"Diablo 2, above average"

Well… What I think about Diablo 2, it was not the greatest game I have ever played, but it really was not the worst either. I do not think it was as good as its original game, Diablo 1 was a true classic and a very fun pass time, not to mention a revolution.

Story: The story is pretty strong in this game, it does not have the same lasting effect on you as the first game but its still decent ,the hero of the first game turns into Diablo after jamming the soul stone into his forehead, you also have to fight some other demons and the lord of hate.

Interface: I did not like how they changed the skill system in this game, I found it to be much worse then being able to be a hybrid, in the first game a warrior could learn magic but now he can only learn from one of his 3 skill tree's. The rest of the interface ran pretty smooth, when you click your character goes there and you can run which is a good thing.

Game play: The game play in this game was pretty solid ,one change I did not enjoy was the way quests were given to a hero, in the first game quests were random but now they are set, you only have 6 quests to do total so no side quests. There are a fair amount of extra dungeons, crypts and caves to explore but all in all there is not enough of free roam in this game. The sections of wilderness are still based on random generator's which is good because it can make every play through different. There is still the same dungeons on each map. Waypoints are a pretty good feature that let you teleport without wasting all your town portal scrolls ,And there are tome's of identify and town portal to limit the space occupied by the scrolls.

Sound and audio: The monster sounds were pretty solid as with the first game, not much to say there. The voice acting was good, not great In my opinion but they were pretty good. The music was not able to set the same dark atmosphere, but it had more of a light atmosphere to it.

Multiplayer: There are much less hackers on battle-net with Diablo 2, it is a big improvement and thousands of people still play making finding friends and people to play with a breeze, my only regret is that its far to easy to get to level 99, people can get there in less then a weak using some of the new tricks on battle net, such as getting “ g rushed”(completed all 3 difficulty while still being level 1).but overall the multiplayer is still very fun and it gives purpose to play it more.

Buy or not to buy: Buy it, quick if you do not already have it. Play while there are still people playing this game online. The game is cheap now so may pick it up for a low price.
