"If you love cars, this is your game"
This game is for car fanatics. With a huge variety of cars to choose from, you can race on courses in one of four variations, forward, forward mirrored, backward, and backward mirrored. In the past, Need for Speed games have been very entertaining, and Hot Pursuit 2 is no exception.
Hot Pursuit 2 is great fun. You can create a profile and later, after you've raced around a bit, you can view your progress.
All throughout the races, you will receive NFS (Need For Speed) points. You can use these to buy new cars and tracks for use in Single Race.
This game is somewhat hard, but after you get the hang of it, you can take on harder, more difficult challenges. One thing I find interesting about this game is that you yourself don't the level of difficulty. The earlier on you are, the less difficult it will be. As you progress, the tracks get harder, your vehicles get faster, and your opponents get more skilled.
There are 5 race modes (Hot Pursuit, Championship, Single Race, Be The Cop, and Quick Race). In Hot Pursuit, this is what the game is known for, you race against other cars while the cops are right on your butt (there are also some other cars in traffic). At first, the cops only chase after you with one, possibly two, patrol cars. But the farther you progress in the game, as well as in the race, the cops start getting tougher. Eventually they will give you some great surprises, but I'll leave it to you to figure out what those are. In Championship, you race against other cars. But you get a break in this mode...no cops and no traffic! In Single Race, you can customize your own race. How many opponents, number of laps, etc. In Be The Cop, (that's right, you guessed it) you get to be the cop. Choose your car and chase after the speeders. The better, faster your car, the better, faster the speeder's car. In Quick Race, the computer does everything for you. It chooses everything from the car to the track for you. All you have to do is race.
The graphics of this game are exceptionally good. If you don't have a good computer, they may not be as great. One thing that does get annoying though, is when you wreck and your hood pops up. It stays there, and it gets irritating. Overall, the graphics are really nice.
The sound for Hot Pursuit 2 is like that of the recent Madden NFL games. They got some cool tracks for this game, including the vocal version and even the instrumental version of them all.
This game may take a while to complete. There are many races in Hot Pursuit and Championship. It will take even more time if you want to get medals in them all.
The replayability for Not Pursuit 2 is not very good. Once you complete Hot Pursuit and Championship, there isn't much else to do besides go back and get a better medal than you got before. However, you can always earn extra NFS points and play single race. And you can always create a new profile, but then you have to start back over.
As you can see, I like the game. But it's your opinion that matters if you get the game. In total, this game is worth the money.
