Curing a zombie?

how do I cure a zombie villager and make him a villager again?

I have minecraft 1.4.5, i think....... so i know i can do this, i just dont know how

Throw a splash potion of Weakness at it, then force-feed it the low-level golden apple(the one made from gold nuggets), then wait.
