I. Introduction
=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*
This is another building series/sim/tycoon games where you have to build a
resort within days plus you have to be prepare (on some of the scenarios) for
some of the island's "specialty" such as bad weathers (rain, storm, heat
waves, thunderstorm), poor water supply, and yeah... SHARKS!!
You'll have a pretty good range of building varieties. There are two types of
how you like to play the game. First, play with scenarios where you have to
meet the objectives within days. And second, play using the sandbox mode
where no objectives to be met. There's a catch though, in order to get more
islands/areas in the sandbox mode, you have to finish the scenarios related
to it first. For scenarios mode, there are twelve scenarios in total.
Despite the fact I really enjoyed this kind of game; however, from my opinion,
this game should not be rated for teens as one of the scenarios definitely
meant for adults plus the use of alcohols.

The Building Menu (The first green button on the main panel) shows what can
be built some items will be greyed-out; to build these, you must already own
structure shown "requires" field. The little number over each icon show how
many of that structure you already have. When you're placing buildings on
the island, remember you can rotate them, using either the mouse wheel or
the space bar.

^ 2. Mission #2 - If It Ain't Broke - Cachet ^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Description:
Cachet is an older resort that needs repairs and further development.
The existing buildings are breaking down more and more frequently and
guests are complaining about the lack of facilities. It does have some
great beaches, but seas in the region are noted for the sudden, strong
currents; you'll need to improve safety here too.
Hint:
You need Mechanics to cope with the repairs here; when you build a Mechanic
Hut, you get one Mechanic. To hire more, go to the "Staff Control Panel"
by right clicking on any of the staff photos on the main panel.
You'll need Lifeguards too; they patrol the stretch of beach where you build
their Tower and will rescue anyone getting into difficulty nearby.
Progress:
- Build any structures the island hasn't got, AND
- Hire at least 3 mechanics to cope with repairs, AND
- Let no more than 5 guests drown, all before 11:00 Day 5
Island Info: 3.7km area
How to complete it:
This is another tutorial mission that shows you the necessity of facilities.
Again, you'll be able to complete this mission without problem. Just remember
one thing though, build more than one Lifeguard Tower since a lifeguard has
a limit range of how long the stretch of beach s/he can patrol.
^ 3. Mission #3 - Something In The Water - Tempest Island ^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Description:
Tempest island just seems to attract troubles - it's infamou for its poor
water supply and whatever else can go wrong usually does! The guests aren't
happy at all and the food and drink seems to be upsetting them.
Litter is a big problems too, but other that that, this is a really great
places to be!
Hint:
On islands with water pollution problems you'll need to build Water Cleaning
Plant. Without one, your guests will soon get very ill...(Even with one,
you'll need to keep it well maintained to avoid problems)
You'll also encounter Holiday Reps on this level; they're great for cheering
guests up, so hire a few - they'll help you raise the stars rating of
the resort.
Progress:
- Build Water Cleaning Plant to clean up the water, AND
- Get the litter count on the island below 20 items, AND
- Get a Resort Rating of 3.5 + stars, all before Day 5

1 Theme Bar 1
1 Cafe 1
1 General Store
1 Soft Drink Stall
1 Ice Cream Stall
How to complete it:
- First, build Mechanic Hut as it's required in order to build Water Cleaning
Supply. After that build Water Cleaning Plant so your guests sickness
problem will be solved. Remember to have the mechanic inspects it
frequently.
- Build Cleaner's Shack to clean the entire littering problem.
It helps too to put a rubbish bin near the soft drink stall and food stall.
Build Toilet as you don't have one in your resort.
- After meet two of the objectives, you will spend the rest of the days
raising your Resort Rating.
- To raise the Resort Rating; First, build Representative Chalet to takecare
your guests. Second, build beach buildings since few of them are low cost.
Don't forget lots of scenery always a good thing. The resort has pretty
much everything for the guests except Restaurant, so build it in order
for the guests to have a place to eat decent meal.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
^ 4. Mission #4 - Scorcher! - Sol ^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Description:
Things are heating up! Sol is a sun-worshippers dream; gorgeous beaches
and baking hot sunshine all day long. (Watch out for heat waves -
guests will need lots of suntan lotion).
You need to build paths, attractions, scenery, everything!
Do it quickly though - the guests are already starting to arrive.
To win, you need to get an island population of at least 150 guests
before the start of Day 10.
Hint:
The key to attracting guests is to get a good Resort Rating - more stars
means more incoming guests. (New guests will quickly leave if you don't
have enough apartments though; they become 'day trippers').
Look out for the new types of beer on this level - play around with their
strength setting to see what impact they have.
Progress:
- Collect $1500+ fines with the new Security Guards, AND
- Build a General Store to supply Suntan Lotion, AND
- Get at least 150 people on the island, all before Day 10

