleporter to complete
the test.

With all four pillars now lighted, Kain can proceed North to the next section
of Nupraptor's Retreat.  Go West, killing the two Wizards.

| Secret #14 \

| Go South from the center room to a semi-circular room that has three        |
| levers.  Hit the two over to the same side as the third and the door to the |
| West of the center room will be open.  Enter this room to find five Flays,  |
| as well as activating the secret.                                           |
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go North to enter a new section.  Here, Kain cannot proceed North until he
visits the section to the South by entering either doorway.  You are now in the
skull top of the Retreat.  Enter the South West eye socket to find Health Vial
#8, as well as a view of Nosgoth.  Enter the South East eye socket to find
Glyph #8, as well as a view of Nosgoth's future.  Before heading back, Kain can
get a Putresce in the nose of the skull.

Head North to the teleporter at the North end of the last room.  Here, Kain
will get several items to help him in the upcoming battle.  Step on the small
teleporter to go to a room with a save point.  Head to the next section and you
will have to fight Nupraptor.


                           Nupraptor, the Mentalist
                         ----------------------------
This is rather easy.  Kain will have to go North, where Nupraptor sits, while
avoiding the green floating balls that advance in waves.  Note that the purple
floating balls vanish every few seconds.  Get by the waves this way.  When you
see Nupraptor, you can hit him probably one or two times before he teleports to
the other side.  Repeat this process and you will notice spikes appearing in
the floor to make it a bit harder.  Eventually, the spikes will vanish, as will
the floating balls, and Nupraptor will be in the center with several spinning
skulls.  Quickly kill Nupraptor with a few more hits and the token, his head,
will be yours.

Head North to the teleporter to receive the Mace, which will destroy many
things that had previously barred Kain's path, such as the stone pillars
surrounding him now, as well as the black chests.  Head South to return to the
Pillars of Nosgoth.

1.5- Coorhagen
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Before continuing, there are several secrets available if you desire to pursue
them.

 ______________________________
| Secrets #15, #16, #17, & #18 \
|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
| Change to Bat form and travel to the Beacon at Steinchencroe (North of the  |
| Pillars.  Head West and you will find a cave (same as Secret #11), this     |
| time, head fully into the cave, equipped with the Mace, and destroy the     |
| statue barring Kain's path.  Collect the items and the secret will be       |
| activated.  Now exit the cave and head North to Vasserbunde, where you will |
| find a building with a stone pillar in front of it, now easily destroyed    |
| with the Mace (it is on the North end of town).                             |
|                                                                             |
| Inside, go to the West room to the North West corner, where there is an     |
| invisible floor switch.  It is a bit hard to find but its there.  Go back   |
| to the center room to find a doorway to a teleporter, which leads to the    |
| Putresce Spirit Forge.  Enter it and check the status screen to see three   |
| secrets acquired.  For the last, head to Vasserbunde and go West towards    |
| Nupraptor's Retreat.  Before actually getting there, along the path to the  |
| West is a pillar that can be destroyed with your Mace, activating the last  |
| secret.                                                                     |
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head North of Vasserbunde, using the Mace to clear a path, to the next section
of wilderness.  Here, continue West to a cave, which contains a blood fountain.
This particular one will restore Kain's magic quicker.

 ____________
| Secret #19 \
|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
| Leave the cave and head South West, equipped with your Mace, to find many   |
| Hearts of Darkness and Flays.  This will activate the secret.               |
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Continue heading North, where Kain will start to talk of the Plague.  Continue
heading North to find Coorhagen, which contains several upgrades for Kain.
Simply follow the path through the town, killing the Zombie Summoner, and enter
the building with a large pile of bodies outside.  This area will be known as
the Repel Dungeon.

                                Repel Dungeon
                              -----------------
Go West to the next section where Kain will have to dodge several flying arrows
while proceeding North to another section.  Here, kill all of the enemies while
following the path to the next section.  There is plenty to make the game
incredibly slow, which can be annoying.  Kill all of the enemies and collect
Health Vial #9 between the fireballs.  Be sure to press the switch on the North
wall as well and proceed South to the next section.

You are back in the save room, but you can now go East to a new section.
Simply avoid the flying objects and continue to another section.  Here, you
will have to deal with several Wizards by throwing Energy Bolts or Flays at
them.  In the North West corner there will be Glyph #9.  Continue and soon you
will find the Repel spell and to the East of that, Glyph #10.  Use Repel to
easily kill the last Wizard in this room, then go South to a new section.

Everything (except arrows) will be repelled off of Kain, leaving the Wizards an
easy target.  Be sure to flip the wall switch in the North West corner of the
last room to proceed South to the exit of the dungeon.  Exit this last room to
find yourself in a different part of the town.  The first building contains
some items in barrels, while the building next to it contains one Flay.  Keep
going East and the last building is a church.  Go North to find the Bone Armor
Dungeon.


