Things To Know Before You Play

There is a block in Minecraft called "Bedrock". It is usually found digging down a hole through the ground. You might have an urge to try and break it, but Bedrock is not breakable. No matter what you use, or how long you try, it will not break.

The only ways to get through bedrock are to either find a chunk error and go through it or remove it in creative mode, Going past the bedrock layer sends you through the bottom of the map killing you in roughly 4 seconds.

Creepers, Skeletons and many more enemies can be found in this game. If you are new to the game, I recommend staying in a house at night, and steer clear of the enemies unless your well equipped.

A basic rundown of Enemies.

Zombie: The most basic monster in the game, It runs at you and tries to beat you to death, Drops Rotten Flesh, Iron Ingots, and Iron Helmet upon death and burns in daylight.

As of 1.2 Zombies can break down doors on Hard Difficulty.

Skeleton: A skeleton equipped with a Bow and Arrow, Always attacks from range, Drops Arrows and Bone upon death, Also burns in daylight.

Spider: Attacks you only during the night, It is neutral during the day. Drops string and spider eyes upon death.

Cave Spider: Only spawns in caves. Has the potential to be extremely deadly, due to it's poison effect.

Creeper: When it spots you it runs at you and explodes, Does alot of damage. Only drops Gunpowder when it's killed without exploding.

Enderman One of the most unique enemies in the game, It will move around blocks during the night, Only turns hostile when your crosshairs are directly over it, Otherwise it's neutral. Also gets hurt when touching water.

There are plenty of mods that you can download that will enhance your experience without being considered cheating. Some good examples are mini-maps, more creatures, texture packs, skins, etc. Packs like the Technic Pack or the Yogsbox contain a handful of these.

Building Tips

These tips could be very helpful for Survival mode and Hardcore mode

Need to build a house fast? The quickest way to do so is cut down about 4 or 5 trees, and turn them into Wood Planks. Just a few pieces of wood make many wood planks. It will save time for you to build the house.

Or you could find a mountain and carve out a cave to live in in the side of it.

Its dangerous to build at night. A enemy known as a creeper (In the default texture pack it's Green and looks like a... bush) may walk up to your house. They eventually explode and destroy your building progress. Build a wall if need be, It also does not de-spawn during the day, so be very careful.