Main Hotel
1 Power Plant
How to complete it:
- You have big island for development this time.
- First, build Security Office so you can start getting money from fine.
One advise though, in order for you to get money from fine effectively,
you have to build more than one Security Office and max the employees.
Or if you don't have the money, perhaps max out the employees and devide
them in day shift and night shift. Busy day is around 09:00-19:00 and
busy night around 19:00-03:00.
- Second, build General Store to get rid of "Suntan" complains.
- Build Lifeguard Towers, Hotel Pool, other beach buildings, facilities,
and Accommodation Block since you need more rooms for your guests
to reach the objective number of guests.
- Build a place for them to eat, to get beer. I recommend you build a Beach
Barbeque and Beach Bar since it's cheap.
Don't forget Soft Drink Stall too.
- Scenery, scenery, and scenery!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
^ 5. Mission #5 - Don't Cramp My Style! - Tinsay ^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Description:
Probably the smallest island you'll encounter, Tinsay is a gem of an island
surrounded by beautiful beaches, clam seas and errr...sharks!
You'll need to choose what to build very carefully as there isn't enough
room for everything. Squeeze in at least fourteen different structures and
protect the guests from the sharks to win.
Hint:
Your lifeguards will really come into their own on this island; as well as
rescuing swimmers in trouble; they have the power to close the seas when
conditions are dangerous. Be on the lookout for sharks and prepare to ban
swimming when needed. (Click on your lifeguards or Tower to access the
swimming safety level).
Progress:
- Construct at least 14 different buildings, AND
- Lose no more than 5 guests to sharks, both before 17:00 Day 5
Island info: 1,8km area
Gorgeous with occasional showers
32C, 88F

Builder's Yard
Complain Hut
Main Hotel
2 Power Plants
1 Representative Chalet
1 Water Supply Plant
1 Ice Cream Stall
1 Hotel Pool
1 Beach Bar
1 Beach Furniture Shack
How to complete it:
- Quickly build Lifeguard Tower as many as possible to watch over swimmers.
If you see the sharks (in little map, it'll shown as white dots at the sea)
quickly click the nearest Lifeguard Tower to the sharks and click "close".
This means you ban that strecth of beach from activities.
Once the sharks are gone, you can open the beach again.
Keep in mind that a lifeguard has their own limit of strecth of beach
they can patrol. This is effect how quickly they can response to any
troubled swimmers. That's why you have to make sure you build a decent
amount of Lifeguard Towers, so they can cover the whole beach,
- Then build low cost building that need small power consumption, as you do
not have the luxury to build everything that you want. Since you have a
limitation of resort area, you can develop your beach area. Don't forget to
build facilities.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
^ 6. Mission #6 - Girls, Girls, Girls! - Isla Man ^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Description:
Isla Man already has the most things a good resort needs; lots of bars, great
beaches and plenty of to do. It doesn't have many female guests though!
(And the guys are getting lonely...) Try to attract more women to the island
by building facilities with a stronger female appeal - if you do, boatloads
should soon start pouring in - Woohoo!
Hint:
To attract more women, the Female Appeal of the island has to be higher than
the Male. All buildings have an appeal level of each sex, so build
(or demolish) carefully to alter the overall appeal levels. (check the appeal
level by clicking on the stars on the main panel). To encourage guests to get
more amorous, you'll also need to play around with the strengths and type of
beer on sale...
Progress:
- Get at least 50 couples to have a romp on the beach, AND
- Keep the island population at or above 100 guests, AND
- Get an average Totty Opinion of 3 + stars, all before Day 8
Island Info: 3,7km area

1 Hotel Pool
1 Fun Pool
1 Theme Bar 1
1 Amusement Arcade
1 Poolside Bar
1 Fast Food Stall
1 Beach Bar
1 Beach Furniture Shack
1 Beach Equipment Rental
How to complete it:
- First, don't demolish anything because it will make your guests unhappy
and eventually depart from your resort, now we don't want that since we
can't go lower than 100 guests, once you hit below 100 guests, you'll
automatically lose.
- Second, look for buildings that have Female Appeal Rating higher than
Male, such as Beach Shower, Ice Cream Stall, Cocktail, Theme Clubs,
Restaurants, Jacuzzi, Beach Disco, Casino, Pedalo Rental, and Speedboat
Rental. DO NOT build; I repeat; DO NOT build anything that has Male
Appeal Rating higher than Female Appeal Rating.
We already have enough of that.
- Third, change the type of the beer you sell. For Poolside Bar,
Beach Bar, Theme Bars, and Theme Clubs change to "Cape Horn", also put
the strength of the beer to 3/4. For Cocktail Bar change to "Horny Toad"
also put the strength of the beer to 3/4.
Soon, you will see the result of your "dirty work". *Evil Grin*
- I could never get the Female Appeal Rating shows much higher than Male.
At the end I got 3 stars Female Appeal Rating and 2 1/2 stars Male
Appeal Rating, but that will do my friend, that will do.