                              Bone Armor Dungeon
                            ----------------------
Save to the West, then go to a room with two Skeletons and a wall switch, which
will open a door to the North to a new part of the section.  Kill the Shadows
and beware of the ice floor.  In the second section, there will be several
shadows, as well as a wall switch North of a ribcage structure.  Press it to
proceed East, where several Zombies will be summoned.  Kill them and go East to
a large room with a Shadow Summoner.

This new enemy will continue to teleport and summong more Shadows to kill you.
Once he is dead, the door to the next section will open.  In the middle of this
section there will be a Wizard.  If you are having trouble, simply cast Repel
and kill him.  Then go South where several Zombies will arise to trap you.
Kill them and press the wall switch to head back North to another section.  It
is highly recommended to be in Lupine form for this part in order to move fast
enough.

Once you reach the ice, change back to Vampire form and use Repel to avoid the
two Wizards.  This last room contains two Skeleton Summoners, who will surround
themselves with spikes, making it much harder to kill them.  If you have
trouble, use Flays or Energy Bolts to take them out.  In the next section you
will find Glyph #11 in the center, which will trigger several Zombies to attack
Kain.  Continue North to find the Bone Armor.  It is a good idea to equip it.

In the next area you will notice the Shadows will not attack Kain.  The
Skeletons will also ignore Kain for the most part.  Go to the next section and
when you get to the ice floor part, you will find two paths.  The path to the
right has wall spikes, but rewards you with Health Vial #10.  In the last room
will be a Shadow Summoner.  Unfortunately, these Shadows will not ignore Kain.
Kill him and go to the next section.

Use Repel to kill the two Wizards and then dispatch the Skeleton Summoner to
proceed South.  Again, you will have to use Repel to kill all three Wizards to
unlock the door South, which holds three chained humans, as well as Glyph #12.
This is the end of the Bone Armor Dungeon.

Outside in the town once again, head North to a large building.  Destroy the
barrels inside and head downstairs to a basement.  Kill all of the ghosts and
flip the lever in the North East corner to unlock the door in the South West.
Flip the lever on the North wall in this room (you can also smash the chest
with the Mace).  Head to the North East room, flipping the lever, then go to
the North West room.  Open the chests and you can head to the South East room,
which also is the exit to the building.

| Secret #20 & Inspire Hate Spell \
|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
| Instead of leaving this building, head back to the center room and flip the |
| first lever again to unlock the center door.  Step on the teleporter, which |
| leads to the Inspire Hate Dungeon.  The secret is activated if you wish to  |
| leave; however, you will be missing many other items.  Press the wall       |
| switch to enter the first part of the dungeon.  Here, you will acquire the  |
| actual spell of Inspire Hate.                                               |
|                                                                             |
| Go to the East and use the spell, then press the lever to unlock the door   |
| to the West to another section.  Again, use Inspire Hate to distract the    |
| enemies while you switch the lever in the center and proceed North to the   |
| next section.  In the right barrel will be Glyph #13.  Head to the next     |
| section and be sure to collect the Flays before hitting the switch in the   |
| center.                                                                     |
|                                                                             |
| Go to the West of the last room, hit the switch, and go to a new section to |
| the East.  Again, use Inspire Hate to easily navigate to the next section.  |
| I'm sure you know the drill by now.  Keep using Inspire Hate to kill all of |
| the enemies and be sure to collect Glyph #14 in a room with some Wizards.   |
| You will soon find the end of the dungeon.                                  |

Leave the building and you will soon find the exit of Coorhagen, which leads to
the base of Malek's Bastion.

1.6- Malek's Bastion
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Change to Lupine form to jump up the ledges to a Bat Beacon.  Activate the
beacon, which will enable Kain to enter Malek's Bastion if he changes into Bat
form.  Do so and enter the only open door to the castle.  Step on the left 
teleporter.  I warn you this is one of the hardest levels in the game simply
due to the lack of blood throughout the level.  There are very few sources so
be careful.

In the South West corner be sure to step on the floor switch to unlock the door
to the East.  In the next section you simply have to kill one of Malek's
Warriors and go up the stairs to another section.  Here, press a series of 
switches to gain access to another section.  Again, go up the stairs to find a
generator, which is spawning many of Malek's Warriors.  Hit the switch in the
North West to turn off the generator and proceed West to a teleporter.

It brings you back to a familiar section.  Go North to find yourself outside
the castle.  Continue North to another section.  Step on the teleporter to
be in another room.  Here, step on a floor switch near the purple aura to the
West and then head North.  Collect the Heart of Darkness, press the wall
switch, and collect Glyph #15.  Keep going through the sections until you come
to a second generator.

This generator can also be turned off with a wall switch.  Do so and step on
the teleporter.  Follow the path and avoid the usual traps until you come to a
room with a closed door and a purple floor switch.  Step on it and then use an
Energy Bolt to hit a switch on the North wall.  You have to be quick for this
next part so I suggest going into Lupine form.  Go to the West room, hit the
switch, and quickly head back to the North room before the door closes and the
spikes raise again.

