What do the brown squares on the map mean?
I saw a brown square while looking for my brewing station, and I dug down while on that space, and I eventually ended up in a dungeon, but as I mined the one I dug in turned green or gray, whichever it was. I got curious, and I decided to ask about them here.

Pixels on a map are determined by whatever block has the highest concentration in that area as seen from directly above, better explained here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0e9fZ0242Y
It sounds like your mining tipped the balance in favor of the green/gray block.
