"Underrated Classic PC game denied sequel!"
Okay, this is my second review. Zak McKraken and the Alien Mindbenders was one of Lucas Art's first games ever (Actually, Zak McKraken around their second)Zak McKraken and the Alien Mindbenders was released in 1988, so if you were born before 1980, or haven't gotten the Classic Adventures pack from Lucas Arts (Contains Maniac Mansion, Zak McKraken, Indiana Jones (Maybe, I'm not sure though), Loom, and Secret of Monkey Island). Zak McKraken was one of Lucas Art's first games, so that meant it had constant jokes and some mild language, and, believe it or not, IT WASN'T RELATED TO STAR WARS!! (Crowd gasps, because almost all of Lucas Arts recent creations have been Star Wars Related). Yeah, There's humor in this game. Like Zak McKraken's joke Headlines (TABLOID REPORTER STRANGLES BOSS OVER LOUSY ASSIGNMENT, SABOTAGED SINK STIFLES SCREECHING STEWARDESS, TABLOID REPORTER ''SPACES OUT'' IN HIS OWN DREAM, VICIOUS TWO HEADED SQUIRREL DEVOURS SEATTLE AND TACOMA), to the Caponian's stupidity.
Graphics: 10 Yeah, they're old. Very old. But this game is about 15 years old now, so you have got to excuse how bad the graphics look today compared to something like Warcraft III or Final Fantasy X, but because this was created in the 1980's, they were considered good graphics back then.
Sound: 10 Yes, a game without no speaker sound got a 10 in the sound category. The sound comes right from the computer itself (Not the speakers, not the monitors). It's actually amazing what computer noises can do.
Control: 10. Yeah, the control's not too complicated, it's just the simple ''point and Click'' style. It's not too hard to catch onto, trust me.
Difficulty: 7 Yeah, the only bad thing about the game. The Difficulty is probably the worst factor of the Early Lucas Arts games, because this was before they started their ''No die'' and ''Can't mess up'' policies. You have to be very very veeeeeerrrrrry careful while playing this game, like in Katmandu.
Replay Value: 10. Okay, there's no ''leveling up'' required, so you can beat this game in an afternoon if you're that dedicated. Some of the puzzles aren't that difficult.
Overall: 10, it's an underrated classic that seriously needs a sequel.
Buy or Borrow?
You want to buy this game, that is if you can find it. You can get it off da internet for around 25 dollars, but you'll be getting Maniac Mansion, Loom, Indiana jones (Possibly, memory's foggy), and Secret of Monkey Island too, they're good games of course.
Having Fun torturing the stewardess on the plane.
No Sequel. waah!