Follow the only path available and soon you will come to the third generator.
Again, disable this one with a wall switch and step on a teleporter to be
brought back to the beginning with a now-open door to the North.

| Secrets #21 & #22 \
|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
| Just above the right teleporter there is a secret floor switch which        |
| unlocks stairs to the right.  Enter this section to activate the secret.    |
| Proceed through the sections, ignoring the teleporters.  You'll come to a   |
| fourth generator, with four wall switches.  Flip the two middle ones off to |
| unlock a door to the North.  Press the switch here to forever destroy the   |
| machines.  You can now step on the South East teleporter and go South to    |
| the outside.                                                                |
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Outside, in the courtyard, Kain can collect several items along with Glyph #16
and Glyph #17 in the South West and North East parts.  Enter the North tower to
find a final series of tests before facing Malek.  Enter the left or right
where you will have to press a wall switch and go to the other side to proceed
to the next section.  Proceed through all of the sections, completing the tasks
which, for the most part, should be fairly routine by now.

Eventually you will find the Throne of Malek.  Step on the right teleporter to
find a place to save.  The left teleporter transports you to a room with some
items to help Kain, including Health Vial #10.  Now head North to face the
Guardian of the Circle of Nine.


                             Malek of the Sarafan
                           ------------------------
First off, note that you will not be destroying Malek this time around.  The
only thing you want to do is push him back three times by continually hitting
him.  If you are having trouble, use Repel.  Once that is done, Malek will cast
a wave of energy in Kain's direction and you will have to escape to the South
East and step on the teleporter.

You will acquire the Axes in this room.  Go South and step on the teleporter
which will transport you outside.  Activate the Bat Beacon and then fly to the
Pillars of Nosgoth to speak with Ariel.  She will tell you to seek out the
Oracle to the East.

1.7- The Oracle's Caves
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Equipped with the Axes, fly back to the Bat Beacon at the base of Malek's
Bastion.  Use the Axes to cut down the trees to the East and continue along the
path.  Slaughter the humans along the way until you come to a lake with frozen
sections.  Switch to Lupine form and jump from iceberg to iceberg to the other
side, where you'll find a cave.


                                 Stun Dungeon
                               ----------------
Save at the entrance and head North to the first section.  Kill the enemy and
continue through the dungeon, killing all of the humans either with Inspire
Hate or just your sword.  After switching two levers to open a door you will
find the Stun spell.  To proceed North, you must stun the human to the West and
feed on him.  Continue through to a room with Glyph #18 in the center and many
humans on the sides.

You have to stun and feed on all four of the humans to unlock the door to
proceed.  In this room is Health Vial #11.  Kill the rest of the humans and use
the teleporter to go back to the entrance.  Leave the dungeon and use the
Disguise form to walk through the gypsy camp to a cave to the East.  Go to the
East exit of this cave, back outside.  Enter the only other cave and follow the
path to the North East.

This leads back outside to another cave entrance, which is a Blood Fountain
that will make Kain resistant to snow.  Go back to the first cave (that you
entered near the gypsy camp) and head to the West this time.  Follow the path
until you come to a save point.  Once you have saved, head to the South to exit
the cave.  Enter the only other cave available to begin the ascent to the
Oracle.

You have to equip the Mace in order to break the ice pillars.  Switching back
and forth can be quite annoying due to the horrible load times, but you don't
have much choice.  You can collect a lot of items by breaking the pillars and
pretty much anything standing in your way.  When you are done, head North to
the next section.  Be sure to break the first ice pillar you see to acquire
Blood Vial #12.

Find a button on the wall that looks like a blue jewel.  Then head South and
East to a new section.  This is pretty typical, just find the blue jewel to
unlock the door and enter the exit to the North West to find yourself back in
the first section.  Now you can head North to explore a very large section of
the caves.  Find the blue jewel in the first room and head South.  Follow the
path around and you'll find Glyph #19 after a part with a frozen floor and
spikes.

The rest isn't too hard.  Simply press every blue jewel you find and follow the
paths as they open up.  You'll find Glyph #20 on the West side of the section.
You will reach a section with a save point.  Go beyond it and you'll find the
Oracle, Moebius.  After the scene with him, go back and head East this time.
Kain will acquire the Incapacitate spell.  Follow the path of caves until you
find the exit to the network South.

Equip the Axes and cut down the tree to get an item.  Then continue heading
South and East to activate a Bat Beacon.  Head back West to find the Mist
Dungeon entrance, which can be entered by cutting down the tree that blocks it
with the Axes.


                                 Mist Dungeon
                               ----------------
IMPORTANT NOTE:  You are unable to enter this dungeon again after completing it
so be sure you collect Glyph #21 and Health Vial #13 before leaving.

