"Seeing the best book written out on your PC!"
THIS GAME REALLY ROCKS! This is so cool, I don't think that Black Label Games or Peter Jackson could have done better.
The best anyone has seen, is seeing, or ever will see.
What's this? Someone who doesn't even know what Lord of the Rings is? Trust me, if you don't even know what this is, I won't bother explaining it. Never mind, I will anyway.
Basically, the races of elves, men, and dwarves forged rings to control their nations. But then, a dark lord Sauron forged a master ring that would control all other rings. He arose terror, and took away many nations. A last alliance of men and elves marched against Sauron. Victory was near, when Ithilden, one of the rulers of men was killed. Isildur his son, took up his sword that was shattered, and cut the Ring from Sauron's hand. But Isildur kept the ring, and later it was dropped at the bottom of the sea, right before Sauron's soldiers ran him through with a spear. The Ring passed to the creature Gollum, then was picked up by a most unusual creature: Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit of the Shire. Now, both the Ring and Sauron want to be reunited.
Who could think of anything better than J.R.R. Tolkien?
Good game, but what other game could clip so much?
Graphics = good.
Clipping = bad.
Good graphics + clipping = frustrating.
I really don't know much about what to say here, but the graphics rock! Only the animation doesn't, plus in cutscenes the sound and graphics aren't usually synchronized.
Good story, so how bad can the game be?
True, how bad can it be? Not at all.
Basically, it goes along the original story gameplay, you play as Frodo, Aragorn, and Gandalf in the game. The goal is to get to the end of the level without doing something that would fail your mission. For example, going to look for something at the end of an endless pit. If you do, you get a message reading, "You have fallen to your death!" Or, of course, running out of health. One of the cool things about this game is that you can put on the ring, but doing so drains your corruption bar. When it empties, GAME OVER! So let's try not to be tempted too much! Lots of people complain about this game being way too short. That's because these are people who just zip through this game and don't take time to visit the different places. If you look at the level maps, the game is huge. Not much room to complain. Plus, in the last level, if you find Gollum, he gives you a really cool fish that can kill enemies quickly. This really isn't a combat game, it's an exploration game. No difficulty levels to choose from, unfortunately. This really is a beautiful, well-thought game. Too bad it got some bad interviews. But overall, this is not bad at all.
I said it before, I'll say it once more: Lots of people complain about this game being way too short. That's because they don't take time to visit the different places. If you look at the level maps, the game is huge. Not much room to complain.
Nope, sorry. Replayability is closed.
Not much replay value here, you might have missed some side quests, or want to unlock the secret weapon for Aragorn. Or if you just want to see the beautiful world that Black Label Games pictured, and J.R.R. Tolkien created.
