Can't break blocks?

When I use commands to switch to game mode 1 everything works but, when i go back to game mode 2 i cant break/place any blocks

I think that's the way it's supposed to work. Game mode 2 is adventure mode and you aren't allowed to break blocks in that mode; just kill things, use switches, levers and things like that.