Acquire the Mist form and go to the West if you want to save.  Otherwise,
change to Mist form and walk through the gates to the North to a new section.
The only things you have to fear while in Mist form are small holes called Mist
Vortexes that will try to suck Kain into them.  They are easily avoided.  Also,
Kain can still be hurt by fire or magic spells.

When you reach the two Energy Banks, look closely at the wall to see that it is
cracked.  Still in Mist form, walk through it to acquire Glyph #21 and Health
Vial #13.  You can now go back and continue heading North until you reach the
end, where a teleporter will take you back to the entrance.  At this point
there is a lot to do in the game before heading to Vorador's Mansion.  However,
if you are in a rush, you can skip all of the next section of the walkthrough.
You will be missing out on some items and I will assume you have them when
talking about strategies and such.

1.8- The Lost City
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

*NOTE*
Since mostly everything in this section of the walkthrough is optional I have 
not specially marked off any of the secrets.

Anytime in the near future when you see a full moon you should head to 
Nachtolm.  There, go South across the river in Mist form to a Moon Cave.  
Inside you will have to use the Mace.  You will find a teleporter to several 
items and you will activate Secret #23.  Now head back to Nachtolm and go
North, past Steinchencroe to the group of tents.  Before the tents, head West
and use the Mace to destroy the pillars.

Now change into Mist form and head West along the river.  On the next screen
you will find Glyph #22, as well as activating Secret #24.  Head back to the
section with the Stun Dungeon entrance.  Here, in Mist form, head West across
the frozen lake to a new cave.  Inside, you will find at the end of the cave
both Health Vial #14 and Glyph #23.  Backtrack to the entrance of the cave and
leave it.

It should still be a full moon hopefully.  Head back to the Mist Dungeon and
change to Mist form.  Follow the river to the West to a new screen.  Here you
will find a Stonehendge thing and a teleporter.  Use it to find the entrance to
the Lost City.  Note that it only opens on a full moon.  I also won't be
mentioning specific secrets since there are so many.  At the end of each
building I will tell you what secret you should be up to if you want to check.
For now, head as far East as possible and enter the only open building.


                                First Building 
                               (Secrets #25-27)
                             --------------------
Head to the North East corner of this giant section and press the symbol on the
wall.  Do the same in the North West corner.  Now go through the newly opened
passage to the West into the center section.  In this new section, grab all the
items in chests and so forth, then press a switch on a snake pillar in the
middle of the room.  You can now leave this building and you should be up to
Secret #27.  Head South to the outer wall and then East till you come to
another building.  Go inside.


                               Second Building
                               (Secrets #28-30)
                             --------------------
I suggest casting Repel if you are having a problem with all the traps in this
building.  In here you should first go East, touch the snake, then go West and
North to two more floor switches.  With all three hit, enter the newly-opened
doorway and collect a bunch of Flays and some other items.  You should be up
to Secret #30 and you can leave the building.  Go North to the next tower-like
building.


                                Third Building
                               (Secrets #31-39)
                             --------------------
Immediately upon entering you will see a floor switch to the West that you
should hit.  Equip the Control Mind spell and go East.  Use it on the human
and make him go North to a switch at the end.  Head back and then go East to
the teleporter.  Here, you will have to dispatch any Shadows (be careful not to
die) and step on several floor switches to light the path to another
teleporter.  You can then dispatch the guard by pressing X.  You should be up
to Secret #39.  Leave the building and enter the one directly East of it.


                               Fourth Building
                               (Secrets #40-44)
                             --------------------
Using Control Mind, take over the human to the West and make him walk on the
floor switch to the North.  Don't bother going on the teleporter, you will just
end up getting the human killed.  Take control of the human to the East and
have him step on the floor switch as well.  If you use this teleporter you can
grab some Hearts of Darkness.  Dispatch the human and, as Kain, go North to a
new section.

Here, continue to go North where you will find switches on both the East and
West sides.  Head through the new doorway and, before stepping on the
teleporter, press the switch on the North end.  You can now use it to exit the
building.  You should be up to Secret #44.  Go East to enter the next building.


                                Fifth Building
                              ------------------
Beware!  This building houses some strong Demons that you normally wouldn't
meet until Avernus Cathedral!  There aren't even any secrets in here so I
completely understand if you choose to skip this part.  However, there are a
ton of Putresce items in here if you want them.  Leave this building when you
are done and go to the building directly to the South West of where you are
now.  The floor switch in the center will teleport you to another part of the
city where you can enter the North East building.