^ 7. Mission #7 - It's A Beauty - Emerald Island ^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Description:
The resort here was destined to be a real beauty, but the previous
developer opened it before it was complete and then ran out of money.
The guests there now are VERY unhappy and there's a bit or a riot
in progress!
Calm the situation down by completing the resort and getting some
scenery built, then see if you can get guest number up...
Hint:
You'll need to raise opinions generally to get to the target number of
guests, but focus on scenery building to get the average Beauty Opinion
higher too.
Getting people drunk shouldn't be too hard (If you use a very strong beer
that is - Smiley is too weak to have an effect), but be sure you're able
to deal with the after effect...
Progress:
- Get the average Beauty Opinion up to 4+ stars, AND
- Get 75+ guests drunk at any one time, AND
- Get at least 200 guests on the island, all before Day 6
Island Info: 4,2km area
1 Power Plant
1 Cleaner's Shack
1 Soft Drink Stall
1 Fast Food Stall
1 Hotel Pool
1 Beach Bar
1 Theme Bar 1
1 Restaurant 1
How to complete it:
- First, change the work hours of your builders so you can have them work
right away. Then build Security Office; trust me, you'll need it as there
will be vandalism in your resort as a result of drunken guests. Also
since the scenario didn't provide you with extra Accommodation other
that your Main Hotel, you will need to build at least two of
Accommodation Block to reach the magic number of guests. Build more places
for the guests to get drunk, the lowest building price will be beach bar.
- Second, put lots of flowers and fountains to boost the Beauty Rating.
- Change the beer type to "Smasher" and the strength to the strongest,
remember to devide your security and mechanic employees work hours so
you always have them ready to work around the clock since you
need the security officers to fine(also stop) all those guests who smashed
your properties and the mechanics to repair it.
^ 8. Mission #8 - Milk It! - Lotto ^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Description:
Lotto is a new, exclusive resort specially aimed at wealthier guests.
You can't cut corners as you develop it, because only the best will do,
though if you get it right, these guests will part with their money very
easily...
You've got 10 days to try and generate $30,000 income in any one day.
Hint:
Guests here maybe wealthy, but they're also extremely fussy. They won't
tolerate long lines, poor maintenance, or an ugly resort.
Make them happy though, and they'll pay as much as double the usual
prices(or even more...) See how far you can push it!
Progress:
- Raise the average Safety Opinion to 4+ stars, AND
- Generate $30,000 income on any one day, both before Day 10
Island Info: 3,8km area

How to complete it:
- Build all the necessary facilities/scenery as these guests want
a clean, safety, and pretty resort.
- Since you have a bit more money than other scenarios, spend it for
party buildings since it generate quite a chunk of money. Also build
Souvenir Store too, the default price will be $35 but you can put
higher price, do not over do it though, they're picky about price too.
- Make sure the Mechanics have all the buildings check frequently,
once the Building Status reach Poor or worst; Dangerous, the guests
will avoid that building.
- To reach Good Safety Level makes sure:
+ No guests drowned/eaten
+ No vandalism
+ Buildings always in good condition(that means no 'Poor' or 'Dangerous')

