Starship Troopers (2000)
Review by Humanvegetableonline
"Pretty Cool"
Introduction - I downloaded this game off of a website. The file was huge. I got all the sounds and everything. I realized that this game is pretty cool. It has it's own storyline. It's more different than the movie.
Gameplay - The gameplay is sort of like starcraft except you get a limited amount of units. This game has many things to equip your soldier with into battle. First you select a team of people, you equip them with weapons, armor, and items, and then you accept the mission. You may bring in a specialist if you want to. Specialists like a medic, MIST sniper, psychic, or engineer. In a mission, you will fight many nasty-ass bugs as big as a house. A normal mission might have you kill bugs, save people, escort, disable things, etc. Battles are fought with click and point just like starcraft. During battle you may run out of ammo, receive tremendous amount of damage, run into a soldier who's brain is on ''fire'', fight zombie-like soldiers with a larva in their brain, see bugs that aren't in the movie, etc. You can receive medals at the end of a mission if you did something good. You also receive weapon upgrades if you were good enough during the mission. Each soldier can become of different ranking, experience, and strength. This depends on how many bugs they have killed. This game is mainly about survival.
Story - This game shows you the war against the bug planet called Klendathu. The bugs of Klendathu are invading the Earth. It will show you the war from the beginning to the end with some extras. Most of the game is original.
Graphics/Sound - The graphics are simply excellent. The levels are huge and excellent. The bugs are excellent. The sounds are good. I liked it when the soldiers scream out something like ''KILL THEM ALL!'' or ''MY BRAIN IS ON FIRE!!''. There are many voices in this game for you to listen to.
Play Time/Replayability - The play time was very long. It takes a bit over an hour for each level because of the large levels. There are many levels. This game has absolutely no replayablity. Once you beat the game, that's it.
Final Recommendation - This game was a huge game and it takes many hours to explore. It's better than the movie. This game forces you to go back and forth alot. I find that annoying. What's even more annoying is that you have to go back and forth on levels that are 3 miles long. If you like Starship Troopers then you'll like this game. I think it was cool.