                                Sixth Building
                               (Secrets #45-52)

1.9- The Black Forest

From the Mist Dungeon, head South to the next section (using Mist form to cross
the water).  This is the Black Forest.  Look at the map and head to the most 
Western cave on it.  You will find a Blood Fountain of Strength.

| Exit and go South some more.  In Lupine form, jump up the ledge and then    |
| switch to Mist form to float through the small crack.  This enables Secret  |
| #52. Now go back to the Black Forest and this time enter the cave on the    |
| North East side of the screen.  Enter it to find a Soul Forge, as well as   |
| activate Secret #54.                                                        |
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go back to the Black Forest and head directly South to a building that
will be known as the Blood Gout Dungeon


                              Blood Gout Dungeon
                            ----------------------
You can save in the room to the right, then pull the chain near the door to
open it and head North to the next section.  In this section you will get the
spell of Blood Gout which, like in all the other dungeons, will be used to
easily continue through.  Simply use the spell to kill the two chained humans
and the door to the South will unlock.  Continue through, using Blood Gout on
whatever chained humans you find.

In the last room, you have to quickly avoid the skeletons (they will just
keep regenerating) and destroy the Wizard to the East by any projectile
means you can find.  A bridge will appear, allowing access to Health Vial #15.
Head North and you will find Glyph #24 in the North East corner.  Now all you
have to do is step on the teleporter at the end and exit the dungeon.  Now go
North to the next tower.


                             Control Mind Dungeon
                           ------------------------
To the right you can save, then head North to the next section.  Go North to
the end until you find the Control Mind spell.  Equip it and use it on the
human to the East.  Use the human to flip the switch and then press X to go
back to Kain.

| Secrets #55, & #56 \
|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
| Now go South some until you see three humans.  Here you will have to get    |
| one human through an obstacle course to Glyph #25.  If you succeed in doing |
| so, then Secret #55 will be activated.  You have three chances to do this,  |
| otherwise you will have to come back much later when you get Spirit Wrack.  |
| You will have to do the same thing on the East side with three humans.      |
| This time you will be acquiring Health Vial #16 and activating Secret #56.  |

Now head through the doorway to the North.  In this section, use Control Mind
to take one of the humans to the West to flip the switch.  Go North and East
and flip the switch at the end of the path.

| Secrets #57, #58, #59 & #60 \

| On your way back, notice the human to the East.  Use Control Mind and make  |
| him go North to a Heart of Darkness.  This activates Secret #57.  Back in   |
| the second section, Go to the North East human, take control of him again   |
| and hit the switch again to open a door to the far North.  Go through and,  |
| using Energy Bolt, throw one North to hear a switch being hit.  Secret #58  |
| will be activated.  Take control of a human to the West and lead him North  |
| to a teleporter.                                                            |
|                                                                             |
| Before heading on the teleporter, be sure to flip the switch near a statue  |
| shooting arrows.  Go North into the Spirit Forge and trade blood for the    |
| items.  Since it is a human, the Forge will simply kill the human and       |
| activated Secret #59.  Take control of the human to the East and have him   |
| flip the switch to gain access to another teleporter.  Take him to the      |
| Spirit Forge and do the same as before to activate Secret #60.  To unlock   |
| the door to leave the dungeon, take control of the human in the first room  |
| to the East again and flip the switch.                                      |
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now leave this dungeon and head North East to the last tower.


                             Flame Sword Dungeon
                           -----------------------
As always, you can save in the first room, then continue North to the next
section.  Here, just walk around to the third section of the dungeon.  Continue
South to the fourth section.  Looking at the map, note the red symbols in the
North West and South East corners.  Touch both of them, as well as a third red
switch on the North wall to reveal stairs.  Go down and press all of these red
symbols to acquire the Flame Sword.

Go back up and press the two green symbols to have stairs lowered on either
side of the South side of the section.  You can go down these stairs to acquire
Health Vial #17 and Glyph #26.  Go back to the second section and equip the
Flame Sword.  Head East and notice you can set the hay on fire.  Also, when you
kill an enemy, you won't be able to suck his/her blood.  Go to the next
section.

Here, simply press the switch and go through the doorway to find yourself back
at the beginning.  You can now leave this dungeon.  At this point, simply 
change to Bat form and fly to the entrance of Vorador's Mansion.  You aren't
missing out on anything.


                              Vorador's Mansion
                            ---------------------
Save in the first section, then go North to the next section.  Here, go East
where you can kill a female vampire.

| Using Control Mind, possess the knife-throwing human to the North across    |
| some spikes.  Hit the wall switch to the North and then kill him using X.   |

| a new section which contains Glyph #27.  Head back to the second section.   |

well as the Chaos Armor.  It is a good idea to switch to it.

| take control of the human to the North and take him to a section farther    |
| North where you will find Health Vial #18.                                  |

Then flip the switch on the North wall and revert back to Kain.  Go East to the
next section.  It is absolutely necessary to use the Repel spell in order to
kill the Wizard Summoners.  They are the dark purple ones that teleport.  Once
that is done, collect Health Vial #19 in the South West corner then go to the
next section.

Simply change to Mist form and go through the doorway to the South West to the
next section.  In here, use Control Mind on the human on the West balony.  Take
her West to hit a switch on the North wall.  Then revert to Kain and go South
to get Glyph #28 by jumping over some spikes in Lupine form.  Then head West to
the next section.