^ 9. Mission #9 - Don't Leave Me Now - Sortee ^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Description:
Sortee has been up and running for a while now, but the previous owner
was inexperienced, and overlooked some of the basics.
This, a recent spell of bad weather, and some beer supply problems have
led to many guests leaving unhappy.
You know that you can do better and have made a large bet with the
owner: If after 5 days there are no more than 8 unhappy leavers;
the owner will give you $100,000!
Hint:
Do anything and everything that you can think to keep the guests happy.
Provide some of the missing attractions and avoid unhappy leavers at
all costs!
You have until midnight on Day 4.
Progress:
Survive until Day 5 no more than 8 unhappy leavers.
How to complete it:
- You have to act quickly since you can not afford guests leaving
your resort unhappy.
- Build Mechanic's Hut as you want to have good buildings condition
to boost the resort Safety Rating.
- Build Beach Bar since it's cheap and you need this to unlock the beach
buildings.
- Put flowers and fountains to boost the resort Beauty Rating.
- Build attractions that you don't have it yet because your guests
will ask for more things to do, during the day and at night.
- You can't avoid unhappy leavers, however you can minimize it.
I completed it with 4 unhappy leavers.
^ 10. Mission #10 - Party On! - Larjanit ^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Description:
Clubbers everywhere would love Larjanit, but the existing resort has
been built to appeal to older guests.
It desperately needs more clubs, bars, and discos if it's to appeal
to party people.
See if you can re-theme the resort and get people partying in
hundreds!
Hint:
Develop more clubs, bars, and discos to boost the appeal of the island.
Don't be afraid of demolishing some of the existing structures or
scenery to make room for them!
To get 125 people partying in no mean feat; you'll need around 300
guests on the island and 2 or 3 places for them to party...
Progress:
- Build at least 3 new Bars, AND
- Build Theme Club 2, AND
- Get 125+ guests partying at one time, all before Day 5

1 Shower
1 Pedalo Rental
1 Windsurfing
How to complete it:
- First, BE QUICK!! Or other wise you'll lose guests soon and you can't
afford that.
- Second, Build Theme Bar 1 first because it requires to build Theme
Club 1 and 2. As soon as your worker built it, build Theme Club 1,
you have to have at least one place to party at the first one,
otherwise people will leave. One Theme Club could sustain around 20-40
people. I tried to count the people but it's just too freaking hard. ^_^!
- Third, Build Jet-Skis Rental so you can build Party Boat.
Trust me you'll need this place for people to Party, specially for men.
- Then build Party Boat and Theme Club 2 if you haven't build it.
If you do that, so far you have 3 places to party, if you build
two Party Boats that's even better. Beside Party Boat is way cheaper
than Theme Club.
- Build cheap buildings to keep your guests happy. Jacuzzi would be nice.
- To maintain good number of guests it's quite hard in this scenarios.
By the second day, my guests' numbers were drop to 160's.
When I completed this scenario, I had around 270 guests,
made it at Day 4 - 23:45!!

Description:
Sabot is your last change to truly express yourself!!
It's a completely undeveloped island just crying out for attractions.
It has plenty of room for construction and a good long stretch of
beach too.
What's more, you've received a generous loan to develop it with!
$100,000 no less! Better get spending...
Hint:
Develop the resort quickly and spend, spend, spend! You'll win if you can
get a Resort Rating of 4 stars or better with at least 250 guests on the
island before Day 6 (Phew!)
Progress:

but no...It's hard. The closest number I got is a freaking 249!!
And no guest left unhappy - meaning everyone left my resort according to
their vacation schedules. You'll be able to get Resort Rating 4+ stars
with no problem though. I'll update this scenario once I completed it.

****************************************************************************
=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*
VI. Resort Rating
=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*
There are several aspects you have to consider if you want to get a good
Resort Rating.
1. Price
Guest has a limit on how much they're willing to pay to enjoy their
vacation. Charging them too much will lead you to nothing but loss.
If you must mark up the default price, try not to overdo it, just
mark up $1-$3.
However, there is a special scenario where your guests are
exclusive people that allow you to mark up the price quite significant.
2. Scenery
Everyone loves a beatiful resort. Boost Beauty Rating by placing lots of
fountains. Remember fountain has 3 stars whereas statues only has 2 stars.
Lowlight is a must because drunken guests can't destroy lowlight.
If you put streetlamp, drunken guests will destroy it.
3. Comply to your guests request
If they asked for a certain type of building/attraction and you build it
immediately, this will boost your Resort Rating as you responsed promptly
to your guests needs.
4. Safety
Guests need to feel safe in your resort. There are several ways to
increase the Safety Rating of your resort. First, don't let your guest
drowned or be eaten by shark. Second, you have to have good condition
buildings. Meaning, inspect your buildings frequently.
Third, you can't afford having vandalism in your resort.
Drunken guests could mean trouble. They will either go straight to the
apartment and pass out or start destroying your property such as
garbage bin and streetlamp. As other guests saw this ruins property,
their opinion about the resort will go down. Thus, you need
Security Officer to prevent all this.
5. Clean Resort
A clean resort is always a plus. Make sure you have the staffs
ready to empty the garbage bin, clean litters, clean the toilet.
A tip for you guys, for the toilet gets clean quickly; change one of the
cleaner's duty into just to clean the toilet and have the rest of the
guys clean litters and empty bins.
6. Good Balance of Female and Male Guests
The guests didn't go to your resort just to have vacation, but also they
want to have fun with someone else. If you click your guest, you will see
his/her info and opinion. One of these opinion is Babe Opinion which is
about how's s/he thinks about the number of the opposite sex. Try to
reach an equal number of guests between female and male.
To get an equal number of female and male guests, you have to play with
the Female Appeal Rating and Male Appeal Rating.
Every building; well almost every building, has Female Appeal Rating and
Male Appeal Rating. Male guests like some of the buildings more that
female, and it works the other way around too.
You can look at Female Appeal Rating and Male Appeal Rating to predict how many
female and male guests will come to your resort.
Sustain a good balance between Female Appeal Rating and Male Appeal
Rating. Sustain it, your guests will be happy, otherwise,
they will complain that your resort is lack of the opposite sex.
7. Varieties
Every person likes varieties of activities that they can do. You don't
want them to have a lousy holiday now, do you? It's hard to build all
the building that available for you and the time straints didn't help
either, but you can build buildings that have more priorities. Which
one? Well, for a start; build all the facilities first. Then you can
develop your beach activities. After that, build a bar; the cheapest one
is beach bar which also not require much power. Don't forget to build
Hotel Pool.

