Crossman Extreme Paintbrawl 2
Review by alemme01
"One of the Worst First Person Shooters Ever"
The first Extreme Paintbrawl is possibly the worst video game ever. In fact, I don't know why they would make a sequel to a universally panned game that didn't sell many copies. But they did. And the second one is almost as bad. In fact, it's probably one of the top 10 worst PC games ever made.
In fact, the only things they changed were the graphics and compatibility. The game is easy to work. Just like most games, you can just pop it in your CD drive, or play it from your computer after you've installed it, without any problems. The graphics are miles better, even though not being very good anyway. Actually, I would say the only reason the graphics are better is because they don't look like cardboard cutouts like in the first game. So, in other words, they fixed stuff that shouldn't have been a problem in the first place.
The music and sound effects aren't that great. You don't hear any music in the game. Because of this, the game seems too quiet. In the menus, there's a song that sounds like it would be in one of the Splinter Cell games, particularly the first one. And there's not much to say about the sound effects. There aren't many, but there really isn't need for a lot. So basically, the game is way too quiet.
But the worst parts about the game are what really matters in a game.
The shooting is seriously flawed. If you stand still and shoot paintballs at random, each paintball will go in its own direction. Due to this, trying to hit enemies is way too much of a pain. In fact, the best way to hit enemies is to run up to them and start shooting.
The AI is even worse than in the first game. Although the first game is worse than this game, this game still has one thing that is worse than in the first game. In the first game, only one or two enemies would run into walls. But in this game, every single teammate runs into a wall at first. While some eventually find out how to move past the wall, one or two don't stop blindly running into a wall until you start controlling them.
The enemy AI is also very bad. Some just stand there, while others camp, and others open doors and shoot at you without you being able to react at all.
In short, this game is probably the second worst FPS ever, and is probably one of the top 10 worst games ever.