Grab the Blood Shower spell and use it on everyone in this room.  Cool, huh?
Go North to the next section.  Drain every chained human in this room and go
North again to the next section.

| Secrets #66 & #67 \

| Notice the small switch on the North wall to the East.  Hit it to unlock a  |
| new room to the West.  Inside, collect the items and hit another switch on  |

| of this room there will be a hidden wall switch.  Grab the items and revert |
| back to Kain where you can access a room to the North for some items.       |

Again, go East and continue through to a save point.  Continue and you will
witness a movie.

| In Mist form, go to the North East part of the room and float through a     |
| crack in the wall hidden by a curtain to get some items.  Go back to where  |
| you talked with Vorador and head East.  You will notice a green glowing     |
| pillar.  Press it and you will activate the secret, which allows Kain to go |
| North West in Mist form to collect some more items.  Go back to Vorador's   |
| hall when you are done.                                                     |

Grab Vorador's Ring and head East to the next section where you can grab some
more items in the coffins.  Then step on the teleporter to the South.  Save and
exit, then activate the Bat Beacon in the next section to the West.  Equip the
Axes and cut down the tree back East.  You will see a view of Dark Eden in the
distance.  That is your next target.

1.10- Dark Eden

Change to Lupine form and head East to the small town of Uschtenhiem.

| Go West then North of the town to some large boulders that Kain can push    |
| out of the way.  Grab the Implode item and then continue West to a ledge.   |
| You will find two Pentaliche Tarot items up there.  That will activate all  |
| three secrets.  Go back into town.                                          |

In town you can enter the buildings to acquire some items, as usual.

| Secrets #75 & #76 \

| These two secrets are by far the most difficult to acquire just due to the  |
| randomness of how to open a door.  In one building in the town where you    |
| acquired an Anti-Toxin, you will notice the door to the East closed.  Go to |
| the cemetary by way of Kain's Sanctuary spell and enter the first crypt.    |
| In here you will eventually come to three wall switches, where two are      |
| already pressed.                                                            |
|                                                                             |
| Hit the third one and go back to this room in Uschtenheim where you will    |
| find the door now open.  Enter this section and step on the teleporter to   |
| find yourself in the Spirit Forge for the Heart of Darkness.  Enter the     |
| Forge all the way to activate the second secret.  When you are done go back |
| to town.                                                                    |
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

When you are done in town, head North, using the Axes to clear a path.  Be
very careful around here as you will easily become poisoned and damaged.  I
suggest using Repel or simply changing to Mist form.  You will soon come upon
two caves.  Enter the first one by using the Axes to cut down the tree and you
will find another Blood Fountain of Magic.  Exit and continue West.

| Secret #77 \

| Enter the cave directly to the West of the last cave.  Grab the items and   |
| you will notice a switch in the North West corner of the room.  Hit it to   |
| activate the secret and leave the cave.                                     |

At this point you can change into Bat form and simply fly to Dark Eden.  There
is nothing more of interest along the normal path except for some items but the
difficulty outweighs the reward.  Go North West and enter the castle.


                           The Castle of Dark Eden
                         ---------------------------
Go directly East after entering the castle in order to save.  Go back and head
North then West into the only section you have access to at this point.  Go
West and hit the lever at the bottom to continue.  You will find Health Vial
#20 in the North West corner of this room near some exploding monstrocities.
Continue North and hit the Northern most pillar with a blue glow to open the
door to the West.

Go South and be sure to press the lever before stepping on the teleporter.  Now
you can go East through the next doorway to another section.  This is similar
to the last section in that you must reach the teleporter at the end, but you
also must hit the two glowing North walls which contain switches.  You'll find
Health Vial #21 in the second room after several layers of spikes.  Again, be
sure to hit the lever before stepping on the teleporter.

Go North and take the North West door first to a new section.  Proceed down
this hall with swinging axes and stay on the West side.  Turn to Mist form and
walk through the gate to grab Health Vial #22 and Glyph #29.  Go back and go
East this time to a new section.  Hit the lever and then go through the East
door.  Here you will acquire Health Vial #23 in the South East corner near some
spikes.

Back in the familiar section, take the middle doorway that is now open to a new
section.  Go East past the floating balls and step on the switch below the
Anti-Toxin.  Now go back West and North through the doorway.  Continue this
process twice more and head North to a new section.  Head to the North West
doorway first to acquire the Flesh Armor.


                                  Flesh Armor
                                ---------------
Grab the Flesh Armor and you may equip it if you like, although it does kinda
bog down the horrible game engine to a crawl.  Proceed North around to the next
section.  Here you will find Glyph #30 right next to the teleporter.  Step on
the teleporter to go back to where you were previously.  Now go through the
North East door to acquire the Spirit Death spell.


