"This can never get old!!"
Firstly, I admit the Tony Hawk series has gotten old. All games after 2 seem to be getting worse. There's just not much life in the series left. I still enjoyed 3, but nowhere near as much as 1 and 2.
Anyway; I only bought this game after seeing it at the shops for $5 as my gaming collection was getting a tad stale, and I have, and still loved every minute.
This is a bit of a mixed bag. Some people prefer the Dual Shock controls and some (like me) prefer the keyboard. For the console gamers, a USB adapter for Dual Shock is fairly inexpensive and is obviously the best choice. For all other gamers, a keyboard is in use. No matter who you are, this WILL hurt your hands (sorry, but it's the truth). Thankfully this is made up for by its precision control. You'll praise how easily you can do a manual in those tight spots. I like the controls personally, but it's only a matter of opinion.
Well, um... you skate to win tournaments and... That’s it!
This stands out as the game looks really colorful as your high resolution PC monitors really make it stand out from its console brothers. The only problem is this can some times seem a little too clean. But overall, still good.
The in game sounds are nice, but not too impressive. The real star of the show is the soundtrack, featuring the likes of AFI, Alien Ant Farm, KRS and MANY more. The best bit is that a soundtrack editor is easy to download so you can put your MP3's on instead. ^_^
We finally made it, what you've all been waiting for (*drum roll*) the gameplay (*applause*)Firstly, the single player game is the same as before with new, slightly larger levels, you complete objectives in a two minute run again, and again until you make your way to a tournament to win medals. The thing that really stands out is the multiplayer mode, Forget Counter Strike (just for a little while of course ^_^) because some of the best times I’ve had in recent times involved playing this late at night. For a long time I completely skipped the story mode for the sake of another graffiti game with a few friends. The problem is that it hasn't been put together with care. It is completely FULL of bugs. In some servers, I will get stuck (unable to skate) every 2nd game. That is the main problem, but there’s still the issue of people getting disconnected from the server VERY often. Still great fun though. :P
RENT OR BUY
If you don't have this game already then by all means get it, but no use having two versions of the same game.
