"Not Much Of A Change From The Original, But Still Great.."

Gameplay: 8/10

This game has a interface and design all its own. You choose an amusement park that has some kind of problem, and attempt to fix that problem within a certain amount of time. To do this, you either build new rides and attractions, or fix the existing ones (to renew them, or possibly to stop them from killing anyone who goes on it). The build system can be very easy, if you use the predesigned rides. Building your own rides can be a little more complicated. Contrary to its name, you can build other types of rides, as well as food stands and the like to keep your guests happy.

The ride design system has improved a LOT, with the added ''Ride Editor'', which gives you a completely blank screen and allows you to build any ride and save it for use in the main game. Also, the option to save a track of your own design is a lot easier, considering that in the first one, you had to drag the file menu and have the track tested. With the new system, all you've got to do is click one button and your design is saved.

In addition to the newer interface and system, Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 has the 6 Flags park license, which includes a few actual parks as levels. Only problem is, the only rides that the game got from 6 Flags are the original rides, and none of the ones like Batman:The Dark Knight (Some of the rides are there under different names). However, redesigning an actual park can be one of the coolest things to do.

The only reason I didn't give this game the 10 for gameplay is because of the simple fact that although this game is brand new and has changed some things, it's basically only the first game with a newer interface and some new rides (not that this is a bad thing, mind you).

Keep in mind that this game isn't Grand Theft Auto. If you don't like simulations, then don't buy this game.

Sound: 6/10

The sounds of lift chains clanking, people screaming as the rollercoaster they're on takes a plunge, or just little kids laughing as they go to the entrance of the same ride for the 5th time, they're all great. You can select music for your rides to play, and it all sounds perfect in the end.

Graphics: 6/10

While the graphics really aren't top-notch for the people, Rollercoaster Tycoon has improved a lot on the graphics for the rides. Everything looks a lot smoother, and the blockiness I occasionally saw in the first game has been smoothed out. The only thing that should have been improved graphically is the inability to manually turn the screen more or less than 90 degrees.

Storyline: 7/10

No, there isn't a storyline for the main game at all, but the reasons for things not being able to be done (for example, in Rollercoaster Tycoon 1, there was a map where you couldn't remove trees. The only reason given was ''Because the local authority says so''.) have been improved, so that there really isn't anything that doesn't make sense.

Buy/Borrow/Rent: Buy. If you borrow this from a friend, or rent it from said friend, you'll never be able to get a handle on the real manual construction mode aspect of the whole thing.

Overall, a good game for anyone wishing to give it a try, or fans of the first one, stay away if you don't like simulations.