VII. Weather Problems and Hazardous
=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*
# Weather Problems #
--------------------
1. Light Rain
Vacation and rain?That's a bad thing. If it rains, your guests will feel
down, and then go to indoors(read:non beach) activities, even though
some of the guests stubborn enough to continue with their beach
activities. This is why you've got to have varieties in your resort.
2. Heavy Rain
When heavy rain kicks in, no guest will spend their time on the beach,
expect probably to eat and drink.
3. Thunderstorm
Some of the guests afraid of thunder. ^_^! So far I haven't see either
the building or the guest had lighting strike.
4. Heat waves
Heat waves didn't stop guests from their activities but would make them
buy more suntan lotion to stop their burnt skin. You'll notice a guest
who has burnt skin, her/his skin colour would be in bright red/orange.
# Hazardous #
-------------
1. Sharks
Some of the island has this "specialty". Every once a while, a group of
sharks will show up at your beach and taste human flesh. @_@!
Well they'll try. If they didn't show up at every strecth of your beach
feel very lucky since you still have beach activities at some part for
your guests. If you saw little dots on the map at your upper left screen,
quickly click the nearest Lifeguard Tower from the sharks and choose
"Close" which means you ban that strecth of beach. If by any chance, some
of your guests already in the water, they will go back again, but people
who rent the snorkel didn't for some reason. They're just swimming around
didn't know that there are sharks near them.
2. Poor Water Supply
Every food and drink place needs water to serve their foods and drinks.
With poor water supply, it'll make the guests sick, in other word
food poisoning. Guests who sick will throw up and as that result, the
resort is full of litters. Ugghh.....
You'll have two problems now; food poisoning and littering. You can solve
that problems by building Water Cleaning Plant and Cleaner's Shack.
There are three jobs they do; clean litters, clean toilets, and
empty bins. In order to have a clean resort quick, have one of the cleaner
just cleans litters.
3. Sudden strong current at sea
Sometimes swimmers got caught in the strong current at sea. When they do,
make sure your Lifeguard is there, ready to save the day. However, you
have to keep in mind that to save a troubled swimmer you've got to have
a Lifeguard at that strecth of beach. Build a Lifeguard Tower as many as
you can because they have a limit of how far they can patrol.

VIII. Day and Night Activities
=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=
Day Activities
--------------
The guests will start they day activities as early as 07:00. Although the
buildings open at 09:00. Most likely they will go to the buildings that open
24 hours such as Hotel Pool, Theme Bar, Jacuzzi, Amusement Arcade,
Soft Drink Stall, and Beach Barbeque.
It'll be great if you built more Beach Barbeque. It always flocks with guests
and guests don't like to queue too long. All the beach buildings except for
Beach Disco and Party Boat will open at 09:00.
Night Activities
----------------
Guests like night activities. Beer, Party, Beer, Party, Beer, Party!!
The more varieties they have, the happier they are. Restaurant is a must if
you have the money because there is no other way for the guests to get
a decent meal. Guest likes to party too. From my point of a view it's
better to attract younger guests.
The night will be on when the time hits 21:00. The guests will party on all
night until 04:00. For guests who drunk the night before, they will wake up
with a bad headache. This is why you need to have General Store in your
resort as the store sells aspirin and suntan lotion.
