  1. Currently, you can't. The only way is through third party software (mods). It might be implemented in the future, so keep your hopes up.

  1. as typed in by ultimateM4, you can't without using mods. having that in-game is like having the single player commands mod

  2. No you can't, but if it is a server you can go into the server.properties file and change the gamemode to 0.

  3. there is no way to do that without using mods. You could also do some progamming but that would require java progamming knowledge. If you have 1.0.0 then the mod TooManyItems will have an ability to make your gamemode change from survival/hardcore to creative with the click of your mouse. Also there is single player commands mod which allows you to do a ton of stuff with commands including changing the gamemode.

  4. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gNAm8hZ-xE Is a link to safe software that will do this for you. I use it and it works just fine. It is not a mod either.

  6. Search for Minecraft Seed Reader on Google. Download it, extract the .zip file and run the .jar file. It's a simple little application. All you have to do is select which world you want to switch the play mode to and check/uncheck "creative mode" and "save changes". It's SUPER simple and I use it all the time.

  7. Yes. you can, I have found a way to do just that although it might be hard. you have to have a file that is in survival mode. In the survival mode file go to a safe location (so when you transfer the creative file to survival file you won't die) close minecraft. then follow these steps.

    1. if you are playing on windows seven, click start then in the serch area enter %appdata%

    2. open the file roaming

    3. open the file .minecraft

    4 open the file saves

5 open the survival file folder

    6. coppy the last three files... not the folders

7 exit the folder then open the creative file folder

8 paste, you should have to say replace files

    9. close the folder, your creative file is not a survival file. the next time you play the game you will notice that the name of the file changed but the rest of the file is unharmed. just make sure to rename it , but you don't have to. note all items in your emediate enventory will change but everything in any chest will remain the same.

  8. Yes... Now with the new snapshot... Or when 1.3 comes out (I recommend getting the snapshot) you can turn cheats on and type in /gamemode 0 for survival /gamemode 1 for creative and /gamemode 2 for adventure

  9. Simply press Esc, Open To LAN, Creative, Cheats On. From there it's Creative, even if you do close Minecraft again. To revert it, simply do the steps again.
