Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX
Review by wing2871x
""Whether it be Vert nor Dirt nor Street, This Game Is a Blast!""
Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX- This game was really tight and fun. At first, when my brother bought it, it looked like another piece of junk waste of money computer game. But it was none of that. This game presents itself very well, showing Dave Mirra in actually biking videos, getting the player pumped up. It has a great selection for everything, and does take a good deal of skill to play. This is the BEST by far of all the Dave Mirra Games; and that, ladies and gents, is what surprised me most.
Gameplay (9/10) This is quite fun. You can pick from a variety of characters, including Matt Hoffman and Dave Mirra Himself. You go though different levels, doing all sorts of tricks, whether it be vert, street, or dirt. You travel from ocean boarding lands to a where house, and attend annual competitions at the end of each three part level. Excellent fun for a biking game.
Graphics/Sound (8/10) Not the best graphics; but the game is two years old. Still, the color is great, even though the graphics can get quite choppy at times. Decent pixels and definition and tone. The sound is very good. Rock music while your “ripping up the pipes, and tearing up the turns” as they would say. The braking sound is also well made.
Controls (10/10) Controls can be fully altered. You can set them to exactly what you want, just make sure you have a decent keyboard to play with. As for the moves you control, the game normally reacts to what you press, but like most games if you press it too slow nothing will happen but a spin then a wipeout.
Play Time/Replay (9/10): This game took me a while to beat, and you can play it once over before you get tired. While you do have the game, you will become obsessed with beating all the levels to get to the competitions and then acing those. You can earn new bikes as you get better, along with new clothes, sponsors, and even new characters.
Overall (9/10): Buy this game, it is very enjoyable. I would say rent if your not sure- but I’m not positive if it is rentable. It saves your game to the C drive or the hard drive so it takes up little space, and is fun from beginning to end. A great accomplishment for Akklaim.