                                 Spirit Death
                               ----------------
Kill the two monsters on the balconies with some items or spells.  This will
open the door to the North, where you should ignore the exploding monstrocities
and proceed North still to acquire the spell, Spirit Death.  You can now easily
kill most of the monsters in here.  Continue along to acquire Glyph #31 near
the teleporter.  Step on it to go back to the previous section.  Now the center 
door is open.  Walk through to save, then face those responsible for the 
twisting of Nosgoth.


                    Bane the Druid & DeJoule the Energist
                  -----------------------------------------
After the movie, you will face these two at the same time.  Simply use Repel to
block anything DeJoule throws at you while dealing with Bane.  He will turn
land to water in an effort to damage you.  Simply keep hitting him with your
Fire Sword until he dies.  Now, with DeJoule you should put up another Repel
and then toss some Energy Bolts or whatever items you wish.  Her wall of energy
will eventually dissipate, leaving you to kill her.  Take both tokens and step
on the teleporter where you will find Malek destroyed.  Take his token and
return to the Pillars of Nosgoth with three more pillars restored.


                               Lightning Dungeon
                                  (Secret #78)
                             ---------------------
Before going on to face Azimuth the Planer, there is a completely optional
dungeon that will grab you a spell and a secret.  Fly back to Dark Eden and
enter the cave directly to the East.  Here you can save and walk South to a new
section.  Here, activate the Bat Beacon and directly North there will be a Moon
Gate.  Wait until the full moon if you wish (or come back later, whatever).
When it opens, go into the cave, activating the secret.  You can leave now if
you don't mind missing out on some Health Vials, Glyphs, and a spell.

In Lupine form, jump North and flip the lever, then go East where there is
another lever.  Hit it, allowing Kain to go North to a teleporter.  Before
stepping on it, hit the lever above it, then proceed to the teleporter.  Go
South to a green pillar, where there is anothe lever to the East.  Hit it and
follow the path North, where you will acquire Health Vial #24.  Press the lever
at the end to the South, then head North.

Go East where you will find a Flay along with Glyph #32.  Now go South East,
press the lever, and travel North.  After jumping up the ledge, go West, hit
this lever, and then go North to a new section.  Here, you do much of the same.
So just continue to the third area.  Here you will acquire the Lightning spell,
as well as Health Vial #25 in the North East corner of the monolith.  Simply
head East, taking the teleporters back to the entrance of the dungeon.

1.11- Avernus
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

If you didn't do the Lightning Dungeon, then fly back to Dark Eden and take the
cave to the East.  Follow this path South East, activating the Bat Beacon and
push the boulders out of the way.  Continue along and you will come to Avernus.
Kill the zombies as they arrive and go South, activating yet another Bat
Beacon.  Go South to the actual town.  Enter the first building to save, then
go South to the main part of the town.  There are many optional items here if
you wish to seek them out.

| You need to go East of the fountain to the last house before you see the    |
| path blocked.  Enter it and go down to a sewer under the city.  Go to the   |
| other side and exit to find yourself in a different part of the city.       |
| Continue South where you will find a demon that shoots bolts of lightning.  |
| Kill it and enter the building West by turning into Mist form to get past   |
| the broken door.                                                            |
|                                                                             |
| Grab the Slow Time item and, still in Mist form, go to the South East       |
| corner through the crack.  Go South to the next room, where you will want   |
| to head North West through the sewers to another room.  It is a good idea   |
| to stay in Mist form this entire time.  Head through the crack in the East  |
| wall to find two poison demons.  Grab the Energy Bank item to activate      |
| another secret.  Go back through the crack and head to the South West part  |
| of the sewers to grab a Heart of Darkness, as well as enable another        |
| secret.                                                                     |
|                                                                             |
| Go South through a door in Mist form.  Go East through the sewer and grab   |
| the Slow Time item to activate another secret.  Continue East, up the       |
| stairs, and head through the crack where you will activate the last secret  |
| by getting the Slow Time item.  Exit the house to the rest of the city.     |
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eventually you'll want to head South and West through the demolished city until
you see the giant Cathedral of Avernus.


                              Avernus' Cathedral
                            ----------------------
Go directly North to a save point, then head back to the initial section.  This
can be very confusing so follow carefully.  Go West and North to a blue wall
switch.  Press it and go East to a teleporter.  Step on it and go North to
another teleporter, pressing the wall switch before stepping on it.  Grab
Health Vial #26 and go South, then West back to the main section where you will
find the door to the North open.  Enter this doorway and step on the
teleporter.

Press the wall switch and go back on the teleporter to the first section.  Now
go North to another teleporter.  Press the first and third wall switches, then
go East to the teleporter to return back to the first section.  Go South to the
main hall and all the way West to a newly opened doorway.  Go North past an
inactive teleporter and you will come to an active one.  Step on it and go West
to (yet another) teleporter.

