    01.)                    INTRODUCTION                                 G0100
    ===============================================================================

    Welcome to Hook for the PC, an adventure game by Ocean released in 1992.

    There are many other games with the same name released around the same time,
    also published by Ocean. However, they tend to be platformer rather than an
    adventure game.

    Suggestions, comments or errors - e-mail me about it. Enjoy!

    ===============================================================================
    02.)                    BASICS                                       G0200
    ===============================================================================

    The game is controlled with the mouse alone. By left clicking on the screen you
    will walk around.

    The interface has several action icons: Look, Talk, Take, Use, Give. They are
    used to interact with the world. For example, use Look and find an object on
    screen to look at it closely.

    When talking to a person, cycle through the available options with the right
    mouse button. There is no escape key so use the "good bye" style talk option to
    quit the conversation.

    Lastly there is an inventory that also includes the Load and Save icon.

    Press SHIFT+ESC to quit the game.

    03.)                    WALKTHROUGH                                  G0300
    ===============================================================================

    Pirate Town:
    ````````````
    From the start go west to Behind Pirate Square. Pick up the anchor on the
    bottom left and the pole leaning against the boat. Return to the main square
    and go east to the Dead Man's Pier. Grab the rope lying around before you enter
    the Crossed Swords. Pick up two mugs from the tables and leave again, only to
    enter the Bat and Tackle. Take yet another mug and cross through the bar,
    leaving via the top exit.
    Outside, combine the Rope with the Anchor in your inventory, then use this
    combination with the top of the tower the crocodile is in. The first two
    attempts he will not want to do it, but on the third command you will swing
    across the square to the other side. The aim is to grab the hat off the Pirate
    lurking around down there. Start the action when he is just leaving the screen
    to the left, this way he should just be coming back when you swing down into
    the square. If you don't make it, simply swing back from the other side and so
    forth.
    Knock at the door and when the lady shouts she'll be right out, quickly swing
    back to the other side of the square. Get back to the Pier, then to the Square
    (top left exit) and back west to Behind Pirate Square. Use the pole to get the
    blue pirate shirt hanging above. Look at it in the inventory to find a gold
    coin. Exit east and go north to Mugger's Alley. Inside Dr. Chop, take the
    roller blind in the back and talk to him. Ask him how to earn money and offer a
    tooth as exchange to get another gold coin. Do so again to end up with a third.
    Leave the dentist and go left into Jolliest Roger's Place. Give all three empty
    mugs to the barkeep and then start giving him all the gold coins in your
    possession. You will end up with three full mugs. Give them all to the man
    sitting beside the bar so that he passes out. Take his trousers.
    We are now all set to change into a pirate. To do so, go to behind pirate
    square and use the roller blind.
    Return to Mugger's Alley and go east to Good Form Pier. Walk to the ship and
    right. Take some gold coins from the pots near the gate. Go back all the way to
    the Pirate Square and enter Ye Pirate's Tailor on the left. Talk to the lady
    about Hook and obtaining a magnet. Give her the money in exchange. At the
    Mugger's Alley take the lower eastern path to Good Form Beach and use the new
    magnet on the X in the sand to get a clock. Walk back onto the pier and get on
    the ship. Walk left to get into a conversation with the mighty Hook himself.
    Ocean:
    ``````
    Use the pole on the pulley to make it work again. Look into the clam to find a
    shell. Use the clam to get out of the water.

    Neverforest:
    ````````````
    Walk down the tree branch to enter the forest. Follow these directions to get
    to the big tree: North, East, North, West, North, East. Walk in front of the
    tree to get caught in a trap. After the short scene, enter the tree.
    Lost Boys' Camp:
    ````````````````
    Go up on the left to the Workshop. Pick up the arrow on the table. Continue
    west to the Jogging Area. Ride the bike and lift the barbells. Go further west
    to the Avenger. Take the fishing net, look at it in your inventory to find a
    string. Go back east and to the Four Seasons. Grab the yellow flower in the
    center. Blow into the shell to make the bird fly and quickly grab the eggs from
    the nest. Return to the Workshop and give the eggs to the boy for an elastic.
    Back at the Dinging Area, go east to the Round Pond. Give the flower to
    Tinkerbell for a thimble. Also take the branch from the tree on the right. Walk
    over to the Workshop once again. Combine the tree branch with the string to
    make a bow. Use this new bow to shoot at the pan pipes hanging above. Pick it
    up afterwards.

    From the Dining Area walk to the top right where the Slingshot is. Fix it with
    the elastic. Walk to the Cliffside and jump off by using yourself at the edge.
    Talk to the boy about "What did you think of that?". Repeat this two more times
    and he suggest using the slingshot. Do so and talk to him once again about
    "What are your happy thoughts?" for his marbles.

    Talk to Rufio (the large kid) in the Dining Area, "Oh Rufio!" Return to the
    Round Pond and walk to the center. Afterwards you will find yourself in the
    tree above. Talk to Tinkerbell, look at the bed, the chair and the fire place
    and then talk to Tinkerball once again. Eventually you will remember the past
    and become Peter Pan.

    Hook's Ship:
    ````````````
    After a while you will end up on Hook's ship, directly in a duel with the
    notorious captain. Use the following replies to win the battle:
    1.PETER PAN THE AVENGER!
    2.GOOD FORM JAMES.
    3.TICK-TOCK-TICK-TOCK, HOOK'S AFRAID OF A DEAD OLD CROCK!
    4.YOU KIDNAPPED MY KIDS HOOK. YOU DESERVE TO DIE!
    5.PUT UP YOUR SWORDS. IT'S HOOK OR ME THIS TIME.
    6.PETER PAN THE AVENGER!
    If you make a mistake you can fix it again later, eventually you will win this
    duel.
                                       The End
