Why is Minecraft lagging on my laptop?

I just bought a notebook with the I3 processor (Intel GMA HD) but the game get a very low fps, is there a way to improve it? I've put everything on minimum. I find weird this game to lag, since i can play starcraft 2, etc. Thanks

Try using an advanced GL then running max FPS, this clears a lot of lag. Go under options to find these.

Answer

You may want to update java if it isn't updated already, and close other existing processes. I find it weird that your computer can run SC2 but not minecraft :/