Press the switch in the North East corner to open the doors to the South.
Before stepping on this teleporter, grab Glyph #33 to the South of it.  Press a
wall switch on the Northern wall and go South to a teleporter.  Step on the
teleporter directly East and you can now go through the double doors in the
center that were closed before.  Walk North to a teleporter where you can get
some items to the South and press a switch to the North West before stepping
back on the teleporter.

Go to the altar all the way to the North of the Cathedral to get Glyph #34 and
Health Vial #27.  Go to the East teleporter in this room, stepping on another
one directly East.  Press the wall switch, then step on the next teleporter.
Go North and step on this teleporter, again doing the same as before.

| When you arrive back to the first section, walk directly South of that room |
| with the teleporter and notice a doorway.  Follow the path to find many     |
| useful items, as well as some neat backstory.  When you are done go back to |
| the Cathedral.                                                              |

                                The Soul Reaver
                              -------------------
Go through the North West doorway where you can save.  Continue North and grab
Health Vial #28 to the North East of the teleporter.  Step on the teleporter
and simply follow the path through teleporters, where you will acquire Health
Vial #29 next to the teleporter to a new section.  Go South then West to get
Health Vial #30, then head back North and go East this time to the teleporter.
Simply follow the only path until you come to a section with many many
teleporters.  I have a map of this section, just follow the Legend to get to
the end safely.  For instance, stepping on "1" will put you at "2".  So just
follow 1->2, 3->4, and so forth till the end.  I've only marked teleporters
that help you to the exit.

Once you get past this maze, you will acquire the most powerful weapon in the
game- The Soul Reaver.  Step on the teleporter and save on your way back to the
altar in the first section of the Cathedral.  This time, go through the North
East doorway.  Go past the save point and go North to a wall switch.  Then head
East, where you need to throw two Energy Bolts at the Northern wall switches to
proceed.  Press the two switches on either end of the pillars and proceed 
South.


                               The Wraith Armor
                             --------------------
In the next area, press the yellow skull on the wall and proceed and get Glyph
#35.  Continue along the sections, pressing the obvious wall switches.  You'll
find Health Vial #31 and Glyph #36 near the end of the trek.  Continue until 
you come to a  familiar scene- it's Malek's corpse, still chained where the 
Necromancer fused his soul to his armor.  I know, you're saying "but what about
the corpse on Malek's throne in his castle?"  That is just an unanswered 
mystery of why he has two corpses...

Anyway, you'll acquire the Wraith Armor here, the best armor in the game.  Use
the teleporter to go back to the Cathedral.  Go through the center door, North
of the altar, and save.  Now equip the Wraith Armor to prepare for battle with
Azimuth.


                              Azimuth the Planer
                            ----------------------
You'll want to quickly cast Repel, then equip the Soul Reaver (as you can't
cast any spells while wielding the Soul Reaver) then charge at Azimuth.  Ignore
the demons she summons as she will only keep summoning.  Once she is dead you
can easily dispatch her minions and collect both the Time Streaming Device and
Azimuth's Eye.  Continue on and activate the Bat Beacon before going to the
Pillars of Nosgoth.  Here you will learn of your next objective, to travel to
Willendorf and stop the Nemesis.

1.12- Willendorf
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Just follow the path until you come to a Bat Beacon.  Activate it and prepare
to enter the Spirit Wrack Dungeon to the East.  This is the last spell you will
acquire in the game.


                             Spirit Wrack Dungeon
                           ------------------------
Go North and save if you wish.  Head North into the first section, where you'll
want to use Control Mind on the human to the East.  Make him flip a switch,
then you can make him travel South to collect an item, or just kill him on the
spot.  Do the same with the human to the West.  Also, don't miss the sneaky
wall switch in the North West corner so you can grab some extra items.  Once
you are done travel North to the next section.

Simply avoid the spikes in this room and proceed North.  In this room, simply
follow the path to the next section.  Here, use Control Mind on the human and
grab Glyph #37 first.  After that grab the Spirit Wrack spell, which will
trigger some zombies that will kill the human.  Use the spell on the zombie and
flip the switch, then use the spell on the skeleton to the North.  Have him 
flip the switch and proceed to the next part.

Keep using Spirit Wrack to proceed throughout the dungeon.  It is all pretty
much straightforward.  You will acquire Glyph #38 in the section immediately
after acquiring the Spirit Wrack spell, as well as Health Vial #32 in the
section after that.  You will soon find the exit.  Head South to a new section
where you'll find a cave to the far South.  This is the last Blood Fountain of
Strength.  At this point you can get some secrets that have evaded you until 
now.

In the Status menu there is some information about slayings, meals,
mutilations, secrets, and total time played.  All of these, especially the
amount of secrets discovered, play a role in Kain's overall Prestige ranking.
I do not know the exact formula but here are the ranks in the order you obtain
them:

~ Gimp
~ Princess
~ Bride
~ Prince
~ Bloodhunter
~ Count
~ Baron
~ Overlord
~ Saint
~ Devourer of Worlds

My stats when I first noticed I became a Devourer of Worlds is as follows:
