"A great addition to an amazing series!"
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been long awaited for by many fans. With the Elder Scrolls series being critically claimed as one of the best series in Role Playing Games, it makes fans wonder if it will live up to the name. It does.
This is the big thing the Elder Scrolls does so well. The gameplay is the same style of the prequels but improved in all the right ways. You are able to select a race for your character which gives you special advantages over others while also disadvantages such as other races may discriminate against you. After deciding on a race, you do not chose a set of skills that you would like. The games levels up whatever skills you use most so instead of making a quick decision about them, you get to play however you want and not worry about it. This includes many ways to play such as a mage, a warrior, a stealth character or even magic in one hand with a sword in the other. The possibilities and endless.
The story in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is good, but not the best part of the game. The story is short but still very intriguing and ties in with other things you do in the game. While playing through the story grants your character more abilities, the none story quests are just as good. There are many side quests in this game such as The Thieves Guild, The Mage's Guild, The Dark Brotherhood, and many more that always add more to the story and keep you involved.
The graphics in this game and amazing because of the vast types of aesthetics and still looks great on low end machines. While the graphics are not the best considering there are many games with much better graphics, they are still extremely good considering the amount of detail everything has. Every weapon, piece of armor, and even small trinkets show a great amount of detail that you will not find in most games. In addition to this, the scenery is very nice with the foliage, roads, and waterfalls. The only complaint I have about the graphics is that the highest textures are still somewhat small for a game in today's time. The sound in this game is absolutely beautiful. It has a wide range of music for anything you are doing whether that be peaceful l music while admiring the great white mountains or more loud and intense music while battling an evil dragon on top of the mountain. The music in this game fits into whatever you are doing perfectly.
One thing that makes The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim a game to continue playing over and over is infinite quests. This game has infinite quests so you never run out of things to do. It also allows you to play in completely different ways as you may play through as a warrior the first time but decide you want to play as a mage the next. There are also certain factions that you can side with giving you another reason the replay and side with a different one. This game has limitless things to do and ways to play.
This games lives up to its predecessors and even exceeds them in greatness. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a new standard for Role Playing Games and will be talked about for years. This is an amazing game and I would recommend it to any gamer out there.
