The great thing about GTAIII other than the game play, life span, graphics and
so on is the weapons, there are 12 normal and one special weapon to make a mess
of the city and paint the walls red. If it wasnít for the weapons this would be
like Driver 2, donít get me wrong, Driver 2 was a great game but it does not
even come close to GTAIII. This would also be just another car game if it
wasnít for the little beauties.
OK, most of the stats for the weapons you will see here make no sense at all,
and I have no idea what they mean but here are some of the ones I have worked
out.
WEAPON NAME: name of weapon (duh!!!)
FIRE TYPE: Swing (MELEE), hit what you aim at (INSTANT_HIT),
fly through the air until it hits something (PROJECTILE)
or effects whats in the area around it (AREA EFFECT).
RANGE: how far the weapon can fire.
AMMOUNT OF AMMO: how much ammo is in 1 clip.
FIRING RATE: the smaller the number the quicker it fires.
RELOAD: the smaller the number the quicker it reloads.
DAMAGE: how much damage is done in one shot.
LIFE SPAN: how long the effect lasts, E.G MOLOTOV = LONG TIME.
SPREAD: how far the effect goes from the point of impact..

Wanna know where to find these weapons on the three islands, well hereís where.

On All Islands a Shotgun will be gained for each police car you get into.
Most of the gangs drop weapons but depending on what mission you are on this
can change so I have decided not to include this yet. Also you get a certain
weapon
and infinite ammo when you do a rampage but these are not here, check the
Rampage guide.

Portland:
Unarmed: Hmm, if you cant find this your seriously messed up.
BaseBallBat: Outside Hideout
Colt45: On little ledge off the right hand side of the Callahan Bridge.
Uzi: On top of sawmill in Trenton, alley way in ST. Marks, near Marcos Bistro,
end of path near car crusher.
Shotgun: Around the side of El Burro park, On top of garage in ST. Marks, must
go across rooftop garden to get it.
Ak47: On top of Liberty City Pharmaceuticals in Trenton, around the back of
place in ST. Marks where a Mafia car is parked.
FlameThrower: Jump off El Train Tracks onto the roof of Head Radio.
Molotovs: Tramp tunnel connecting 8 balls to supa save. (credit to digital
druggie).

Staunton Island:
Unarmed: Hmm, if you cant find this your seriously messed up.
BaseBallBat: Outside hideout
Shotgun: Next to statue in Belleville Park, on a ledge near the water along
from the church.
AK47: Construction site, Church.
SniperRifle: On rooftop accessible by jumping off the corner of Staunton - SSV
Bridge.
Molotovs: From the hospital head up the stairs and enter the Liberty Campus,
they are on the left.
M16: In The projects, must go up stairs and down ramp.

ShoreSide Vale:
Unarmed: Hmm, if you cant find this your seriously messed up.
BaseBallBat: Outside Hideout
Shotgun: Little platform at water level next to the dam.
AK47: Around the side of punk noodles.
M16: One of the Swank houses, first hut on lower dam.
SniperRifle: Grassy section at the lower part of the dam.
FlameThrower: Underneath  SSV Bridge.

Some other ways of getting weapons are:

Cheat:
All Weapons: R2,R2, L1,R2,Left,Down,Right,up,Left,Down,Right,up

Get all 100 hidden packages, there are 33 in Portland, 36 in Staunton Island
and 31 in Shoreside Vale, each time you get 10 you will get a pager telling you
a weapon has been delivered to the hideout.
These are:

10: Colt45
20: Uzi
30: Grenades
40: Shotgun
50: * Not Weapon* Armour
60: Molotovís
70: AK47
80: SniperRifle
90: M16
100: RocketLauncher

The only way to get the FlameThrower is to complete 20 Fire-fighter missions on
each island (thatís 60 in total). Thanks to S Kalb for correcting me.

Also the other places you can get weapons are the Ammu-Nation stores, which are
found all over the 3 islands, the army surplus store and the police station
shop.

There are a number of ways to lose your weapons, I will only cover the ones
not in missions.

Run out of ammo:
Obviously when you run out of ammo for a specific weapon it disappears.

Busted:
When you are arrested you will lose all of your weapons except unarmed, Duh.

Wasted:
When you die you lose all of your weapons except unarmed, Duh.

To get them to use their Pistol you must stand up on a car so you are higher
than them and then get them mad.(Credit to Viktorious and s kalb for pointing

Fun Things To Do + Good Sniping Places

In Liberty City there are lots of ways to kill people but there are lots of
fun things to do with weapons as well. for a start you can:
blow up cars
blow up the gas tanks at the gas station
smash glass
you can blow the cone off the statue outside the airport with a rocket launcher
Shoot surroundings like bins and dumpsters
blow down fences with the rocket launcher or grenades
blow up red barrels

Some of the other good things you can do are sniping.
there are a number of good place where you can snipe people here are a few of
the best.

Other Things To Do With Weapons

There are more than enough things to do with weapons in the game without
cheating but if you must the fun cheats to put on would be the peds have
weapons code. I'm not sure but i think this code is permanent and will Fuck up
your save game so dont save with it on.

All Peds Have Weapons:
R2, R1, Triangle, X, L2, L1, Up, Down

Increased Gore Code- no confirmation. Lets you shoot limbs and heads off.
Square, L1, O, Down, L1, R1, Triangle, Right, L1, X
